This was the second time we have stayed in one of Alan's Little Houses, and we have already reserved a spot for next year. We love it there! The houses are very clean and well-appointed. We've stayed in numerous VRBO houses throughout the country, and these are our very favorites. There is plenty of room for our gear, both indoors and out. I just wish that the double bed in one of the guest rooms was a queen size. The house is actually a lot nicer than shown in the photos. We brought our kayaks and paddled down several nearby streams every day, except the rainy one - and then we visited the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. The last time we were in Niceville, we went to see Fort Pickens, and that was interesting too. We also had our bicycles with us, and Alan provided a secure covered area to store them. Perhaps the best thing about the houses is that Alan is always available, and makes it a point to check to make sure everything is working and the guests are happy. If there's a problem, or you need some kitchen item, he is wonderful about fulfilling your request. He's the best!

This was truly a home. Every inch was SPOTLESS! Alan is a fabulous host and has everything a person could want or need. We can't thank you enough for a great "Gulf" vacation. Minnesota is pretty far away but hope to make it to "Niceville" again sometime. If you are looking at this place do not hesitate to rent it. You will not be disappointed!!

The house was beautiful and equipped with anything you could possibly need. It was spacious and yet homey at the same time and the owner's hospitality and personal touch was the cherry on top. I would highly recommend these lodgings to anyone looking for a nice place to go on a staycation or as an Emerald Coast launching point. :)

We needed a place for the whole family to stay (adult children and all) while visiting my in-laws. This vacation home delivered an affordable, comfortable, clean, and spacious atmosphere where we all could gather. My in-laws especially loved it, as their tiny home only has one window air conditioner and this rental house had central air, plus plenty of room for everyone to have a seat and visit -- so we spent the majority of our time here. We loved being able to put together lunches in the kitchen, barbecue dinners on the porch, do our laundry when needed, etc. The owner was friendly (we really appreciated him giving my in-laws a tour before we made a final committment) and the house is exactly as described. The only complaint I had was that there are two other rental homes in the cul-de-sac (same owner), which are mentioned in the ad, but even though we requested pictures, availability and pricing, these were never delivered to us. It would be beneficial if each home had their own page and details. Also, it was a bit frustrating working with the property manager, as I had to email more than once to get a response and, once I paid the deposit, there was no acknowledgement and I again had to email to find out how to finalize everything and gain access to the house. A more proactive property manager would have been appreciated. However, everything turned out fine and we couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations (and our deposit was quickly refunded a few weeks after the end of our stay). We would recommend this property and we would (and will) stay here again on our next visit!

Owner response:While I am glad you had a pleasant stay, I'm sorry there seems to have been a miscommunication regarding our Little Houses. They are all priced the same and are all very comfortable and clean. It was my understanding that your in-laws would take a personal tour of our Little Houses and report back to you regarding them, which I know they did. Our rental agreement which you received, explains the rental balance payments, procedures, etc. I'm sorry, but we do not provide check-in instructions until full payment is received. Upon your full payment, an e-mail was sent providing you with instructions upon arrival. Your deposit refund was returned 4 days after your departure, you should have received it within the week of your departure. So sorry for the misunderstanding but we are glad you enjoyed your visit and our accommodations. We look forward to accommodating you in the future! Linda Griffin, Property Manager

So impressed with the attention to detail for a guest. Music was playing as we walked in, a bottle of wine waiting in the kitchen, it was such a wonderful way to begin our stay. The only thing missing was laundry detergent and the next morning it was by the front door without us saying a word. Can't say enough about how welcome we felt. Will definitely come back.

This is a very special house. We loved it. It was sparkling clean and it felt extremely roomy, spacious and new. It has absolutely everything you need. Do not take a dryer, an iron, bandaids, detergent, crockpot, soap, even shampoo. Just relax and enjoy yourself. I almost want to keep it a secret...but then he might stop offering it. We came down for a sailboat regatta at Fort Walton Yacht Club and stayed the week going to the beach. We enjoyed Henderson State Park in Destin. We also stopped by Turkey Creek in Niceville just a couple miles from the house. It is a real unique nature park. You can tube down the creek and really relax in the wilderness. The marina and boat slip is terrific. There is even free ice for your cooler and a nice gazebo and deck to enjoy sunsets, all just a few steps from the front door.

Alan was a fantastic host. The house was imaculate. Linens, towels and home like amenities were all very nice. Even new toothbrushes were sitting on the vanity sinks for our use. Great place to share with friends. Seperate rooms opposite in the house. All the amenities you would ever need. Great people at the marina. Slip was fantastic across the street. We will be back says it all!
