Relax on the lanai or the circular sofa overlooking the ocean. Watch the sun set over the Pacific and the islands of Lanai and Molokai in front of you. And, since this is a corner unit, enjoy the extra side view down the white sand beach towards Black Rock from the floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows. Only 20 yards from the beach, it's the ideal spot to see humpback whales, monk seals, or dolphins! You might even spot a sea turtle!
In the morning, swim in the Mahana's private oceanside pool, snorkel in the coral reef out front or stroll along the uncrowded sandy beach below you. In the evening, enjoy a few minutes in the spa under the stars and fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping against the shore.

Separate A/C controls in the master bedroom and guest bedroom allow you to adjust the temperature for ultimate comfort.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and more, even a spice rack, to prepare a perfect sunset meal to enjoy at the beautiful marble dining table or on your lanai.
Three cable TVs (all high end flat screen LCD TVs), broadband high speed satellite internet and wireless access, CD stereo with iPOD docking, and DVD players add to your entertainment.
The living room and master bedroom both open onto your own private lanai/balcony with a table and 4 chairs overlooking the Pacific. The 2nd bedroom has wonderful panoramic views of the majestic West Maui mountains.

We have stayed at the Mahana 3 times, this by far was the best stay yet. This unit, 819 was First Class and it was like we lived there ourselves (or wish we did). All but the Food and Drink were provided, it was like we showed up at a friends house. This resort is quiet, and very nice for a family or a couple. It is never crowed at the Pool or the Beach. The view is beyond spectacular, you will not find a better place to stay for the price. The Sheehan's were great to work with and everything was handled very professionally. We had a most amazing week in this tropical paradise. The condo has everything we could possibly need. We will miss meals on the lanai, watching whales breach offshore, schools of dolphins parade by, and relaxed humans ambling down the beach below. We enjoyed snorkeling with turtles at Black Rock and just down the beach at Airport Park. A journey up the rugged northern tip of the island was filled with spectacular views, some nice hikes (the blowhole was impressive) and what is reportedly the best banana bread. We cooked in a lot, but highlights were two delicious meals at Mala and a fun lunch at Sea House in Napili. Thank you, Kathy and David, for sharing your comfortable and so well-equipped home with us. Mahalo! We loved spending a week in your beautiful condo. Your daughter's artwork is amazing! We loved the having coffee on the lanai every morning and watching the whales jump. Enjoyed grilling fish and steaks and shrimp on the grills by the pool. Whale watching and kayak and snorkel tours were awesome. We can't wait to come back. George & Lucinda. So many Mahalos to you both! We enjoyed every moment of our stay in your condo. Beautiful beach walks, breakfast on the lanai, pod after pod of whales. Loved the views of Molokai and Lanai as well as Black Rock. This was our second trip to Maui and by far exceeded our expectations due to the comfort and beauty of your vacation condo. Thanks again. Loved the furnishings, wonderful weather, seeing all the whales right outside the window. The wealth of Maui information in your "Guestbook" and other books in the condo was most helpful. It has been a few years since we we were here and a refresher was in order. Mahalo! Our stay was nothing short of wonderful. Watching the colors of the sky and water from your wall of windows and beach-front lanai has made for memorable pictures forever. Maui has been full of fun for all of us. And when the fun was over, we were able to return "home" to 819. Thanks for thinking of so many items that made our stay worry-free (fully equipped kitchen coolers, beach towels, beach chairs, etc.). Another day in Paradise! Thank you for opening such a gorgeous and inviting place - hope to return soon! After several visits to Maui, I think this one was my favorite - it was quieter than in condos near Whaler's Village but close to everything we wanted. Spent a lot of time at the beach and pool and we had lovely meals out too, but what was heavenly was waking to the sound of the ocean and the view was the best of all.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We both grew up by the sea, David in Ireland, Kathy in San Francisco and we always knew that however far away we moved from it, we would always come back. After we met in college, we traveled much of the world together, but it was Maui and the stretch of beach in front of the Mahana that captured our hearts. We first bought the condo next door to this one in 1977. Over the years, we returned to Maui and the Mahana for a month every summer. For our children, it was a second home. Now young adults, they still love coming back every chance they can. Once you have been to the Mahana, you’ll want to come back too!
Why the Owner Chose Mahana:
We fell in love with the Mahana in 1977. We were walking along the beach. The sun was setting between the islands of Lanai and Molokai. It was the most amazing sight! We turned around and saw Mahana. We knew right then and there that we had to buy one of these beachfront homes. For us it was the view and the view and the view! We bought our first Mahana condo (#818) then. We bought another condo (#708) in 2001 and this one (#819) from long-term residents in 2004.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
For us it’s a home away from home. In winter we love watching the whales, in summer it’s the dolphins and turtles. I love getting up to see the dawn coming up over the ocean. My husband is mesmerized by the stars. We all enjoy walking or jogging on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water, exploring all the other nearby beaches, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, Fleming Beach, Honolua Bay. We also love going to the Farmers market for fresh papaya and mangos and finding local fish to grill back at the Mahana. It’s the majesty of the ocean and the mountains. It’s the trade winds and the friendly people. It’s something else, totally special that is just impossible to describe. You have to come to Maui and the Mahana and you will experience it yourself!
