We had vacationed in every spot in Florida, but the day we landed in Destin, Florida in 1999, we fell in love with it, specifically with Edgewater Condominiums, that we have vacationed only there since then. When we started looking to buy there in 2005, we saw our unit, recently renovated and very tastefully decorated, stepped in the balcony with its breathtaking beach view and in a few minutes decided this was it. Since we bought it, we made further improvements, adding tiles in the bedroom, so the unit is completely in ceramic tiles, purchased this year the top of the line pillow-top-mattress and added patio furniture.
Last year we also learned what we had been missing on when we spent Thanksgiving break there; Destin is at its best in the Fall and Winter time, warm and sunny, calm and entertaining. Our family enjoys walks on the beach, swimming in the heated pool, fishing, shopping in the 200 store outlet across the street, and dining in a wide variety of restaurants from casual to five stars. More often, we buy the freshest seafood ever at Sexton and fix, in our fully equipped kitchen, seafood dinners at home with lobster, shrimp, sushi grade tuna and salmon and a variety of fish. We go for gelato dessert at Sandestin, take a walk on the beach, then have the best dreams till we wake up by the sunrise and the sound of the sea!!
