This spacious cottage, retaining all old features-oak beams, rafters and fireplace with wood burner- is ideally situated to relax in and explore all that Normandy has to offer.
The cottage is situated 8 miles east of Mortain on the edge of a small hamlet overlooking fields and forests - a wonderful place to relax. The French colonial Moroccan theme blends into this old cottage-from the kitchen tiles to the sumptuous imported fabrics, rugs, light shades and some furniture. In the heat of summer the cottage is cool and in the winter warm and cosy-ideal for winter breaks. Outside is a private gravelled patio area where you can enjoy eating outside, surrounded by colourful raised flower beds and beyond is a lawn with swings for children - and a 4.5 metre plunge pool.
HOUSE DETAIL. The ground floor has a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area and off this is the bathroom. The second floor, under the roof with exposed oak beams are 3 bedrooms and a separate toilet.
Kitchen is well equipped with a large 5 burner gas cooker, microwave, electric oven, food processor, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric kettle, iron. Large table that will extend to 3 metres.
Salon has comfortable seating for 7. English TV, plus other channels. DVD and CD player. Large easy to use wood burner that heats the whole house including the master bedroom.
Bathroom has a bath over which is a shower. Electric towel rail which also heats the bathroom. Heating-wood for burner included in rent. Electric oil filled radiators in 2 bedrooms. Fans-table standing fans to keep cool in summer. Hot water-supplied 24/24 from electric tank.
Linen-Bedding towels, tea towels, toilet paper and cleaning products provided. High chair and cot available. Loungers for sunbathing.
Please note we do stay in the house adjacent and use the back entrance where the parking is. The cottage and garden are for your use only.
Shopping-nearest shops for groceries 5-8 miles. Local attractions-fishing for trout, outdoor heated swimming pool, go-karting, horse-riding, local markets, cider and Calvados farms.
ATTRACTIONS OF THE REGION
Beaches-nearest 40 minutes drive (37 miles) of fabulous sandy beaches with small villages with restaurants preparing sea food dishes-mussels and oysters being a speciality-at very reasonable prices.
Mont St Michel-48 miles.
Grandville-boat trips to islands-bird sanctuaries.
Paris-leave your car at Vire (24 miles) railway station-take a train.
Castles, ancient Abbeys, gardens.
World War 2 sites and museums.
Villedieu-Les-Poelles- "God's town of pots and pans" -the town where they make many things in copper and brass-in particular copper pans that no kitchen should be without.
Jersey and Guernsey boat trips too.
For children-adventure parks, boating, crazy golf, swimming pools, zoos, paint-balling.

Booking Conditions
Minimum stay 4 nights. At peak season the priority is for Saturday to Saturday bookings - out of the high season we are flexible. We ask for a deposit of 20% at time of booking and balance 5 weeks before the dates booked.
We ask for 100€ on arrival which will be returned on departure minus costs for damage if necessary. At peak times we ask for guests to arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am. No hidden extra costs. For more photos and further details please contact.
