This west-facing villa is set on the leeward side of the Big Island or Hawai'I Island atop an ocean front bluff that stretches between the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince resorts. Mauna Kea resort was hand selected by Nelson Rockefeller in the 1960's as the premiere resort site in Hawai'I when he was presented by the State of Hawaii with his choice of sites throughout the islands. Traditionally, Mauna Kea has the driest weather of all resort settings in the islands. Use of both postcard perfect public sandy beaches is available to guests as well as resort charging and other resort services as if a guest of the Mauna Kea or Hapuna Prince hotels.
Guests will be enthralled with the spacious floor plan that places seven bedroom suites comfortably spaced apart, each with private bath; some with outdoor private showers; and two master suites have in-ground hot tub/spas with outdoor showers in an enclosed courtyard. Four of the seven bedrooms are on the pool and ocean side of the villa and have ocean views. Another ocean view bedroom suite is located on the upper level and has two queen beds, a separate parlor with full entertainment system, computer, sofa bed, wet bar/fridge and a spacious outdoor patio with teak lounging and dining furniture. Some of the bedrooms also have sofa beds.
The expansive Great Room opens onto the pool patio offering ample room for entertaining family and guests. The formal dining area offers indoor dining for 14-16 persons at one enormous table in the great room next to the kitchen. The outdoor patio has informal dining/seating for the same number of guests.
There is a separate family/entertainment room, which includes a 46 inch flat screen TV, a VCR/DVD/CD/Stereo entertainment system, a computer work station, various books and games, an extensive DVD/CD library and a state-of-the-art Karaoke machine pre-loaded with hundreds of songs and four microphones.
The billiards room includes a large flat panel Pioneer TV on the wall, a full bar with assorted spirits, filtered water with ice maker and refrigerator, sink, 4 leather bar stools, hand-made koa wood pineapple motif billiard table.
The huge, center-island gourmet kitchen features wrap-around counter seating which faces the great room, pool and ocean; double Sub-Zero refrigerators; an expansive assortment of kitchen goods, service ware, etc. Thermador professional gas range with 6 burners, dual gas ovens, dual convection ovens, warmer drawer, dual sinks, and a full array of commercial quality small appliances (including an espresso machine) - everything that a gourmand or professional chef would require.
