I have stayed at several VRBO's across the country and this was the most disappointing one of all. Upon entering it is very nice looking, but that changed quickly. The air conditioning never went below 80 and then started leaking all over the floor. The sliding door in the bedroom stuck and would not open, the refrigerator did not cool entirely and the ice maker was completely rusted out. The cushions on the couch are in bad need of re-upholstering as the stuffing is coming out. The vertical blinds in the bedroom are pretty much gone with so many missing slats, it is virtually worthless. There is a sliding partition between the bedroom and living room and that is broken also and off the track. This property basically needs a whole new overhaul .Every person monitoring the desk when you come in all agreed that the owner is the hardest person to get ahold of when he is called.I have never stayed in a place that was not stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and a hair dryer.

Manager response: The remarks indicate this was #183447 (1005) and not #150644 (905). The AC was repaired when reported, the bedroom sliding door was off the track and was later replaced on the track by the housekeeper, the refrigerator ice maker was disconnected years ago after tenants tried to make their own adjustments, ice trays in the freezer make ice, the vertical blinds are great in that they block the sun without elimnating the view, however, they are therefore relatively fragile and need frequent replacement by using spare individual slats. I am sorry the guest's stay was uncomfortable and will make all corrections needed. During the interval in question, I was recovering from a fall that resulted in a fractured pelvis and left wrist. My problem, not my guest's problem.

Well let me first start with the positive, the location is great, the staff is super friendly, plenty of parking and close to restaurants and shoppping. The view was amazing. It ends there.. My confirmation was for VRBO # 150644 but the pictures isn't of the unit we actually got. There were no sheets on the bed, we had to hunt around and dig them out of the dryer and put them on the bed. There were dirty wet towles on the bathroom floor. The garbage had not been emptied from the previous guest in all rooms. The light over the dining room didn't work, there was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom and no extra paper towels in the kitchen. The unit is adorable but needs work. The pet friendly patio was horrible, rusty, broken and sharp chicken wire, nothing safe or pleasing about it We couldn't let our dog out on the patio.. The owner was very difficult to get in touch with. The condos themselves are great but not this unit at all.

Manager response: Again, my apology as in the above review. It appears that while I was not in everyday control, somehow the guests were given the keys to #183447 (1005) rather than the intended #150644 (905), when at the time 1005 obviously had not yet been cleaned. I am very sorry. Will check the balcony pet barrier wire. Also, the light over the dining room table is actually a true candelabra with candles for ambiance.

We stayed at this condo April 3 rd to 6th 2011 This condo is an amazing find!! This condo is Very clean & beautifully decorated in a nice tropical decor. It has a Queen size bed over looking the gulf. You can watch the sunrise from your bed. An amazingly comfortable King bed in the master suite that is so comfortable if it wer'nt for the gorgeous view out of the sight of the master suite we never would have gotten out of bed. But the view won! This is absolutely a much better option than a hotel. The view from the condo's 24 ft private balcony is GOD sent. We watched a baby dolphin playing in the surf we It was so cool we were blown away. We loved it . We will definantly stay here again. We are already making our reservations. Very Highley recommended. We have been staying at different locations in Galveston trying to find a second home and renting your unit convinced me that we would like to make By the Sea Condo our future home. This was a delightful weekend getaway for our family. The owner is so delightful and very caring. I had family in from England and the view and the location could not have been better. We all had a wonderful time. Coffee on the balcony overlooking the Ocean is such a treat and the sunsets where beautiful. We will definitely be back. THANK YOU TREY.

About: I purchased my first vacation rental 16 years ago (when I had to advertise in newspapers) and did quite well and over the years I have developed a great clientele. To accommodate my repeat guests I now have 3 condos in one of the nicest buildings in Galveston. All of my condos are on the top floors in order to give my guests the best views. My condos are class acts, child and pet friendly and very well appointed. I am proud to make sure my new guests are happily surprised to arrive at such a wonderful place. What you see on the Internet can't quite measure up to all the details that go into making the guest happy. And the pictures don't do them justice. Being a native Houstonian I turned to Galveston Island and am so glad I did. IBC (Islander by Choice) At first the beaches attracted me but then I started to become part of the community. The Historic district is amazing and boasts the most historic homes and buildings in the nation. The Strand is excellent for shopping and the restaurants are terrific, especially the Seafood. There is also Schlliterbahn Water Park and Moody Gardens which I highly recommend. I like that the Island is small, only 30 miles long and 3 miles in width, its hard to get lost! The population is perfect at about 50,000 residents. All of the activities: Mardi Gras and Dickens on the Strand to name a few are great. I especially like the Art Walk nights that are staged every six weeks. No more room to write...come visit and enjoy throughout the year. See you soon.

Back balcony overlooks Schlitterbahn Water Park, Moody Gardens, Downtown and the Historic Strand area.
