The Empress at Ka`anapali Beach is a legal hotel-zoned beach front luxury vacation home. Most other private homes on Maui are not legal. There are three legal homes on this beach, Sea Shells Beach House, Hawaiiana House, and The Empress. You will want to rent a legal home if planning a visit to Maui.
