We stayed at Ripa Medici for 6 nights in April over Easter weeekend. The apartment was very comfortable, with beautiful views and a close walk to the Duomo, the Corso. Sabrina was very helpful and attentive. The apartment is perfect for a family of four or two couples.

Wanting a few days in Umbria, we selected Orvieto because of the Ripa Medici apartment. The stunning views, the immaculate apartment and Sabrina's hospitality exceeded our expectations. Orvieto is delightful, the town itself being relatively flat and easy walking. The "cliff trail" around the town, about halfway down the hill, is a little more challenging but exhilirating, Many good restaurants, our favorite by far is Zeppelin. The weather was nice enough that we also spent nice times just sitting on the wall outside the apartment. We rented a car in Orvieto Scala (the town below) for enjoyable drives to Assisi, Montepulciano, and --not to miss--Civita in Bagnoregio! Other interesting towns and wineries abound, but we kept coming back to our Ripa Medici apartment just to enjoy the setting and view.

We are a family of five from Canada. We visited Italy in August 2011 for three weeks, staying in four different rental properties. We have to say, B&B Ripa Medici ranks one of the highest. The property is beautifully and tastefully furnished, absolutely spotless, well appointed, and walking distance to the center of town. It is very rare that one would find a view as stunning and breath-taking as the one offerred through these windows. Thank you to Sabrina and Federico for going out of your way to make our stay in Orvieto welcoming, comfortable, relaxing, and memorable. We hope to return to B&B Ripa Medici sometime in the future.

I stayed in this apartment 9 nights, with friends visiting. Sabrina is a lovely hostess and readily available. The views and location are stunning and most of the amenities that you might need are there. The parking arrangement is also very handy and convenient. The kitchen is smaller and a different setting (internal) than in the picture and probably not where you would want to cook for 4-6 people, but is fine in every other way and of course we ate out most of the time or brought in local produce to eat without cooking. Orvieto is a beautiful town and the people were very friendly and welcoming. Everything is within walking distance. I did not go anywhere else in Italy, but stayed and just relaxed, taking in the sights and sounds, the architecture, people watching, shopping, enjoying the markets, wines, food and fun bars! (and very cute bar-men). Perfect! The walk around the walls of the town is also very pleasant and a chance to enjoy the surrounding greenery. Would love to go again.

Charming hostess Sabrina helped us with everything- from car park arrangements to restaurant suggestions and train schedules. She was cheerful and available. The four of us were very comfortable with two large bedrooms and two full baths. Orvieto was not crowded, the weather was perfect, and the location of the apartment was within easy walking distance to everything. We spent relaxing time sightseeing in town and thoroughly enjoyed buying delicious fresh vegetables and wine in the local shops, cooking pasta dishes in the kitchen, and dining at home overlooking the gorgeous green hills. If you have a car, we recommend the scenic route to Todi and Assisi through the gorgeous Umbrian countryside. Everything was perfect.

My family spent a wonderful night is this beautiful apartment. The view is spectacular and Sabrina went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of. Orvieto remains one of my favorite areas in Italy and I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in the area. Thanks Sabrina!!

At the last minute, my husband and I decided to visit Orvieto via the train on our way to Florence from Rome. We had contacted Sabrina the day before and we were thrilled to learn a bedroom was available. In fact we had the whole place to ourselves. As others have mentioned, the views from the windows are amazing and the bedroom and common areas are quite comfortable and lovely. Sabrina has done a beautiful job of decorating the space with great attention to detail. She is a very engaged owner who is quite charming, vivacious and very helpful. She prepared an amazing breakfast for us and we loved talking and laughing over coffee. The night before, Sabrina recommended a couple of places to eat dinner and we ended up trying the new Etruscan restaurant at the corner. It had just opened but the young owner chef husband and wife were charming and eager to please and it was very authentic food with beautiful ingredients. We were delighted that despite the rain we were able to explore Orvieto with hardly a tourist in sight. Unfortunately we only had time to visit Orvieto for 1 night but we would definitely return to stay again at Sabrina's charming bed and breakfast. Stephanie + Brad

My husband and I just stayed in Ripa Medici for a week. We had been to Oriveto twice before but only for one day each time. We knew we wanted to stay longer and found Sabrina's wonderful apartment here. We started in Milan and drove up through torrential rains and both Sabrina and the apartment felt heaven sent. The views, the views! We had mist in the morning a few days and it was wonderful to see the changes. The kitchen looks a bit different from the photo but is well equipped and as I love to cook it met all my needs. The whole apartment is spotlessly clean and both beautifully furnished and cozy. We didn't do as much exploring of the Umbrian hill towns as we thought, mostly because we were content to stay in Orvieto. We found many good restaurants and I was happy to be there with polenta, porchine and cinghale on many menus, Thank you so much Sabrina for making our Sunday lunch reservation at La Polumba. It was a perfect final meal in your wonderful town. Sabrina and Frederico also were marvelous to help us out when we thought our car had been stolen. In fact we had just gone to the wrong level of the parking garage! Calm Frederico...I send you a bacio! both you and Sabrina were a godsend. The apartment is one floor up so the stairs might be the only reason someone might not find this the ideal place. The parking was perfect with the parking pass and we loved looking over the city walls as we went to the parking elevator. As we both had laptops with us, the wifi connections were perfect for allowing us to get connected any time we wanted. This was most important for my husband who works as we travel. We were gifted with a great chocolate cake that Sabrina made as well as a bottle of Prosecco. As neither of us drink alcohol, the bottle remains there for you the next visitor! I have no reason to doubt you will love your visit.

My husband and I traveled to Orvieto with another couple. We took the train from Rome to Orvieto. Sabrina (our wonderful host) told us how to take the funicular up to the town and then the small bus to Ripi Medici. Sabrina was waiting for us and took us to our beautiful apartment. We were amazed at the location, the exquisite view, the spacious rooms and our fabulous host. Sabrina had an apricot tart from the local bakery on our table along with a bottle of local wine. She was very helpful in telling us where to go for groceries, baked goods, pottery etc. The apartment had everything we could want including two lovely bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a washer and did I mention the exquisite view? Orvieto itself was a delightful town. The cathedral is beautiful - we were lucky to catch a concert there one evening. Dining was plentiful and tasty. Shopping was fun – lots of great local pottery. The Gelato was amazing. We rented a car in Orvieto and did day trips out to Siena, Todi and Civita. We had to make ourselves go out, as we loved being in our “little paradise”. Sabrina provided us with a parking pass for the garage that was just down the way. All things considered, this was a perfect week in a perfect place. I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend Ripi Medici to one and all (who are able to walk a flight of stairs).

My two sisters, brother-in-law and I stayed at Sabrina's apartments for 5 nights in May, 2009. The apartment is everything as described and more. It is a perfect setup for four people traveling together by renting both apartments which have an adjoining living/dining area, or just renting one apartment for a single or couple. The views from all windows are fantastic, and the apartments are furnished beautifully. We can't say enough kind words about Sabrina, her husband,Frederico, and two beautiful children. They went out of their way to help us with directions, suggestions on dining, etc. I wish all innkeepers were like Sabrina. She welcomed us with a delicious cake and later in the week, her mother baked a tart for us. Who would want to leave? Orvieto is a jewel. We could have stayed longer, and definitely will return.

My husband and I have just returned from a month long stay in Italy. We spent 3 nights in Orvieto at Sabrina's B&B apartment. We can say that our time there was at the top of our favorite places to stay in Italy. First and foremost, Sabrina was an outstanding hostess with a warm welcome and delicious baked goods upon our arrival. She went far beyond what we experienced at many other apts, B&Bs and hotels during our stay in Italy. She assisted us with cell phone problems, directed us to all the best restaurants and told us all the sights to see. For those travelers with a car, there is very easy, covered, free parking just below her B&B and an elevator that arrives just outside the apartment entrance. The apartment is kept immaculately clean. The new hardwoord floors gleam in the light. The view of the surrounding countryside is outstanding from all the windows. The apartment is spacious with kitchen, living and dining room and bedroom with bath. She also has a separate 2nd bedroom with its own bath. This separate 2nd bedroom with separate entrance can be rented by itself or as part or the rest of the apt. There is a washer in the apt and there is a dryer on a lower floor. Being able to do laundry onsite was wonderful. We went sightseeing and came back to check on the laundry periodically. We enjoyed the apt so much we brought back our lunches instead of finding a restaurant. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sabrina and her B&B. There is gorgeous surrounding countryside and villages to visit and Orvieto makes a perfect homebase.

My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) just returned from two weeks in Italy. We stayed in Sabrina's wonderful apartment for 5 nights, and had an incredible time. The apartment has two large bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a well- equipped kitchen and living area. There is also a washing machine. Sabrina supplies lots of breakfast food, and also treated us to two of her delicious, homemade desserts. The apartment itself is in a great location for touring Umbria. It is also an easy one hour ride on the train line to Rome. Orvieto is a charming town- the nicest hill town we visited. There is lots to do in the town itself, including some great restaurants that Sabrina suggested. I would highly recommend basing yourself in Orvieto for a visit to the hill towns of Umbria. You won't be disappointed!

We have stayed in Sabrina's apartment twice, each time for a month, and we are already reserved for 2008. In our 15 years visiting Italy, this is the most perfect place we have stayed. It is ideally situated near everything but the really unique quality is the view of the Umbrian countryside. The apartment is filled with light from the three, large windows. The antique furnishings are very beautiful and unique. All this and then there is Sabrina. She is the most graciious and wellcoming person you can imagine. All this and Sabrina is also the most fabulous dessert maker you can imagine. She will do everything in her power to make sure that your stay is a perfect one. I couldn't possibly recommend this apartment more highly. A+
