This spectacular second row, five bedroom home at 6 Flotilla is located directly on the beach path and is situated in the quieter, less crowded Mariners section of Palmetto dunes. It is only steps to the beach. (The house icon located on the Google map does not show the home's exact location on Flotilla. It is located next to the beach path). The one and one half story home with a main living section and two wings is inviting.
The main section contains the living room, dining room, kitchen and marble half bath/powder room. The entrance foyer opens to a spacious living room with back walls of glass overlooking the pool and deck area. The living room seating is comfortable. The room features a fire place and entertainment area with TV/VCR/DVD and CD player. The room allows for large gatherings yet offers small spaces for relaxing and enjoying conversation.
The dining room is open to the living room and has a marble table and eight chairs. Sliding glass doors from both the living room and dining room lead to the pool and deck area allowing natural light and spectacular views.
Adjacent to the dining room is the gourmet kitchen with a Thermador oven/microwave and warming drawer, Jenn-Air cooktop,and Sub Zero refrigerator, dishwasher and Corian counters. An eat-in breakfast area with a table and four chairs overlooks the pool.
The left wing of the home contains the master bedroom with a king size bed, chest, and armoire housing a TV/VCR. A sliding glass door opens to the pool and deck area. The master bath features a marble floor, Corian countertop with double sinks, a Jacuzzi tub and a separate oversized marble shower. A toilet and bidet closet are also part of the bath. The skylight provides for natural light and privacy.
Also in this wing and over the garage is a second bedroom with two queen beds, a TV/VCR/DVD, and a private granite bath. This room has a sliding door that opens onto a deck in the front of the house containing a table and chairs.
The laundry room with sink and the two-car garage are also located in this wing. A side door off this wing leads to two outside showers and the beach path. The home is next to the beach path. A few steps and you are on the beach.
The wing to the right of the living room contains the other three bedrooms and two baths. The third bedroom has two twin beds, a TV/VCR and a sliding door that opens onto the rear deck and pool area. The fourth bedroom has a king bed, TV/VCR/DVD, and chair and private bath. The bedroom is open to the vanity area with a Corian counter and double sinks. The granite bath has a small Jacuzzi tub. The fifth bedroom has two twin beds, and access to a full hall bath with Corian counters and granite tub/shower. Ceiling fans are located in all bedrooms and the living room.
The pool area, with heatable pool and spa, is amazing. It contains multi-level decking, and an outside table with umbrella and chairs. The backyard is surrounded by a wall to give privacy but with an open feel. This home offers a wonderful place for families and friends to gather, whether spending a day on the beach or enjoying the privacy and safety of your own pool. Set in the low country of Hilton Head Island, this vacation spot is close to the island activities while offering the seclusion of a private retreat.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at 6 Flotilla and our stay was impeccible. The pictures don't do the house justice. Each of the rooms is very well appointed and the kitchen had all the accoutrements to exceed our needs! Our party consisted of 10, ranging in age from 4 to 85 and the house was great for all of us. The walk to the beach was less than 2 minutes and, whether biking or driving, all HHI amenities were at our easy disposal. Even with inclement weather, the covered terrace near the pool allowed us adults to sit in comfort while the more adventerous swam in the rain!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I just got back home after spending a beautiful week at 6 Flotilla. We had the best vacation we've ever had, none of us were ready to leave! This home is very comfortable to live in and the bedrooms are very cozy and private from each other. The kitchen is very well equipped - the living room super comfortable to hang out in at the end of the day (furniture is new - not what is pictured on web site) - the private deck and pool offer both sun and shade for most of the day - new washing machine/dryer. We loved being only a 2 minute walk away from the beach (path is truly right outside the side door) - saw the sunrise every morning! We also had a great time renting bicycles for the week and rode them on the beach, to Piggly Wiggly, Shelter Cove, and through the neighborhoods of Palmetto Dunes! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The location is awesome.However, uncomfortable or broken furniture and beds, dirty carpets, ripped pool lounges and a malfunctioning pool pump dampened our vacation days last August. We had multiple maintenance people visiting and new furniture deliveries throughout our 2 week stay to replace or repair sub-standard household items.Overall, it was not the vacation house we thought we were renting by looking at these pictures. We have stayed at many homes in this area over several years and this was surprisingly not up to the usual level of care and quality. We did have the agency call the owner and some things that could be were addressed while we were there, but this is not what you want to be doing on vacation. I hope this is helpful.Owner response: We have never had negative comments about the condition of our home before. Please see other reviews on this site. Regardless, to ensure a positive stay for our renters, we have redecorated with new furniture and carpets. The new photos are forthcoming.

We stayed at this beautiful home the 6/4/11 - 6/11/11. The house is as wonderful as the pictures and descriptions. Our group included 4 adults and 5 kids (including 2 teenagers.) The house is laid out well for a group with enough space for everyone. The house is perfectly maintained and the kitchen well stocked and perfect for a group to cook. The deck included a gas BQ that we also used. The kids swam in the pool every day and the beach was only steps away! We have never stayed in such a well stocked, maintained and comfortable vacation home. We will definately go again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Wonderful home for a family vacation. We stayed for a week in October with 6 adults and 2 children. The beach is very close and it was nice to come back and relax around the pool when we were done at the beach. The lay out of the home is wonderful for a group, with the bedrooms divided between the two ends of the home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a great time last year during the week of 9/18-9/25. This house is lovely and well maintained, it looked just as good as the pictures depicted. There were 7 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of space for all of us. Wonderful deck and pool, great kitchen facilities and well laid out sleeping facilities. Also, great access to the beach. We are coming back this year.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I stayed in this home the week of 9/11 to 9/18. I can only say if you get the chance to stay here, do! We had a group of 7 and I don't think there was one complaint from anyone. Kitchen works well with large group and bedrooms are laid out nice for privacy. Pool and outdoor space was our main space. Living room furniture was ridiculously comfy. Great for movie nights. Beach so close you can be there in a minute, literally. Can't wait till my next visit to HHI, I already have my place picked out. Thanks to the owners for having such a well kept property.
