Jan 2013 – Unit C618 - Hi, Kathy, I've been meaning to write since we got back....but you know how it goes, playing catch-up! We both want to tell you how much we enjoyed your Kihei condo. Of course, I had the advantage of having seen the online photos ahead of time and described it to June, but she was absolutely thrilled with the accommodations. I had a hard time prying her loose from the lanai which she enjoyed so much. The interior was lovely and so well-appointed, just as described. The sleeper sofa was comfortable for me & she loved having the bedroom. The information you provided ahead of time about local eateries, beaches, etc. was also so very helpful. We stayed close to home except for our Hana Road day and a few short excursions. The concierge service that arranged the Valley Isles tour was great, and the trip itself a delight. We had companionable minibus-mates and both got to enjoy the lovely views along the way. So glad I didn't drive it! I only cooked one meal - I had to have fresh ono & let June know how delicious it was. The kitchen was so nice and with all the amenities I needed (except the ingredients, of course!) The only thing we needed that wasn't in the condo was a nightlight by the sink. Since we're both at the age where a few trips to the loo in the night are the norm, we both decided a little light would help. Found a bargain one our first day out & left it in the room for others who might appreciate it. Absolutely everything else we could have desired was already there. Thanks again for all your pre-trip communications and for maintaining such a beautiful property. Your paintings are gorgeous!

Fabulous Location Across from Kam II Beach, Nice Condo, Nice Complex

November 2012 - Unit C617. The location is great, directly across the beach from Kam II, 5 minute drive to Wailea, and no more than 15 minutes from all of the Wailea and Makena beaches. The condo is very nice and stocked with everything one needs to cook and stay for a week or more in Kihei. Very nice view from the lanai of the ocean. Great value for the nightly rate. Our only dislike was the futon couch. While is fits the decor nicely, it's not at all comfortable and I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to sleep on. I would love to see it replaced with a comfy sleeper couch or recliner couch.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway

November 2012 – Unit D204 - Hi Kathy, We got back from Maui last Thursday morning, what a wonderful trip we had. Weather was perfect and the Freeland condo was just lovely. Also thank you so much for the welcoming basket of goodies, I loved it all, especially the pineapple and the Maui potato chips! I have since e mailed Frito Lay for locations to buy the potato chips, especially the onion ones but no luck. I put in Chicago zip codes, Cleveland, We have a daughter who lives there, but no where to find Maui potato chips. I guess only in Hawaii! Once again, thank you so much for all your help in finding the right condo for us. We will always have wonderful memories. My husband just through making up a picture album with all the photos he took, turned out real nice. Dolores M.

November/December 2012 - Unit C618 - Kathy, Aloha! Wow, what a fabulous 'new' kitchen!! We love it. New stove, micro, dishwasher, sink, taps...And a new vanity in the bathroom with great lighting! Once again, we have had a wonderful time in our home away from home!! We thank you! Golfing this trip has been the most reasonable - Pukalani was $66 for 2 and Elle Aire was $65 for 2. We again rented bikes with all gear in Haiku. Drove to top of Haleakala rode down to Kula. Had pizza and beer then went back up and repeated and then rode to Haiku about 30 miles in all! Out of this world! Going through lavender fields etc. Vegetation very lush! Great Aloha Friday gatherings at lower pool. Wonderful walks, swimming, and snorkeling. Restaurants we recommend Five Palms, Cafe au lea, Cafe on the Greens just a few favorites! Once again a wonderful time was had at our home away from home! Merry Christmas! See you in February. February 2012 – Unit C618 - Kathy, We just got back from your lovely condo yesterday. I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for the gift basket--it was very thoughtful and I LOVE pineapple. Thanks so much for sharing your home. We hadn't been to Maui before but we are in love with it. We did so many fun things (well, hiking and going to the beach, but that's what we like) while we were there. Your condo was so centrally located and well-equipped... as soon as we thought "I wonder if there is a...?" we would look and there it would be. Also, the convenience of such a delightful beach right across the street was just wonderful. Before the end of our second day we were planning our next trip. But as I looked through your guest book a fear stole over me... you typically have tenants for the whole month of February! And indeed, I've just checked your calendar on Mauivision and the whole month of February 2013 is booked! :( However, I see that your company also manages C617 next door. Is it available?

My husband and I's flight was the day after we had an interstate move and 5 days after he defended his dissertation. As you can imagine, we were burned out! For our accommodations, I didn't want to worry about anything: I wanted a clean, well-maintained place with a great location that was not a hassle to book. If this is what you're looking for, you should contact Kathy to a book a VRBO! I, like other reviewers, was nervous about using VRBO; I initially thought it would be much more safe and comfortable using an online vendor. My experience with Kathy, however, felt much more secure and personal. I wrote her an email, and in less than 24 hours she called me back. It was so refreshing to do business with something that wasn't automated! She was very professional, answered all my questions, provided photos and a listing of the VRBO. What I also appreciate is that there were no hidden/surprise costs, she broke every single cent down so there was no surprise. The condo itself is VERY clean, with everything needed to cook meals, towels, television, and wireless. It was also tastefully decorated, and the bed was fairly comfortable. Highly recommended!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

May 28, 2011 Dear Kathy McCartney at WeCare, Re: vrbo.com listing 15060 We recently stayed in Unit C619 for ten days at the end of May and I had to write you a customer satisfaction letter because our vacation was even better than we imagined! It was my first trip to Maui, and being a single mother of two teenagers, it can be pretty scary to book a trip on the VRBO. But you were terrific because you called me back , instead of emailing me and hearing your voice really reassured me. Then when you sent detailed pictures of the condo and provided lots of information about the area with so many helpful tips and suggestions that you gave me every confidence that we would get what we were paying for. In the end, we got much more, because the condo was so clean and it was fully equipped and when we had trouble with our internet, the person that takes care of the condo in Maui called right back and helped me fix it over the phone. The location of the condo Kihei Akahi is perfect, right across the street from Kamaole Beach 2 and within walking distance to Kamaole 1 and Kamaole 3, we were in the best part of Maui with no rain!! February 2011 - Unit C618 - Aloha Kathy, We are enjoying our stay very much in your lovely condo, it is beautiful and stocked with everything we could ever think of needing - especially love the views! Sadly, the time is getting close to when we have to leave. I can't find the email we got from you if there's anything else we need to do other than start the dishwasher, the sheets in the washer and garbage out... Your art is lovely, is there somewhere on Maui it's displayed? Also, I'm going to check my work calendar for next Feb when we get home but if you could pencil us in to stay in C618 around the same time for 2 - 3 weeks? Mahalo! Ray and Sharon

February 2011 - Unit C618 - "A Super well located Condo." We have stayed in Kathy's condo for the last 7 years.We stay for the month of November and February. January 2011 - Unit C618 - My daughter, my sister and I had a great girls' getaway at Kathy's condo C618 for 11 days in January. The location was perfect, right across from the beach, with views from our 6th floor lanai of both the sunrise over Haleakala and the sunset over the ocean! The condo is well-maintained and Kathy has provided all the comforts of home, including one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I think this is one of the best values in Kihei and we will definitely return. - Pat P. Canada

August 2010 – Unit C618 - We love the condo! We are just thrilled that it was way more than we expected and we can relax inside or outside of our "home away from home". :) A ginornmous MAHALO! I couldn't get a flight home with everyone else. :( and :) I managed to get a one way back on the 31st for $150 - score! Do you have vacancy for one more night? If not...no worries. July 9, 2010 - Unit C618 - I have stayed in this complex many times over the past 25 yrs C618 is like I say "Home away from home". Everything a person needs for a vacation in Maui. An awesome location, just steps from the beach, shopping and great places to eat. To sum it up I have allready booked for christmas!!! - Bernard C. Canada

March 2010 – Unit C616 - Hi Kathy, we are flying out late tomorrow. Is it possible to have a later check out? Whale season is at its peak. We are sitting on the lanai watching Kayakers observe a pod of whales right off shore. We went whale watching yesterday and it was amazing, the best 40 dollars spent. I will for sure be recommending this condo. It has everything you need and high end. We toured Makawao and Lahaina, the swap meet on Saturday in Kahalui (great bargains and selections), and a trip to the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (726 S. Kihei Road). That was lots of fun and informative. We checked out Big Beach (be careful but fun), Makena, and any others. Our favorite snorkel spot remains Ahihi Kinau Reserve past the love. Great spot. Turtles, a moray eel, a zebra eel, lots of tang and marvelous fish. We are looking forward to our next trip. Thank you! Jeff and Donna. PS We love your artwork.
