Incredible cabin, Lake side, Lake Pend Orielle. Only 6 miles to Schweitzer Ski Resort. Fantastic snow this year. This cabin is great because you are a hop and skip away from downtown Sandpoint and an easy and short drive to Schweitzer. Just went skiing there and the snow is incredible.
This four bedroom lake side (within 150+ yards of Lake Pend Orielle and right next to one of the most fun inlets of Lake Pend Orielle) vacation home in the new Dover Bay development,Idaho near Sandpoint, Idaho is the perfect vacation site for a family that wants to take in a lot of the outdoors and create memories with their family. Great fishing in this outlet. I have the poles in the cabin or you can bring your own. Try fishiing off of the Dover Bay marina docks and catch bass and trout. We caught many this last trip.
Our family resides in Southern California and began looking for the perfect outdoors getaway and after years of research we landed in Dover Bay, Idaho. Dover Bay and Sandpoint are the absolute coolest small towns. They used to be primarily a logging town which has converted to a visitors paradise but still retains that small town feel and pride.
This area of the country has everything you can imagine to keep yourself and your children busy. There are endless trails in the Dover Bay development. Biking, hiking, bird watching, sightseeing and all water related activities are at your finger tips. Make certain you bring a camera as you will see some great wildlife moments in this area with your family. Early morning and evening walks along the many paths of Dover Bay and Sandpoint are a must. A couple of walks into town will give you all of the exercize you need while staying in the cabin. And now the lake activities start...
The Lake is beautiful and is over 45 miles long. This large lake with feeding rivers is a boater's fantasy lake. Bald eagles and other rare birds can be seen regularly on this lake. The local wildlife includes beaver, rabbit, squirrels, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, turkeys, pheasant, bear, moose and many other wild animals rarely seen anywhere else. Migratory birds like various breeds of ducks and geese are all over the area. You can spot many heron that frequent the lake among tons of other birds that I don't recognize. Bring your binoculars and cameras.
In addition to the fantastic mammal life there is some of the best fishing in the country. The lake has personal access for boaters wanting to hook up with that lunker lake trout or there are several local charters that you can contact and work out a day of fishing. There is local fly fishing, lake fishing, stream fishing with many different varieties of fish.
There is a large gas barbeque on the 900+ square foot wrap porch for your use. What a great place to hang out with the family and enjoy a meal or conversation. Plenty of seating on the porch for you and your family.
The home is internet equipped. The home has a television in every room including three flat screen TV's for your ultimate viewing. All of the TV's are equipped with cable. There are beds for 10 but we also have a few floor mats for kids or adults to sleep on if necessary. This house can also have someone sleep on the couch if necessary. If needed, we can bring in some add'l mats. The house is situated in a manner that allows the people in the family room to enjoy themselves without the noise of the kids upstairs. Very well separated.
This home was designed as our home and not as a rental. We have furnished with beautiful country furniture and all of the amenities you can possibly imagine. For this reason we ask all renters to treat the cabin as if it were their home and leave in the same condition as they found it. This is one of the only 4 bedroom, fully furnished rentals in this direct area, so please book early and enjoy.

- Beautiful new home/cabin is very close to the Lake and inlets, Home has 5 televisions including 3 flat screens, Extremely nice beds in each bedroom. Both downstairs bedrooms have firm king beds. One master bedroom has a California King bed.

Why the Owner Chose Sandpoint
This was an easy decision. If you want to get a huge rush of the outdoors and still have a small quaint town to visit, your choices are limited. In addition, we wanted a location that was just as desired for the winter as it was for the summer. Schweitzer Ski Resort is amazing with timberland skiing and no/little lines. The mountain is amazing and the Lake Pend Orielle is extremely nice. Big lake with lots of little towns and destinations around. A photographer or outdoorsman's dream. This is why, EASY.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Sandpoint - Quaint little town with remarkable restaurants and shops. Great people. Bike Trails. walking trails. The best lake in the world, Lake Pend Orielle. Schweitzer Ski Resort is incredible. Lake Priest and Cor de Alene are also nice. Great fishing. kayaking. hiking. biking. Clean air and water.
Photography opps with all types of mammals and birds. Last of the wilderness. This is much like Lake Tahoe except set in a very natural wilderness that you just cannot find anymore. It is INCREDIBLE. Tahoe has all of the traffic and polluction, etc. Sandpoint and this general area of the country has all of the undisturbed nature. The farther north you go, the more remote and natural it becomes. We've had moose on the property, bald eagles and osprey are abundant. The deer run across the property and these are the small things that mean the most to us.

We just spent four days in this beautiful cabin just moments from Sandpoint. Those who ski/snowboard spent two amazing days on the slopes with fresh powder and one day a view all the way to the lake. March Madness was enjoyed (as well as several movies) on the big flat screen tvs. Meals were prepared in the well stocked kitchen. On our way into Ivano's for our one "eat-out" meal we spotted two moose hanging alongside a creek near the roadway. Brian, Cheryl and Allen were all wonderful!

We could sum up our stay in this beautiful home with just one word: Fabulous. Our children and grandchildren (12 people total) all joined us for a weekend of family fun under one roof. We were on a mission to find a quiet place to relax and enjoy the Christmas season without the pressures and time constraints that the holiday itself often brings to everyone. The home is beautiful. The owner's have furnished it for themselves rather than a rental place and it's obvious. The furniture is comfortable and beautiful. We loved the modern kitchen that was stocked with all of the utensils we needed. With preparing meals for 12 people, it was nice to have some of the "extras" that the kitchen provided like the warming drawer (wonderful invention!). The gas fireplace had the wonderul rustic appearance that we wanted for our escape to the country with the added plus of "flip a switch" ease. The beds were very comfortable and the master bedroom/bath are both very spacious. ------ This was our first attempt to try something new for our family Christmas and it was a complete success. We left with great memories and looking forward to doing it again next year. Thank you, Brian and Cheryl, for sharing your beautiful home!

The house itself was beautiful inside and out. very niely decorated and provided many comforts for all of us. It took us a bit to figure out how to use the remotes for the tv and stereo/dvd set up but with perserverance we girls were able to figure it out. The only drawback we came across in the bedrooms was one set of bunkbeds the women thought was way to claustraphobic for adults to sleep on and were really only meant for children. I wish there were a dvd player in the master bedroom. Even tho it had satelite tv. We loved the deck and the outdoor fireplace. The view off the deck was not so appealing tho. there was a area dug out that was filled with water. Probably soon to be another house and with the heavy winter had just been flooded. So not the owners fault and maybe the convenants dont allow a fence to hide the eyesore. We all wished we could own a place like this but in a different location to allow for more privacy when outside. But it certainly is a beautiful home.

We had 11 people staying in this house for three nights over MLK Jr weekend to ski, hang out, and make merry. The house is GORGEOUS, all newly furnished and so great for groups. Flat screens everywhere (great for the big day football games!) and 2 gas fireplaces. We particularly loved the appliances in the kitchen and the master bathroom with his & hers sinks, huge double-headed shower, etc. The owners, Brian & Cheryl, are so friendly and accommodating and I can't wait to come back here! It's not too far from Sandpoint (3 minutes driving) and we snowshoed in on the bike path which runs right near the house into town. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
