  ... Traveling with two other couples and each couple wants the master bedroom? No problem. This home has 3 master bedrooms .. and a 4th bedroom if you're toting a couple of kids. This intelligently designed and tastefully appointed property has it all .. great views, great kitchen, multi-level decks .. everything .. and the owners were helpful and easy to work with. I cannot add to what has been already said. Just read the testimonials below this one. They are all true. We spent a wonderful week here and we ehco the sentiments of so many others that said: "It was really tought to leave."

  My husband and I (and little dog!) made a spur of the moment trip up to NC and have found a slice of heaven.  I am so sad to leave....  The owners (although not here) did everything to make us feel welcome and acclimate us to the area.  I had to work from the cabin for several days and the wifi connection was great, while my husband traveled around taking amazing photographs!  Every night, my husband would ask if I wanted to go out for dinner and I would say, "No, I'm really good here!". The furnishings, the charm and, of course, the views all make this a wonderful place to stay.  We're already planning our next trip back!!!

  The beautiful Elk View Lodge did not disappoint! The photos truly do not do justice to this lovely property. Great proximity to everything...Asheville, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Sliding Rock, many great hiking trails, the Natahala for white water rafting..we even ventured out to Gatlinburg! Don't miss historic Cataloochee Valley and the beautiful elk feeding near twilight. We even saw a bear while viewing the elk! Great famly and friend bonding time. The elegant yet rustic cabin was hard to leave. Just beautiful, and we all felt very blessed to have found this property through VRBO. We will certainly make it a priority to return!

  This was our 5th time staying in this beautiful home! We love the seclusion and privacy. We always love to come here to escape our busy hectic life. When it comes time to go, we never want to leave. The views from the deck are amazing. We saw a male elk wandering through the back woods. We drove in to Ashville in about 25 minutes which has a very large mall and several restaurants to choose from. Also we love downtown Waynesville which feels like a small friendly hometown also with a lot of good restaurants to choose from. If you like to cook, the kitchen is beautiful and well equipped with everything you will need . We have shared many wonderful family dinners and memories at the large dining room table. I cant say enough positive things about this home and my family and I will continue to come here as often as we can to relax and escape from our busy lives. The homeowners are great and very pleasant to deal with.

  This visit was surely one of our best vacations ever (we travel quite a bit)! The home, scenery, and elegant yet comfortable decor is truly breathtaking. We wanted to get away from our hectic schedules and unwind at a quiet and cozy cabin secluded in the mountains. This place was perfect. It was close enough to the charming town of Waynesville with plenty of shopping and restaurants (about 15 minutes from the cabin) as well as being close enough to many destinations. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and one of my many favorites was sleeping in one of the master bedrooms with the windows open and falling asleep to the serene sound of the stream running next to the cabin. The large jacuzzi bath in the master is just perfect after a long hike. We went whitewater rafting at the Pigeon River with NOC with our 12 and 9 year old, tubing at the River Rat and headed out to the National Park to see the wild Elk (which walked right up to our car), wild turkeys, deer and two black bears! Many things to do in the area. My kids especially liked the pool table downstairs, the hanging chairs on one of the side decks and catching fireflies at night. They even have a fire pit to roast marshmallows! I could go on, and on about this place. You won't find a better cabin, including spectacular views, comfort, privacy and also being close enough to dine and shop. We will be back again soon! One of the earlier posts couldn't have said it better "it's very hard to leave".

  This is the life.... comfortable beds & couches spotless~lots of privacy. Fireplace is amazing. I would recommend a very heavy vehicle or 4WD due to steep incline. We drove a Ford Expedition and had no issues but my parents drove a Honda CRV and had some difficulty. Three sets of stairs, no t.v on main floor (which I LOVED) you can sit and read while watching the fire. Big t.v. on bottom level as well as in bedrooms. Nice linens & towels. Very nice gas stove. We have stayed at several places and this is my favortite yet:)
