We have stayed in this house for the past three summers for a week each July with our three children. Lake Alice is beautiful and the house is a wonderful place to relax on the lake. We have found everything we need in the house and have made wonderful family memories there. We intend to stay for an extended period of time this coming summer, our kids love the lake.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

We arrived to find the house was clean. What we did not expect to find the recently deceased owner's clothing and personal items still remaining in the cottage. We not only found her clothing in the closets and jewelry, but unopened mail and pictures of family, ect, etc. The pier was in shakey condition and had to have makeshift repairs to be useable. The lower level (basement) bedroom was very damp and cold. The toilet would not flush. The furnance room was just a door away and it was wet with about an inch of water. We called the current owner to advise problems and they came to fix the sump pump that was sticking and not draining basement water to allow bathroom plumbing to work. It was freezing cold overnight in the basement bedroom. A/C helped over the rest of the week to dehumidify this sleeping area. On Friday, one day before we were to leave the water stopped running. A problem with the well pump. We had had evough and packed and left. Do yourself a favor and cancel any reservations you have and find a nice place to vacation. The pier seriosly damaged my boat hull from uncapped steel poles. This rental was not ready for the general public's use.Owner response: This home is 4 years old and beautiful. The sump pump was fixed in less than 4 hours, and the wetness was water overflow, there was not any sewage overflow, and the toilet flushed. This was an unpredictable situation and the lower level became wet. Fans and de-humidifier have since dried it up. The switch on the well pump was also unpredictable. That was fixed the same day. Some personal items have been removed, some items are staying because it is a home and I prefer to have my guests feel at home. The pier settled over winter but is in fine condition. This lovely home is clean and beautiful, the lake is serene and is waiting to be used. WELCOME
