Condo easily accommodated 6 adults. Well equipped kitchen. Clean and well maintained facility. Beautiful seaside view. Snorkel equipment, boogie boards and beach towels provided. Owner helpful with information regarding local restaurants and attractions. Snorkelling beach 10 minute walk away!. Would gladly recommend to friends or family. Surf and Racquet club nice, quiet place to stay.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Before my tan fades, I wanted to write a review for this gorgeous property. My parents, two teens, husband, and I just had an amazing two weeks here. The unit is beautifully appointed with a fully-equipped kitchen -- with more kitchen gear than I have at home :-) – lots of beach things (including about half a dozen sets of snorkel gear), and a great location, on the ocean but close to everything else. We saw humpback whales many times from the lanai, tide pools (with fish, sea turtles, corals, urchins, sea stars, sea cucumbers, eels, etc.) are just steps away, stores are a few blocks up the hill (including a grocery store, drug store, weekly market, manta ray dive operation, and restaurants), and the best snorkeling on the island is a short half-mile walk towards town (at Kahaluu Beach Park). It’s also perfect for just sitting and watching the waves come in. Coffee farm tours (visit Greenwell Farms) and kayaking/snorkeling (Maile’s is great) at Captain Cook <25 min. away. Mauna Kea resort area ~45 min. away. Volcanoes National Park ~3 hrs. away (the best coconut cream pie at Hana Hou, southernmost restaurant in the U.S., en route). Individual units might vary at the Keahou-Kona Surf & Racquet Club, but this one is perfect in every way.

First of all, the owners are top notch and very helpful - thanks Wit & Darlene! As for the condo, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was a perfect fit for our family of 6 with 2 boys and 2 girls. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and everybody had plenty of space. Oceanfront, top floor, large deck and lots of “extra” equipment. There were two nice sized coolers to take to the beach, lots of beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, rice mats, portable sun umbrella, couple balls and snorkel equip (we didn’t use – rented in town), so we were set with all the equip needed to go to the beach. No beach right behind condo, lava coastline but beautiful and you could easily throw a rock into the ocean from the deck. There is a small beach on the north end of the complex but not that great for beach fun. Nearest good beach is pretty close though ¼ - ½ mile away Kahaluu Beach Park, good snorkeling & surfing but sand is in short supply and tough to get a good spot with all the other people there. The condo was pretty well stocked with all you need for cooking of course plus some dry goods left from previous renters helped to cut down the grocery bill a bit. There’s a community gas bbq a short distance across the parking lot. Kid friendly – yes. We were gone a lot from the condo exploring the island so we only used the on-site swimming pool once and did not play tennis either but both were available. There’s a golf course just to the south of the condos also. Gated entry into the complex so it felt very safe as well. All in all, I think it was a great stay for the money, great location not far from downtown Kona right on Alii Drive, rich sound of the ocean with your patio doors open, sunset view, lots of amenities, plenty of storage as well as tables/chairs inside and outside on the deck, yep, I’d go back tomorrow! For a great place to stay on the Big Island - it's a keeper!

Superb location and accommodations

My wife and I together with our college age children visited to attend a wedding in July 2010. We found this condo in excellent condition and very well equipped. Above all, the location is utterly fantastic. The ocean front lanai is among the most inviting places I have ever visited. We all decided we appreciated NOT having A/C since we probably would have had it on and would have missed out on the sweet ocean breezes and comfortable open air island living. We whole heartedly recommend this condo and envy anyone with the opportunity to visit!

This is a wonderful condo! Location is perfect, away from the Kona (cruise ship) hustle and bustle, but all conveniences close by: shopping center, restaurants, golf course, great snorkeling and sea turtles in abundance. The condo is well laid out and everything you could possibly need has been provided. We had six adults and it never felt crowded. But the best part of it all - the lanai. Being right on the water with waves crashing a stones throw away, you are constantly emersed in a 'Hawaiian experience'. As the owner told me when I was making arrangements with him.."you're gonna love it!" Truer words he could not have spoken!

Our party of five had a perfect week-long stay at this condo in December 2006. The location was excellent - with the shopping mall up the street, Kona within a short drive, and numerous land and water-based activites right in Keauhou. The condo was spacious, clean, comfortable, and very well-appointed. We spent most mornings on the large lanai watching the huge waves, looking for whales, and being amused by the birds in the palm trees. If our travels take us to the Big Island again, we will certainly try to stay here, and would definitely recommend it.

We just spent 8 glorious days at the Klimenko condo in Kona. The condo is clean, well appointed and has a wonderful lanai with incredible ocean views. Our choice of accomodations and location could not have been better. Thank you Witold and Darlene for making our stay unforgettable! John and Mel

My husband, two daughters and one of their friends stayed in this incredibly beautiful condo for 2 weeks in 2004. We had a wonderful time on the Big Island and it was made even more enjoyable by the wonderful accomodations. We are possibly planning another trip to Hawaii in 2007 and would most definitely consider staying at this condo again. The sunsets from this location are amazing! You can't get any more oceanfront than this condo.
