We arrived for four days of fun in the snow. We had fresh powder the first night. The living room was comfortable. The kitchen well stocked with dishes, glasses, etc. The beds were so cozy and the heated bathroom floor was great. The back yard was fun for making snow men and made us feel like we had more space. Goat Tavern a short walk away was a extra bonus for terrific dinners and friendly people. Thanks for a real Shasta experience.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Four friends met up here to xc ski for a friends birthday. The house was nicer than anticipated. Really cute decor. The open floor plan makes the house seem larger than it is. Also nice to have fenced yard for the dog. It is located central to everything, we walked to rent equipment and to have breakfast and dinner. The wood stove made for cozy evenings playing scrabble. It was clean and the second bedroom had a double and a twin. The bathroom floor had radiant heat which was nice on a cold a.m. Very well equipped kitchen and it has a washer & dryer. Couldn't ask for more for the price. Will stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

My husband and I along with two of our grown children enjoyed our recent stay at your Shasta rental. We also enjoyed the Italian fare across the street. It was probably the hottest few days of the year up there so we spent some time at the Lake and rented Kyaks. The master bedroom was the only room with an air conditioning unit so the kids were a bit warm at night with only a fan but we all had a good time nonetheless. The place was clean and comfortable and we would stay there again. It is very close to downtown and within walking distance from many shops and places to eat. Off street parking was appreciated and the nice little backyard was a good place to eat outside during the nice summer evenings. Thank youRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were 3 adults & a toddler staying for just 2 nights, and this place exceeded our expectations. It is indeed ideally located, within walking distance of a host of services, easy to find, not noisy at all, EXTREMELY CLEAN, decorated in a non-offensive way (everybody's tastes are different). The owners were easy to get in touch with, they were flexible with departure time, and helpful even at a distance. The only thing with this house, even though we didn't care because of the shortness of our stay and what we were doing, is that it doesn't get much light inside. It was hard to know it was sunny outside because of its location. However, you do get a peek of the mountain, and if you're out & about the whole day, the most important to us was the STOVE!! which was like a little inside sun and provided a few hours of entertainment... I would be back in a heartbeat. Thanks Lisa!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I loved the front porch and cozy chairs.....in the cool of the evening I sat with a glass of wine and watched the world go by. Even though the house is on the main street, the evenings were quiet. I enjoyed the open feeling of the house itself - nice flow from living -dining-to kitchen. The house was tastefully remodeled and clean. We ate at the Wayside Grill twice - really good food and friendly people. During the day we visited both McCloud lake and Castle rock lake and hiked at both places. Beautiful rivers, trees, nature and all clean and well maintained. I appreciated the prompt response to my questions by Lisa, as well as the quick return of my deposit. I would recommend this property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

The place is just like it is photographed: pretty, clean, and nicely remodeled. It is spacious enough for big families and it was in a very convenient location. However, I had some issues. For one, when we opened the refrigerator, it was not cold and there were ants crawling inside the fridge. It took us a while to clean out the ants and wait till the fridge was cold so we can use it. There was dog food on the kitchen floor and ants also crawling around the sink. Another issue was the internet. We tried 2 laptops, 1 ipad, and 2 cellphones and it still didn't work. The 2nd day worked but only if we connected it directly with the internet cord. The internet connection was on and off and very unreliable, making it difficult for work. Finally, I had some problems when I was trying to book this place. I was first told to wait a day to see if the previous caller is for sure booking it, then I called a day later and told me to wait another day. The 2 owners were inconsistant with each other and I got lectured about how the 3 previous callers bailed on her when it was none of my business. However, the directions on how to access the house and sending money was very clear and very easy and everything else went very smoothlyRecommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: Unfortunately the only internet company in Mt Shasta is sometimes unreliable, as owners we have no control over that. This particular guest wanted me to book them immediately for the dates a previous inquiry wanted and not honor them as first in line for the property. I tentatively reserve first inquiry 7 days for them to get the deposit and contract to me. I felt obligated to explain why we have structured that policy do to the pressure the guest was imposing on me. Also this peticular guest harrassed me to lower my price and not charge for extra adults. We feel our vacation rental is a extemely good value and we try to make every customer happy with honoring first in position inquiries.

Price, Location and Amenities can't be beat. The only negative was car noise due to location on the main street. Otherwise, the unit was clean, accommodating, and the owners were very pleasant to work with. Even with the traffic noise, I would rent here again in a minute.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We've stayed in many of the motels in Mount Shasta. This is by far a much better alternative to any of the local motels. Everything was very clean and organized. The bed linens and towels were all upgraded. Many comforts of home included, pots, pans, dishes, coffee pot, toaster, etc. The location was great for walking around town. The house was very homey and comfortable. We will never be able to stay in a motel again. Thanks for the great accommodations, John & Lisa! Comment Text: I almost don't want to share my comments because I want this cozy cottage all to my self. The accomodations were clean and cozy. The location was outstanding. We walked to the wine bar De Vino for a wine and cheese pairing the first night. The next day we walked down town to tour the shops and had "Maybe The Best Burger Ever" at Billy Goats. Then we went sledding and checked out the ice skating at the Ice Park. Came home for dinner in the perfectly appointed kitchen. Played some cards by the wood stove. Sat on the porch and watched the sunset. Next day we took the 15 minute drive to the ski park and had one of the best days of skiing ever. T shirt weather in February. My grandson took his first try at snow boarding. We got home changed out of our ski clothes and walked across the street to Mike and Tony's for my birtday dinner. It was the perfect weekend thanks to the perfect place to stay in our favorite city. We plan to come back again soon! The Mancasola FamilyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Lisa and Roy: I wanted to extend a big thank you for letting us use your cottage. We had a blast in Mt. Shasta and relaxed a lot during our stay there. The neighbors were interested on how your place turnout as they have seen you working on it and we were most impressed with the TL&C that you guys put into it. We walked through town, visited the caverns near Redding, took several hikes around the area, ice skating, drove up in the mountain, we also went to the movies and had nice a couple of meals on the local restaurants. Again thank you again and don't hesitate to use us as a reference! Regards Ricardo Pineda and family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Greetings, Just wanted to let you know that the girls and I had a great stay at your cottage even though I was sick the whole time.....the girls enjoyed the spa in town and we had our birthday dinner across the street at the (expensive) Italian restaurant. And you were right about the cottage having everything we needed! We will definately consider staying there again when we have a group trip. How soon can I expect the deposit?
