This log home was beautiful. Rustic, beautiful and comfy. This home had everything we needed. Dru (the owner) and her son greeted us and walked us through the home incase we had any questions. Her son made all the head boards, log structures, deck, dining table and some night stands. He is talented. Cleanliness is the most important thing to me and my family. Everything was so CLEAN. There was room for everyone. While there, we grilled out most of our stay. The Kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need. There was room for everyone to sit down and have family breakfasts and dinners. The home also has a washer and dryer which was also important to our family. Traveling with 18 * 12 * 11 year old boys, a washer and dryer is a must. You do have to bring your own detergent, which was ok with us. The deck on the back porch was so relaxing because it is right on the Yellowstone River. The cool breeze and the sound of the water rushing by was so relaxing. Most of our dinners were eaten outside. My family was very happy with the accommodations here. Be sure to read the book Dru leave on the table about the history of the first Dude Ranch in Montana, The OTO Ranch which is preserved right up the road from this log home. Dru was great to talk to and is a wonderful host. You will not go wrong with spending your vacation here in this Hand Made Log Home! We will be back.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: I enjoyed meeting your family and glad you enjoyed your visit to our area! We thank you so much for leaving the lodge so clean!

If you are thinking you are interested, then you need to rent this home!!! The owners are wonderfully easy to work with. When discussing the home (cabin), it is exactly as stated. We had 4 families (with adults kids), 12 people total sleep very comfortably in this cabin. Wonderful open areas (living room, deck) for all to eat/talk/have fun. Nice large BBQ on the deck with plenty of seats. Owner is honest and would stay here again any time. The description is as stated. If you have question, ask the owner and you will get a good feel for the layout. Property was clean and well maintained. The location is about 10 miles from downtown Gardiner adjacent to the river. It is away from the hustle and bustle and the cabin sits on the far end of the property away from the road. Location was A+.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We found the lodge to be more than expected from description. The views of hill sides,Yellowstone River, elk, rafts, fly fisherman, bald eagles, birds, etc. were so magnificant, that we spent two full days going nowhere - just stayed on lodge's balcony patio. Lodge owners were wonderful and friendly communication for past 9 months make it seem like we were friends even before our arrival greeting. Owners advice was "right on" regarding expectations of surrounding experiences - Gardiner, Yellowstone, restaurants, grocery stores, shops and prices. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen, eating area and family room provided more than adequate space for out group of 10. people. Some of our group had a blast "white water rafting". Others, shopped until they dropped in Gardiner. We all enjoyed the Yellowstone Park adventures. It was a great vacation and will definitely recommend Lodge #2 to friends. Again, the owners are genuine and personally take an interest in ensuring we had a relaxing and enjoyable visit to this beautiful area of Montana & Wyoming.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

I recently stayed with my family and extended family (11 total, including a baby). The home was comfortable and very large. The kids had alot of room to play outside and inside. The downstairs room with the twin beds was a great hideaway for them to play. The river was very full, so access was very limited right outside of the home, but a short drive up the road had plenty of access. The drive into the park was quick and easy so we spent alot of time in Yellowstone and alot just hanging out. We did the horseback riding and river rafting through Wild West and it was icing on the cake! We planned on cooking every meal and packing sandwiches on our day trips which worked out well. The cookware was available, but not in the best condition so you may want to bring your own if you know you will want it (pans, large bowls, griddle, knives). Gardiner is a cute town with many restaraunts too! We would totally stay again, Dru was kind and hospitable. Thank you for helping make a vacation to remember!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

House #151009 was a perfect fit for our family of 10 with 3 teenagers. There was enough separation that the teens could go off by themselves if they wished yet could be with the rest of the family if they wanted. The house is conveniently located to take advantage of YNP and all that it offers. The owner had excellent suggestions for rafting, fishing and riding businesses.............and an excellent suggestion for a VERY local hike which we found most interesting. We had a great vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our group of 10 just returned from the Yellowstone River Lodge 2 and it just may have been the best vacation we've ever taken. Yellowstone, Grand Teton NP and the surrounding areas are incredibly beautiful and will take your breath away. The lodge was the perfect place to come back to after a busy day in the parks. It is only about 10 minutes from the north entrance to Yellowstone. We found the sleeping arrangements very comfortable and found the kitchen well equipped to cook several meals for our large group and room for all of us to sit at the same table. The back deck facing the Yellowstone River was wonderful - many beautiful evenings were spent out there watching the river and the mountains just beyond it. Dru was so accomodating and so kind to us and made us feel like part of her family. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay! We will never forget it!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We vacationed with our adult children and grandchildren to Yellowstone the 3rd week of August and our stay in the Lodge was perfect. Plenty of room for 11 of us, and a large yard for kids to play in such a beautiful location. Very convenient access to the park and Gardiner. Accommodations were more than adequate, and everyone was very comfortable. The owner even called to be sure everything was okay. We loved Yellowstone River Lodge #2 and will continue to use VRBO as well. Don't miss checking this one out if you're visiting the Yellowstone area.Did you find this review helpful?
