Fantastic and convenient location at one of the best ski destinations in the South Lake Tahoe area! If your not already familiar with Kirkwood, it has some of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain and some of the deepest snow in North America! The October 2007 issue of Ski Magazine featured Kirkwood on its cover and in the "Top 10 Ski Resorts for Deep Snow" - a whopping 638 inches of average snowfall! The '08/09 ski season was stellar and the upcoming 09/10 ski season promises to be "epic" with the El Nino forecast! And for those Cross Country Ski Fans, at over 7,800 feet, Kirkwood's Cross Country and Snowshoe Center offers over 80km of groomed trails with stunning views of the High Sierra and is conveniently located 35 miles south of Lake Tahoe.
Located directly across from the Kirkwood Mountain Village and main ski lift area, this approx. 600 sq ft condo unit in the Sun Meadows IV Complex provides convenient access to all resort amenities including meadow access for cross country skiing and snowshoe. The condo has a wood burning fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and TV & VCR/DVD, one covered garage parking space, and a mountain and meadow view. While it has the conveniences of the Village and Bub's Sports Bar next door, this unit is on the Meadow side of the building, opposite side of the Sports Bar and Restaurant, so it is quiet, especially at night.
Wake up in this condo and walk out the front door and your directly across from the Kirkwood Mountain Resort Village Pedestrian area and the Cornice and Solitude Chair Lifts (Lift #5 and #6). This cute 1 Bedroom 1 Bathroom Condominium can sleep 4-6 people comfortably. It is perfect for families with children, especially with convenient access to village and the shuttle to children's ski mountain area right out front and no stairs to climb.
The bedroom has a queen bed and daybed in it and the living room has a pullout double sofa and a daybed located over by the window overlooking the Meadow and up towards the mountain. The unit provides everything you need for your stay along with flannel sheets, bath towels and aromatherapy amenities and gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Come back to this unit after a great day of skiing and/or boarding and enjoy the wood burning fireplace in the living room and dining area. While this condo complex does not have its own pool or hot tub, guests at our unit can enjoy the use of the Kirkwood Community Association complex that has a heated outdoor pool and spas along with a fitness center - a short walk from the condo complex.
This one bedroom residence is our family's ski condo in the Winter and weekend mountain biking and hiking retreat in the Summer and when we are not using it, we rent it out. We take good care of it and it is one of the most affordable stays at Kirkwood for its location and condition.
We price it to rent and stay rented and we love repeat visitors and rewarding our frequent guests with free nights and discounts. We have a two night minimum (holiday periods are 5 nights minimum), and have the incentive to rent out for longer periods of time when available. Multiple bookings also receive discounts.
