Al fresco dining and grilling on the deck or picnic table invites one to spend as much time as possible enjoying the spectacular water vista. Crabbing or fishing from the dock or watching the Herons, Osprey, and occasional otter are just a few of the ever-changing activities found along the water.
Explore our history. The Northern Neck has several historic and local attractions among them: Reedville Fishermen's Museum(has a working replica of Capt. John Smith's barge); Historic Christ Church (1735); Mary Ball Washington Museum; Stratford Hall; and George Washington Birthplace National Monument. Day trip Island cruises for Tangier Island or Smith Island depart from the Reedville area (seasonal). See the wildlife from the Rappahannock River on a cruise of the Rappahannock departing from nearby Tappahannock or take a ride on one of the two remaining free car ferries in Virginia. The closest ferry is the Sunnybank Ferry which holds two vehicles and crosses the Little Wicomico between Reedville and Ophelia. The Merry Point Ferry also holds two cars and crosses the western branch of the Corrotoman River in Lancaster County. Shopping, antiques, golf, vineyards, museums and Island Cruises are all within an easy ride. Recreational water activities are available for rent/charter.
At the end of the day relax with a stroll down Main Street in Reedville past the charming Victorian homes; watch the boats on Cockrell's Creek; enjoy ice cream at the Ice Cream Parlor; check out the daily specials at the local restaurants.
