Nicely remodeled home in fabulous neighborhood with all new landscaping. Separate studio off back yard. Studio has phone, desk, sectional sofa and sink - no bathroom. Enjoy a fully fenced and private backyard complete with bluestone patio, grass, sun umbrella, table and chairs. A very old and prolific meyer lemon tree graces the backyard and provides fruit all year long. Tropical plants, roses, hydrangea and mature landscaping create a relaxing environment. Parking? Never a problem in this location.
Kitchen and bath were recently remodeled. The kitchen is well equipped for any cook and boasts stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. An extended counter for seating allows the chef to enjoy company while creating a masterpiece! Hardwood floors throughout house.
A new flat screen television has been installed on the living room wall and furniture has been recently updated!
Walk or bike everywhere! Restaurants, supermarkets and shopping are all only moments away. Downtown is a 15 minute walk.
Jump on the bike path that is only 3 blocks away and will lead you to San Francisco or central Marin. Easy location for commuting to San Francisco, wine country and central to many activities.
Sycamore Park is down the street and perfect for younger children.
Mill Valley Community Center is a five minute walk from the house. There is a pool and fitness center that you can access for a small fee as a non-resident/visitor. They also have scheduled water aerobic and exercise classes that you can find on their website. Local tennis courts are walking distance and may be used for a moderate fee paid to MV Parks and Recreation.

Overall the rental was wonderful. It was in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to many restaurants, shops and cafes. We were traveling with young children and we were able to ship some of our stuff ahead of time. The owner was very helpful with that and answering questions and concerns we had ahead of time. The downside was some of the photos did not accurately reflect the amenities available at the rental. The heat lamp was outside on the patio but it did not work. We were there in the spring when it would have been nice to use in the evening. There was also a grill outside but the propane tank was empty. We purchased two and left them behind for the next visitors. In addition, the comfortable chairs and umbrella were not outside on the patio. The table and chairs that were on the patio were a bit old, rickety and you had to watch out for splinters. Nor were they comfortable for enjoying the California sunshine. The dining table could not be used for dining either because the owners had set up the TV and DVD player on it. Which were nice to have but they need a new location so families can enjoy meals together. Some of the upgrades to the house were done very tastefully. The remodeled kitchen and bath were a joy to use. And it was fantastic to have a washer & dryer on site too. The property was very clean when we arrived. However, the couch in the living room sheds feathers like you wouldn't believe. It was next to impossible to keep all the feathers off the floor and off of you. And forget sitting on it if you have allergies. My husband was banished to the uncomfortable dining room chairs everytime we hung out in the living room. Fortunately, there is so much to do in and around San Francisco that we didn't spend too much time at the house. In the end I would return but only if the owner made a few changes mentioned above.
Owner response:Thank you for the thoughtful review of our property. Upon receiving the review, I was able to to identify the concerns and have made changes in regard to all issues. There is a new couch in the living room, new dining room table, a new flat screen TV has been mounted on the wall in the living room and a new chair installed in the living room as well. New photos have reflecting these changes have been submitted to the site. It was unfortunate the heat lamp was damaged during the winter months and I was not aware of it. New and improved outdoor furnishings have been ordered. In summary, it is important to receive feedback on your rental. It is very nice to have these types of comments brought to our attention in a conversation during the stay or note upon departure. As mentioned in the review, we go out of our way to help visitors obtain information on the area, facilitate special needs and help make all stays enjoyable. In addition, we have opened up a small studio off the backyard that is now part of the rental. It has a desk, sectional sofa, and telephone. It also has a sink area and is helpful for outdoor entertaining. It is off the fenced-in backyard and can serve as an office or family area.
Recommended for:Families with young children, age 55+.
