WHAT: If you’re tired of high hotel rates and want to stay in a safe shared space with your own bedroom read this whole posting. We think you'll be happy with our place. We are not a corporation or a hotel chain. We ONLY do this with one owner occupied apartment!
OUR INTENTION: Looking for an affordable clean place to stay while you job hunt, sightsee, attend a convention, etc? Get the real experience of living in Chicago! Our intention is to provide a short term stay for tourists, visiting lecturers, researchers, interns, conventioneers, and other professional people. We are gay friendly.
LOCATION: Rogers Park, a multi-ethnic, safe neighborhood that is 8 blocks from a beautiful beach, near Loyola and Northwestern Universities on the far north side of Chicago. We are just north of hip "Andersonville" with trendy eateries and gift shops. Our area has a Sushi restaurant, an internet café, a Peruvian and a Mexican restaurant a block away. We are close to many types of public transportation. A Metra train to downtown is a short walk (5 blocks). To drive anywhere we are near Lake Shore Drive. This takes you downtown or connects with several expressways.
THE APARTMENT: This is a CLEAN and cute second floor apartment in a charming four-flat with 3 bedrooms for rent (shared bathroom). It has in-apartment laundry, air conditioning, hardwood floors, and a renovated kitchen and bathroom. You will have one private bedroom with a locked door, double bed, TV, use of the kitchen and laundry. There's a common breakfast/sitting area for you to use near the kitchen.
EXTRA FEATURES: This is similar to a bed and breakfast situation, with a continental breakfast. We offer bagels or sweet rolls, coffee, tea and fruit each day of your stay. There is an outdoor patio and a parking space, if requested. We have a wireless connection for your laptop.
YOUR HOST: Your host Al has a separate room in the front of the apartment. Al is a friendly, quiet, mature musician who works on the computer in his room and is often gone. There is a small Chihuahua, Stella, who is friendly and stays in Al's room.
RESTRICTIONS: No smoking in the apartment. You may smoke outside. We ask that you not bring guests unless they are registered in advance. We ask you to be quiet and considerate of the other guests.
RATES: (2 night minimum)
MON TUE WED THURS: $50/night for 1 person; $60/night for 2 persons.
FRI SAT & SUN: $60/night for 1 person; $70/night for 2 persons.
Please book as far in advance as possible. Special event weekends may be slightly higher.
PAYMENT: You may prepay with PAYPAL to reserve your room. If you wish to make a one day deposit (refundable until one week before arrival date) with Paypal and pay the rest upon arrival you may do so.
