If you’re looking for a beach vacation for the entire family including the dog, look no further. Port Aransas is an economical Gulf Coast beach town ideal for a weekend escape from the daily grind. The small town has a big atmosphere with plenty to do. Enjoy the large beaches and calm waters which are ideal for families. Go fishing on a private charter. Shop or dine in one of the eclectic shops and restaurants.
Pack light when you load the car for your trip to this home. This vacation rental home has all the beach gear you need. It is well equipped with a cooler, wagon, beach chairs and beach toys. Man’s best friend is welcome at the rental, so use the extra space in your car to bring your dog. He can accompany you at the beach, relax in the shaded, fenced back yard or admire the wall art of stuffed animals that fell prey to a prior guest.
The hosts are charming and accommodating. They quickly respond to emails and phone calls. They will even arrange for reservations at their favorite restaurant where everyone knows their names and the food is excellent. The owners ensure you have everything you will need during your stay. To help your children remember their stay, they allow them to pick a departing gift from the toy chest.

I have stayed in LOTS of these sort of vacation rentals. This one is one of the best. Tons of room. Really cute. Clean. Cleverly decorated. That outside yard with the trees and plants really makes you feel like you're in your own little hideaway. Every amenity listed is right on target. Really great rental. Great experience. Will visit again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 14/18

Needed a quiet getaway ...Not a beach person, I usually seek a cabin in hills/mountains far from civilization, but heard Paula's place was available when I needed it. I am a convert! Everything about the house was a delight! I've heard of the gift of hospitality - but this house welcomes a person like the perfect hostess - fresh, colorful, perfect combo of cool and warm, inviting but knows how to disappear into the background. Comfortable. Well supplied.Pretty inside and out. And the beach in April was exactly the right amount of people and space and beauty and space and did I mention the feeling of SPACIOUSNESS! Never realized that sand had as many kinds of textures under bare feet - from smooth to damply cool to warm to crunchy. It was lovely under gray skies or blue, sunshine or cloudy moon. I will be back and bring friends/family. OH yeah, I read other lodgers' recommendations for food and the Station Street Grill exceeded high expectations: my favorite - fried shrimp to DIE for!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

1st- the homeowner was easy to contact, helpful and pleasant. 2nd- the setting was beautiful- lush grounds and even though close proximity to town- felt private and secluded- also nice neighborhood. 3rd- accomodations were clean, well laid out, as advertised, plenty cool AC, well stocked kitchen(not always the case at other properties), and user friendly, family friendly... great for couples or families Cant think of anything we didn't like... we loved the property, the shopping, Bron's cart rentals was awesome, we always have to eat at Castaways...Did you find this review helpful? Great little house, and the fact that it was pet friendly just pushed it over the top! Blocks to the beach and walking distance to ice-cream (big plus :-) ). We'll definitely be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This place was absolutely wonderful for our recent vacation to Port Aransas. The house was very clean and had nice, up-to-date furnishings. Unlike some vacation homes, you can tell the owners use this and take good care of it. The kitchen is well stocked and all of the appliances and electronics in the home are very nice. There are plenty of linens for the beds and baths and even some toiletries in case you forgot your own. They really have thought of everything! One thing that we enjoyed more than we could have imagined was the beautiful and spacious yard. All of the trees and bushes were in full bloom while we were there and the grass was nice and plush. Our 2 and a half year old absolutely LOVED running around in the yard, especially when we put out a sprinkler for her to run through. All around, this place is very well maintained and we would definitely stay here again over a condo any day. There are neighbors close by, but it feels private because of the landscaping and layout. It's close to the main streets and you could easily walk to the beach if you wanted (unless you're carrying a lot of stuff or have young children). We really enjoyed the Italian food from a restaurant a few blocks away called Seafood and Spaghetti Works. We'd go back there again too!Owner response: Thank You!

We were in Port A for a winter time get away, and found this to be a restful retreat space on a cold and rainy weekend. We liked being so close to the grocery store, espresso shop, seafood market and art galleries, since the beach this weekend was cold and windy, good for brief visits but not comfortable for all day. This beach town cottage is filled with eye candy, with a tropical garden, a cheerful color palette, and whimsical art work through out the house. We enjoyed cooking fresh seafood in the well appointed kitchen and having coffee in the garden when the sun came out, listening to the gurgling mermaid mermaid fountain. The house seems to be arranged and cared for with love, with special attention to details that make a family more comfortable. We left feeling well rested, refreshed and cared for.Owner response: Our aim is to provide a relaxed setting for our guests to make the very most of their getaway. We are so very glad you enjoyed your stay.

The house was spacious, with plenty of walking room. No anorexic hallways or rickety staircases. Very refreshing. The location was perfect. The beach was not far and town was less then a hop, skip and a jump. Though it is close to shops, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Every appliance and non-food necessity was easy to find and clear directions were located all over to make my stay convenient stress free.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners.

This place is PERFECT! 5 girlfriends and I went down for a little weekend R&R and got just that. You walk in to this bright cheery home and instantly feel like you are on vacation. The house has a great floor plan and is up to date with appliances, and modern amenities. Bedrooms are in the back and living spaces are in the front of the house which is nice if one group wants to chit chat and others want to relax. The kitchen is set up nicely and is very well equipped....definitely conducive for multiple "chefs". The patio is where we spent most of our time at the picnic table or on the swing reading magazines and setting out our next plan. In addition the location is perfect. It is within walking distance from a grocery store, electric car rental (which we did so we wouldn't get our car dirty at the beach) and souvenirs. The beach, retail stores, and restaurants are located less than a mile so also within walking distance. I highly recommend Beach and Station Street Grill for a good lunch and Venetian Hot Plate for a dinner. Both were EXCELLENT!!! This is a great property and my friends and I were planning our next trip back as we were packing up the car on Sunday!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We loved our weekend in this magical little cottage. I say magical because there were dozens of hummingbirds in the backyard! The yard has a privacy fence and is beautifully landscaped with a patio and running fountain. Inside there's lots of natural light from skylights. The place is a short walk to anywhere you want to go and has a garage for your car. The owner is friendly and responsive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to friends and family. Wonderful! The listing was accurate,Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This is just a perfectly situated rental in Port Aransas. It's close to the beach as well as restaurants and shops. The house itself is just perfect...3 bedrooms and 2 baths, large kitchen, screened-in porch, and large backyard with hammock and barbeque. It's tastefully decorated, and the owner has the house stocked with things you might need for your trip (boogie boards, hats, as well as first aid kit materials). My family thoroughly enjoyed the stay...very relaxing! For the high tech folks, this place is for you. It has a flat screen TV, DVD, IPOD speakers, and wifi modem. Very highly recommended!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We have been Big fans of the island ever since we brought our first baby here 20 years ago (oh my, how time flies!). We have remodeled and updated everything since purchasing our house is 2007. We enjoy sharing our 'Island Getaway' with our renters and especially enjoy the families that return to make our home their family's vacation spot. We welcome You and Yours to enjoy the best of the Texas Riviera from our Island Getaway!
Why the Owner Chose Other Port Aransas Properties:
After spending a span of time in Port Aransas during an internship, we decided that this was the town to begin looking for our 'getaway' place. As luck would have it, the right place and the right timing coincided and we found the ideal spot for a relaxing quick-getaway or a longer stay. Our place was first and foremost built for a family to live in, not just stay for a few days, and you can feel that from the moment you enter the gate (just like we did). This house gives off a warm inviting feel that just seems to melt the cares away. We have definitely found the most relaxing spot in one of the friendliest towns on the Texas Riviera!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy the sunrises from the jetty, biking all over the town, walking to dinner at some of the finest restaurants, and spending alot of time outdoors enjoying the coastal breezes. We also watch the birds throughout the various migratory patterns, and 'turtle watch' from the rocks along the jetty. We regularly visit the library, and attend many of the community functions (art fairs, community theater, beach walks, sand castle demos...) And we've yet to check off all of the things on the 'fun-to-do' list!
