My family and I stayed in this perfectly located condo from 5/7 to 5/20/2011. We have no complaints or suggestions as this was a perfect vacation. Our daughter is 21 months old and learned to swim in the very nice pool right behind the room.My wife really enjoyed laying out right in front of the lanai while our daughter napped . I enjoyed hours of snorkeling right out front with the turtles and nice array of fish. The lanai was used many times for breakfast ,lunch , dinner and just relaxing in the evening. Times supermarket down the street was perfect walking distance and had everything we needed.All the folks that live at Hale Ono Loa are very nice and helpful. Our new Home away from Home. We will be back and Thank You so much for the Great experience. The Ledfords.

My husband and I stayed at the Hale Ono Loa cottage April 15 to 24th, 2011 and I have to admit the location was amazing. We were 20 feet from the ocean which is protected by a 6 foot wall. Since only those who are staying in one of the 4 cottages at the ocean front area are allowed to walk in front of your condo, it is extremely quiet. Nothing is blocking your view! Turtles come up every day in front of the condo to feed, monk seals were in the area and we could even watch whales off in the distance. Dinners on the lanai were amazing with the constant lull of the ocean waves and the cool breezes blowing at night. The condo itself has everything! Tour books,beach towels, full kitchen, lounge chairs on the lania, etc, etc. We used one of the two BBQ's many nights and enjoyed our meals ocean side. I would definitely come back and stay in this unit again and would definitely recommend it to my friends. The condo location is walking distance to a coffee shop and small market. A little further, but still walking distance is a Grocery store. Perfect location. Thank you for the wonderful service booking the condo Lonnie and for having the phone fixed so quickly. I can not think of one negative commment to make...

Turtles and whales!

We stayed here for the first week of April with my husband, mother-in-law and baby. The condo is in a nice small quiet complex and the unit feels very private as it faces right out to the ocean. The ocean is literally 10 steps from the patio door. We saw turtles (lots) every day right out front, and saw whales a few times as we sat on the lanai. The unit was clean and well kept but we did have a few cockroaches but I think in this kind of climate there are often a few. The shower in the ensuite bath was great, with a rain shower head and body spray heads as well. The 2nd "bedroom" has a pull out couch and sliding partition wall to separate it from the main area. We knew this before we got there from the description and pictures but my mother-in-law would have way rather had a real bed and proper room. It would be just fine for kids though. If you want to snorkle right out front (if water is calm) you will almost be sure to swim with some turtles. And if you want to go to the beach, you can just walk down about 1 block and there is a nice little beack park. There is a little market and coffee place across the street from the beach park also. I would recomend this place to friends.

Loved our stay in Maui. Your home was perfect! Close to Lahaina, but far away from the crowds. Being so close to the ocean was so peaceful. Highlight of trip was whale watching and trip to Hana. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your lovely home.

This is such a lovely condo! The people staying and living here are wonderful. We even got to have a wonderful potluck and get to know some folks right here at Hale Ono Loa. So glad we came and we shall return to Maui some day... Thanks for sharing your beautiful condo with our family.

This was our third trip to Maui and this was by far the best lodging we've had. The condo is wonderfully equipped and decorated and has been very recently remodeled. It is literally steps from the ocean, and the private lanai made us want to rush "home" every night to see the sunset. There was plenty of room for the whole family and we loved watching the turtles every afternoon and snorkeling in the reefs from right in front of the unit. The condo pool was great, and steps from the door. We enjoyed BBQing while the kids played in the pool. It should be noted that there is no swimming beach directly in front of the condo, but we could walk with the kids along the wall to a nice sandy beach about 30 yards down. We enjoyed having the internet connection available to look for activities in the area and stay in touch with friends and family. (as a note, we did have connection issues from about noon to 6pm for some reason). We will definitely be returning to this condo on our next visit. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Best lodging in Maui

We just returned from Maui 5 days ago after a wonderful week in this unit and are already counting the days to return. The location was perfect, close enough to several great beach parks for boogie boarding, Kahana and Lahaina for dining out or shopping, yet very secluded and quiet. There is a water sports rental location a few blocks away for snorkel gear and boogie boards, a Farmer's Market, and a great grocery store as well. The waterfront was perfect for snorkeling, there was a stairway to access the water and a reef where turtles were spotted every afternoon feeding. We didn't have to leave the property for some great snorkeling! The unit had plenty of room for our family of 2 adults and 3 teens, the 2 bathrooms were great and very nicely finished. The complete interior was newly remodelled, up to date and nicely maintained. There were beach chairs and a small cooler for beach pick-nic lunches and patio furniture for waterfront dining. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals on-site, and this unit is the closest unit to the poolside BBQ as well. The swimming pool was just a short walk from the main entry door, the unit was seperated from the pool area by some beautiful foliage (Birds of Paradise included), and the waterfront really is about 7 steps from the rear double wide sliding glass door. We left the slider open at night and locked the screen doors so we could hear the waves all night. There are also 2 air conditioning units, 1 in each bedroom that can keep the whole unit cool, but was rarely needed with the wonderful cross breeze and ceiling fans. The manager was always available to answer questions about the unit, and was very helpful to ensure a great stay. We are planning our return trip already and plan to stay here next year if the kids accompany us, and what teen wouldn't want to stay waterfront in Maui!

After looking at several options for our vacation, we decided on the cottage near Kaanapali and were glad we did. We were so near the ocean we felt like we were right in it. The unit was beautifully remodeled and had everything we needed.The cottage is very private and so comfortable. The property was lovely and the pool was awesome. We are sure to return and will tell all our friends.
