From the moment we walked through the gate it was clear that we made the perfect choice for our wedding. Absolutely everything about the property was breathtaking. The floor plan is perfect for a large group and yet the space still feels private and quaint. The architecture is stunning and equal to the beauty created by nature with the ocean view and beach. The staff is first rate! Guille and Poli took care of us with remarkable detail and Guille's cooking skills are nothing short of amazing. The food was spectacular and always presented beautifully. Mariana is lovely and made sure all of our needs were met. We had complete peace of mind knowing that Don Tino was watching over our family as we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our experience was even better than we could have wished. From the first moment we located Casa Majahua on the internet we knew it was for us, and yet when we arrived it was more than we imagined. Not a single person in our large group of family and friends had anything but fantastic things to say and all would chose it again as a destination. We know we will be going back again someday and we hope it's soon.

The listing photos may not do this property justice. Communication with owner was first rate; all questions being answered quickly and efficiently. Casa Majahua exudes rustic elegance! There is a great music system in the main house so anybody's iPod can be plugged in and broadcast across the great area and pool. The DVD video library is abundant, but staying inside to watch a movie wasn't a priority for our group -- perhaps during rainy season. There are plenty of family games for evenings. We opted to have Guille cook breakfast and dinner for us the entire week and we were never disappointed. We planned all of the meals with Mariana upon arrival. Note: be sure to bring cash pesos as the village of Troncones is not ready for credit cards and Ixtapa is a fair distance for the nearest ATM. We loved being at the end of the road and hanging out on the property, reading, napping, and walking on the beach and pool - always with a cold beer or margarita in hand. The 2 surfers were impressed with the winter waves. Our fisherman were a stone's throw from the panga (small boats) rentals in Majahua.

Complete privacy, delicious meals, ocean sounds lulling you to sleep every night, friendly staff, spacious design the most spectacular sunsets, your own private beach, your own private infinity pool (with bar stools!) and an outstanding view of the Ocean. We saw whales, dolphins, exotic birds, iguanas, and more. We drank tequila, beer, wine and more. We laughed- a lot. We relaxed. COMPLETELY. We didn't have a car- didn't need one, really, because we never wanted to leave Casa Majahua! Paradise for families, friends, couples.... anyone wanting quality time spent with loved ones in a luxuriously authentic, slightly adventurous and magical place.

Of the countless places I have stayed for both personal and business travel Casa Mahajua ranks among the very best of them, without a doubt. It was 11 days of heaven with ample space, amazing architecture, excellent attention to detail from the staff, incredible food, great fun, sun, and a lot of relaxation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away with friends or family in a beautiful setting, with enough privacy to relax completely and yet with access to nearby restaurants, outdoor activities, and interesting people. Amazing experience!!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Majahua. There were 10 of us and could not have asked for a more complete vacation. The villa exceeded our expectations, beautiful beyond belief. Every inch of space was carefully planned. Pool was great..beach was wonderful. We had a chef which is a must. It is quite a drive to buy groceries. They were very acommodating and great cooks. They stocked the kitchen with whatever we wanted. You will have a wonderful, memorable experience if you stay at Casa Majahua. We are still talking about it.
Owner response:I am so glad you all enjoyed it so much! Thanks for choosing Casa Majahua - we look forward to having you and your guests come again another time. Take Care, Michael

Beautiful, beautiful place! I rented Casa Majahua for our wedding in early March. We stayed a week and it was perfect! Many many guests commented how they felt like they were on a movie set. It's an amazing spot. So private, amazing views, great layout and so relaxing, perfect for a big party or wedding. We had our ceremony on the beach and the reception in the garden, the decor was beautiful and Marianna was a gift! This house is great for a group because you hardly know who else is around. You have a lot of room to spread out and get space. There is a couple restaurants in walking distance but most everything is in Troncones. So the bikes really come in handy. We rented a car which was a must to get around with a big group. If you are throwing a party or a wedding...this is by far the best place to rent. I've visiting Troncones twice and visited many house...Casa Majahua hands down is the best venue for a big group in this area. I will for sure rent Casa Majahua again!

We arrived late in the day and were warmly greeted by Mariana, Alejandro and Don Tino. The sun had just set and estate invited us to come in and relax. Everything was exactly how it had been represented and much more. We had our annual family retreat in this fabulous space. The quiet mornings, spectacular sunsets, the fireflies, butterflies, and the sound of the ocean every moment of our days, grounded us back to where we needed to be... The staff were extremely gracious to us and took care of the property meticulously. Mariana was a life saver and was there to help us as needed. We are already planning to come back next year and would recommend this space to anyone looking for the special place to spend time away from it all.

We were married at Casa Majahua in June 2010 and had an amazing week. From the beginning Denni and Moira were extremely helpful with our wedding planning and put us in touch with some local contacts to assist with the planning. They were always available for support and questions as we moved through our planning process. The staff at the property were amazing as well from offering general day to day assistance to putting in the extra time and effort to make sure the property was picture perfect for our day. We couldn't have asked for more. Our friends and family were stunned by the beauty of the space and the attentiveness of the staff - though the pictures posted are beautiful it is only once you are at Casa Majahua that you can truly appreciate the beauty of the home, its amazing location on the beach, and the awesome staff. The comfortable rooms, lounging space, tips for surrounding activities, games and pool toys to keep us entertained, and amazing kitchen where we could cook together with our family and guests all contributed to an outstanding week. After a few days of clouds and light rain showers our wedding day brought us clear skies and a beautiful day for a ceremony just adding to an already perfect week. We can't wait to return for future vacations and celebrations and would highly recommend Casa Majahua to all!

An amazing property for a group getaway. The pictures don't really do it justice. The setup with multiple buildings provides everyone in the group the option of privacy at any time. We were there for a week the beginning of July, 2010 and I didn't want the week to end. If you let Mariana take care of everything you won't have to think or worry about anything for your entire visit. The biggest decisions of the day were pool or ocean, beer or tequila. This is a deliciously secluded spot. If you want to be close to the action this is not for you. This is a place to unwind and relax. We had a cook come in so we didn't even have to leave for food. And the meals were amazing! However, if you do want some activities Mariana can arrange that. We went snorkeling one day and had a great outing.

I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Majahua for a full week in July 2010. I was there with my partner and a group of friends (there were between 10-12 of us staying there at any one time). Words can't describe how great this place is. The majority of the property is open air, so you really get to hear the waves, feel the ocean breezes, and enjoy the amazing location. I was afraid that it would be too hot and muggy in the non-AC rooms but that was not the case at all, and the breeze was great. Everything about the whole property is top-notch -- I am very finicky from a design point of view and I really loved this place. Very beautiful and natural, and fits into the surrounding environment perfectly. There is not much to do in Troncones itself, so visiting this place is all about enjoying the "compound." The amenities were awesome -- gorgeous pool, boogie boards, bicycles, etc. Everything we needed was there. We spent an amazing week just swimming, relaxing in the hammocks, walking on the beach, playing games, reading, making margaritas... This property is especially good for families or groups of friends who primarily want to spend time with each other, having fun around the property, and making the occasional excursion or day trip around the area. I can't rave enough about the staff, from the local property managers Mariana and Alejandro to the extremely friendly folks who cooked and cleaned. For a very small fee we had 2 amazing meals prepared for us each day -- I definitely recommend this, it made our trip so worry-free, and her food was fantastic, especially the chile rellenos! The staff also arranged trips into Zihua/Ixtapa and a day-long snorkeling boat for us, both of which were great. We had such an amazing experience at Casa Majahua. I really have no "criticisms" at all and would not have changed a thing. We will definitely return again soon!

Stayed at the property earlier this year with a group of about ten friends and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The accomodations are beautiful and the location perfect - you feel like there are no other houses near you and have access to a private beach. The photos just don't do it justice. Highly recommend it for a group - it's big enough that you can have time and space to yourself or socialize with your friends and family. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!!

We just returned from a 10 day stay at Casa Majahua and already thinking of when we can return. There is nothing that that we would change about this place. The staff are amazing, they shopped for us, found babysitters, made reservations for us, made delicious meals and hooked us up with fishing trips and an Eco tour(which was my 7 year olds highlight of the trip). We had 4 kids between the ages of 4-7 and we could not get them out of the pool. Their swimming skills and diving skills improved so much over the week. The accommodation is superb, the main casitas are great for families and the place is large enough that no one felt on top of each other. There are lots of areas to just chill out and read a book and not be disturbed. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the amazing Casa Majahua and found it to be an absolute slice of heaven. It is everything described and more. They have done a beautiful job with all the custom details and layout of the property with a view of the ocean from almost every angle. It is very comfortable, open and airy with lots of room to roam. The staff that greeted us and cared for us during our stay were delightful and helpful. Casa Majahua is a spectacular piece of property with beautiful landscaping, infinity pool and sandy beach as you step off the deck. We have nothing but positive comments and good memories with Casa Majahua. Our visit was a very memorable experience that we will always carry with us.

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Majahua for 2 weeks, during a family reunion. "I feel like a movie star"... This phrase was heard quite often during our stay. It is hard to tell whether it is the architecture (beautiful, detailed and consciously designed), the service (Mariana, Alejandro and the whole staff make a genuine effort to make you feel at home), or the setting (private beach, Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean...nice) At the end, it is probably a feeling of "belonging"... that creates this experience. I believe the owners have somehow created a group of "friends and family" that make you feel welcome and "at home" as soon as you step into Casa Majahua. I sincerely recommend this property Kendji

I had the amazing privilege of staying at Casa Majahua in July of this year. It truly is the most wonderful vacation spot I've ever been...and much more beautiful in person than in the pictures. The architecture, furnishings, and landscaping is gorgeous. The crystal blue ocean is just steps away, and the sound of the waves peacefully drift you to sleep in the fabulous casitas. The infinity pool was a perfect way to relax the day away! Everything was top-notch...I felt as though I were in a "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" episode! The owners and staff are so kind and helpful. The neighboring restaurants and lounges were easily accessible and very nice as well. Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are close and definitely worth exploring and shopping. I would not hesitate to give Casa Majahua the highest recommendation to anyone looking for a fabulous vacation spot!

A huge thank you to Denni and Moiraa for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful home in Troncones. I felt like a million bucks the whole week. It is truly a magical place. It was a totally relaxing, wonderful week and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful spot to get married. My fiance (now husband) Bertrand and I had a gorgeous sunset Thursday for our wedding. There had been no clouds at all the entire week, but they started to roll in on Thursday. The clouds made for a more dramatic sunset. As predicted, everyone who came down had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the Casa. We took a group photo of us all wearing hospital masks with our hand making an "L" on our forehead for all the losers who thought they might catch the swine flu down there. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Mariana was absolutely wonderful. She was so helpful in getting us a phone card, toothbrushes for the two who forgot theirs, etc. Her wedding floral arrangements were beautiful. She was just a delight. Poly was a sweetheart. And I kept forgetting the housekeeper/cook's name... she was very nice and a hard worker. She cooked us lobster on Wednesday for the "rehearsal dinner", though there really wasn't any rehearsal involved. Caterer Juan Pascal, aka Zihua Chef, was awesome and his food was delicious. He has such a positive aura. We enjoyed getting to know him. He came by our first night to greet us and then came back on Monday to go over the wedding reception menu. We ate at Present Moment (a yoga spa down the road) our last night. Every other night we didn't want to step one foot away from Casa Majahua. I took my future stepdaughter horseback riding on Monday and she had a blast galloping down the beach just north in Majahua. Then three of us adults went diving with Jean Pascal's brother Frederick on Wednesday. I woke up the morning after we left wanting to go sit on the front deck and read my book while also watching the pelicans skim the waves as the sun came up. That view is permanently ingrained in my mind, so I can go there by closing my eyes when I'm stressed out. I can't imagine anyone spending time at Casa Majahua and not having a completely relaxing, magical time. It was truly one of the best vacations I've ever had. You won't regret your decision to stay here. Gayle Phoenix, AZ

WOW, and again a DOUBLE WOW!!! North of Ixtapa, secluded, close to the village of Troncones with plenty of local fare and shopping for "the getaway"! Our family get-together for 12 was THE BEST we've ever had, with an 88 year old mom to a 1 1/2 year old grandson. Eating, money exchange, shopping were no problem with NO little upsetting surprises. The on-site management staff of Mariana and Alejandro was wonderful. To the owners I say, "MAGNIFICO' and we hope to return soon.

I think I can speak for the whole group when I say that we had an excellent time at your Casa. Besides the wonderful sunsets, swims in the ocean, fishing off the rocks, long walks on the beach and friendly neighbors, we enjoyed your facility and staff without question. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Above and beyond! The rooms and gardens were always clean, groomed and manicured. We loved learning about your Majahua tree and how the flowers changed colors throughout the day only to fall to the ground at night. Our cook quietly prepared the most wonderful meals. Each day we looked forward to her arrival and what she would create. Mexican food will never be the same. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Casa Majahua with us.

My comment will not do this place justice....but I will try. We were married at Casa Majahua in October 2008. We stayed there with a couple of close friends for one week. Leaving was pure misery. The architecture of Casa Majahua is amazing and very open. Very unique and wonderfully spread out. We spent most of our days and nights in the terrific pool. The workers at Casa Majahua can set anything up for you, and one example from our stay was a last minute lobster dinner that was fantastic. The night watchmen is Don Tino and we loved him. Casa Majahua is rather secure with high walls only opening towards the beach. The AirCon media room allowed us to watch the occasional late night movie. The kitchen was great...the main sleeping quarters were magical and open. I could go on all day. We dream of returning someday. Ian

To sum it up, I still have dreams about this home. I think about ways to pack up my life in San Francisco and move to this amazing compound that looks like it was featured in a vacation home magazine. Maybe it's the private beach and a constant soothing of its crashing waves. Or the relaxation of rocking in the hammock next to the beautiful and inviting pool. Any way you look at it, this home and the lovely people who run it exceeded every expectation I could possibly have had. And until I return (which I certainly will) I'll just have to keep dreaming about it!

Truly magnificent! Casa Majahua is Five Star accommodations without the crowds of a Ritz or Four Seasons. The location is ultra private - you have a sandy cove all to yourself! We thoroughly enjoyed the infinity pool overlooking the ocean and the kids spent every waking hour in the pool. As for the design and architecture, it is all top notch. The open-air living spaces and casita's gave the home a special touch. The staff was very accommodating and met our every need. We were all very pampered and safe day and night. The home was also conveniently located to many wonderful dining establishments that offered wonderful local food as well as sophisticated dishes. We will return as much as possible when we vacation in Troncones. Thanks Moira and friends for making such a special place:)

If there were ever a dream vacation…this was it!I had seen the photos and I had heard all the amazing details from the infinity pool to the guesthouse. However, it is still hard to tell you just how beautiful it was- I could have never imagined such beauty & tranquility. The property itself was so spacious & open, yet felt so warm and inviting. The architecture was so impressive with such beautiful craftsmanship. You can truly feel the love & thought that was put forth from each reclaimed tree that was beautifully honed to the continued efforts to remain “Green” and sustainable. Our vacation was what a vacation should be…we ate, drank, and lounged in the pool! What more could one wish for? We did manage to tear ourselves away to enjoy a kayaking tour, a bike ride & a trip to Zihuatanejo. But honestly, I would have been completely content enjoying the calming sounds of the waves, walks along the beach and just taking in the beauty of this retreat.I did want to extend a special thanks to staff and to Marianna & Alejandro who maintain the property beautifully. Additionally, they had arranged for a nanny (Lizabeth, who was a sweetheart) to help care and watch over our 2 ½ year old son. That alone put our minds at ease and allowed us to enjoy a true vacation experience! And finally, thanks to Michael, Robert, Moria & Denni for creating such an amazing oasis!N. It’s hard to describe heaven if you haven’t stayed at Casa Majahua. The pictures don’t do justice…..you don’t realize how magical it is until you’ve stayed and experienced it first hand. Did I mention this place is incredible….it’s beautifully decorated and spacious enough to find a quiet area to sneak away and relax from the other guests. I really loved lounging on the chaise sleeper in front of the casita, taking a siesta on the hammock near the pool, having my morning coffee upstairs of the main living area or watching the stars at night while taking a dip in the pool….you get my point, the list is endless to describe every detail of Casa Majahua. I was blown away by the spectacular view and couldn’t get enough of the amazing sunsets. I really enjoyed taking a dip in the ocean and walking a few feet back to the property to lounge by the pool (did I mentioned there is a swim up bar too). The casitas are incredibly comfortable and every night the sounds of the ocean will lull you to sleep. If you looking for a relaxing vacation spot look no further, this is the place for you. Thank you to the staff for all their help. A special shout out to the owners Michael, Denni and Moira, I had a great time and thank you very much for everything!

We enjoyed warm days with the temperature varying just a few degrees cooler at night. It was never too hot due to the soothing sea breeze. Every morning we were greeted by the smell of fresh coffee, a lovely breakfast cooked just for us by the kitchen staff, and the gorgeous resort like surroundings of Casa Majahua. The architecture and flow of the property is truly mesmerizing. For some of us, our waking destination was straight to the beach to see what treasures the ocean waves had deposited on the sand from the night before. For others, it was a lounge chair in the sun, a cool morning dip in the infinity pool, or a warm soak in the seaside jacuzzi. Our days were spent in true vacation style... swimming, sunning, exploring, surfing, shelling, reading, napping, kayaking, beach walking, whale watching, tai chi class, massages, sipping cocktails, snacking on guacamole and chips, playing dominoes, savoring a cold beer, enjoying the abundant wildlife, visiting the local restaurants and gazing at beautiful sunsets. Most nights, before heading to bed, we would lay back in the poolside loungers and watch for falling stars. We were never disappointed. Once in bed we would close our eyes to the sound of waves breaking on the beach lulling us to sleep and into dreams of the next day's adventures. We are so very grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy this very special slice of "heaven on earth". A huge thank you goes out to owner Robert Huggins for going above and beyond to insure our stay at Casa Majahua was a memorable one. We had a great time! Thank you!!

Hard to find the words to describe such a beautiful home. The area gives you a taste of the real Mexico, with wonderful restaurants close by, and fun shopping areas within 30 minutes. But it's all about Casa Majahua. Right on the beach, it's a perfect spot for watching the pelicans fly by and catching one stunning sunset after another. The accommodations are top notch. The owners, Moira and Denni, are all about making the up-front experience easy. Once you arrive, Alejandro and Marianna are amazing! They make you feel right at home. The property? You just have to go there to truly appreciate it. And believe me, I plan to go back!

If there was just one word to describe this little piece of heaven it would be: "MAGICAL".... We had our wedding ceremony on our own private beach at sunset and it was perfect... From the dealing with one of the owners: Moira, who made it so easy and stress free to book a family vacation for so many people, to the incredible beauty of the house and the cute little town, to the wonderful staff, who are so warm and professional, Alejandro and Mariana are such amazing hosts...everything was much better than we expected, it was so hard to leave....we hope we can return soon and hopefully live there "part time".

This modern architecture property has just recently been completed and is exceptionally beautiful. The attention to detail and beauty that went into its construction and décor is evident everywhere. Every night was spent around the swim-in pool and deck area watching the Pelicans fish, the surf lap the beach, the sun set across the ocean, in complete privacy. Cushioned couches in an open air dramatic living room, steps away from the pool, the stars, the sand, etc. The grounds are large enough and the sleeping accommodations private enough that our large group of 20 people never ever felt crowded. Plenty of space, private alcoves to disappear in with ones partner for a private sunset. Or join the whole group in the common area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and felt luxurious. The sheets and towels were nice. The staff was wonderful, they even arranged for a cook who prepared meals for us. The food was great. There are also approximately 5 restaurants within five minutes if you want to go out.The property managers, Alejandro and his wife Marianna were wonderful, inviting, intelligent and helpful. I hope that they enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them. Alejandro who owns Costa Nativa a tour guide operation, arranged several outings for us, including a hike through the Sierra Madras mountains, where we discovered native fauna and animal life, a walk that even children could join in along a river bed, ending at a water fall and clean pools to swim in. He also arranged a boat trip in a Mexican Panga where we felt comfortably safe and which took us out looking for sea life, in which we successful and within close range saw whales and sea turtles.Everything is within walking distance, additional restaurants, additional surf spots, etc. If you want beauty, outside of the sky scraper towers of the planned resort of Ixtapa, come 30 minutes by rental car, or taxi for approx $40 and visit Casa Majahua where you are much closer to the sand and the surf and real Mexico. As a visitor to the area many times, I would recommend Casa Majahua.

Casa Majahua was the vacation of my dreams! The house - brand new and beautifully, conciously built - is so absolutely gorgeous that my jaw was on the floor the first 15 minutes we were there. Pictures do not do it justice. When I finally managed to pick it up, the staff and the owners graciously and warmly greeted us with fresh flowers and guacamole with chips, and the rest of the week, as they say, is history. Perfect, perfect history. The practicalities? Let's see... there's an infinity pool, a swim-up bar, it is ON the beach, perfect for tide pools and whale watching, the casitas and beds in them are so comfortable, the breezes keep the bugs laregely at bay, and the village of Majahua is within very close walking distance for quick trips to the tienda. Alejandro & Mariana are amazing hosts who will help you with anything else you might need. The owners, Moira and Denni, are welcoming beyond compare and truly want you to do nothing but enjoy your stay. We loved every second and had to tear ourselves away! But we'll be back!!
