My family and I rented the house for 5 weeks in October. The property was clean and in good condition. The owner was really nice and answered all my questions promptly. This is a very nice pet friendly house, and it not like regular rental homes, it has everything you need. We went on daily hikes places like Elk River falls and Blowing rock. I would surely recommend the house. Thanks!
Owner response:Hi Karen, Thanks so much for the glowing review! I am just so glad that you had a good time and felt comfortable in my home. It is important to me that my guests leave happy, Thanks so much, Cason

Wow first time ever renting a cabin and it was wonderful. My girls had a great time even though we missed out on snow they still had a blast at the slopes. The house was warm and inviting. We stayed in February of 2011 and are hoping for a return in January. The house had everything we needed and could have asked for. The fireplace was amazing! More than enough room, even the dog had a bed! Thank you.
Owner response:Thanks so much Penny, it means a lot to me that you enjoyed the house. I just got back from spending a few 'cool' summer days up there, it was so hard to leave 70 degrees knowing I was coming back to 97!

This was an ideal house for our family vacation! My husband, son and daughter-in-law, and our youngest son really enjoyed our stay. Our youngest son was home on R & R from serving in Iraq. It was relaxing to sit on the deck and drink coffee in the morning and grill out in the evening. The kitchen was stocked with housewares for cooking meals. We toasted marshmallows in the fireplace for s'mores and played board games in the evening. (There are many to choose from) The laid-back, casual style perfectly suited our needs. The weather was an especially nice break for us, especially our soldier! It was great having the windows and sliding doors open to enjoy the breeze. We took day hikes to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Roan Mountain. One day we packed a picnic lunch and went to the lake nearby. We spent one day in Blowing Rock and had an exceptional dinner at Gideon Ridge Inn. We ate dinner at the club after a day of hiking, and sat outside with a lovely view of the golf course. It was nice to be able to pay a small fee for a housekeeper to do the laundry and cleaning when we left. We have wonderful, happy memories of this vacation! Thank you!
Owner response:Thanks Barbara!

Cason, thank you so much for allowing us to use your home again this winter! We just love it. It is perfect for 2 families to hang out and be together. I love that your kitchen has everything we need and that we can ALL fit at the dining table!!! The kids love to hang out downstairs and play or pile on the comfy sectional and relax. We love to spend the day sledding in the backyard and then come home and play games at the big dining room table. We also like the short drive to the ski resort and to Fred's to buy anything we might need!! It really is a slice of heaven and we can't wait to come back this winter!!! Joanne
Owner response:Joanne - Thanks so much for your glowing review. I do hope you get another chance to enjoy the house. Thanks! Cason

We had the pleasure of staying at this home during "The Great Southern Winter Storm of 2011." We were lucky enough to have over 26" of snow during our stay! The residence is a wonderful, warm and comfortable stay! The king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable and the comforter is warm and cozy. The casual furnishings, and well equipped kitchen, along with the spacious layout, helped us, along with our family and dogs feel right at home! The rec-room on the lower level was a good escape for the kids and they enjoyed the bumper-pool table. The owner communicated with us almost immediately, was very helpful, and was very accommodating. Communication via both telephone and email were excellent! The home is a short drive to Beech Mountain and was a wonderful location for our ski trip, however, we would highly recommend tire chains for the winter months! We saw deer in the neighborhood almost every evening and the sunrises out the back of the cabin were breathtaking! We stayed at a different property last year and liked this one much better! We hope to be able to stay at this home again for future ski trips and can wholeheartedly recommend the property to anyone interested!!!
Owner response:I am so glad y'all had a great time! I do hope you can stay again next year.
