Bask in the sunlight provided by the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Great Room overlooking the 300 feet of ocean shoreline.
Watch the changing ocean tides and wildlife. If you are lucky you may even sight an eagle or a fox!
Enjoy outdoor living on the large deck overlooking the ocean bay or explore our 8 wooded acres. Or just settle down with a good book in the hammock on the shore. You can kayak, canoe or sail a boat right out the backyard into the bay from the pink granite ledges leading right into the water!
The main level has a Dining Room, large fully-equipped Kitchen, half Bath, and a Great Room with a woodstove and entertainment center. Contemporary, tasteful furnishings accent the main living area with wide pine floors highlighted by oriental rugs. The music room on the main level also includes a twin daybed for that unexpected guest.
The fully carpeted upstairs includes a Master Bedroom with queen size bed, sofa, wing chair, and a private balcony, plus a television and DVD player. There are two more Bedrooms upstairs (one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds that can convert to a king bed), and a full Bathroom. The lower level has two additional Bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with three twin beds), a full Bath, a Laundry room, a large recreational Den with a ping pong table, and an additional woodstove.
The main level is handicap accessible, plus the lower level can be accessed either by a separate entrance or through the main level.

Please note: During the Summer Season rental weeks start on Friday after 4pm and end on Friday before 10am.

We enjoy our annual visits to this secluded home with its wonderful views across Herrick Bay. The home is private, quiet and a world away from the harried existence we live in the “real world”. Waking up with a yard full of wild turkeys or sighting deer on the property reminds us that coastal life at Sea Nest is a treasure. Located a short distance from Brooklin, this comfortable home is nicely furnished and provides ample space for you to share your holiday with family or friends. The nearby Wooden Boat School offers views of traditional, moored sailboats while walking the scenic grounds. The local roadways serve as peaceful bike trails. The Brooklin/Blue Hill area hosts a wide variety of outdoor activities, local restaurants, art galleries and local shops for your enjoyment. Sea Nest provides a unique escape from metropolitan living.

I stayed at the home on the kids' vacation. We relaxed and lounged in this beautifully secluded getaway. We enjoyed building a cozy fire in the great room while lounging on the couch overlooking the beautifully serene ocean. The peacefullness of the trees surrounding this wonderfully constructed home was absolutely what we needed to just escape! We enjoyed homecook meals, popcorn and movies. The occasional ping pong game downstairs was a hit! I cant wait to come during the summer and enjoy a kayak paddle, the local summerfest only coastal Maine can offer and the sun beating on the glorious mountains. Thank-you

The description of this property doesn't do the surroundings justice. There is a peacefulness there which soothes the soul. The house itself is well described, but much more cozy than something this big can be imagined. There's TV if you're an addict, but with the water right there, Mother Nature mostly outweighs anything us puny humans can come up with! There's great everything within a short drive. Wonderful restaurants throughout the area, great arts, Acadia National Park, etc. The property is impeccably maintained. Definitely a little corner of heaven! I return as often as I can & the owner is very responsive & responsible.
Owner response:This guest got so carried away that she misnamed my place! It is named Sea Nest, in hopes that the eagles on Herrick Bay will be convinced to build their nests here, rather than elsewhere on the bay.
