  My husband and I had the most incredible time at this home. It was the perfect place to retreat to for 10 days; quiet, and extremely relaxing. The pool and jacuzzi were wonderful, we used it everyday. The entire house opens up, and there is a very indoor/outdoor feel. We had a few qecko friends come in and visit us, but they were harmless, and very interesting to look at. This is a great house for one or two couples, and great for anyone who wants to be out of the hustle and bustle of Kam Highway. The beach is close and at most a 5min drive down the mountain. We had a wonderful time.

  We stayed here for a week in March 2012 and had an amazing, incredibly restful time. The home is perfect for two couples with plenty of separate living spaces, both indoors and out. We cooked and barbequed at home most nights and the kitchen is well stocked with everything needed. While the beaches and nearby hiking are worthy pursuits, the outdoor lanai and pool convinced us to hang at the home on more than one day. The view is wonderful, the neighborhood peaceful, and the local songbirds a joy to watch while they perch at the rim of the infinity pool. We will likely return again. Our only wish is that we could bring more than two friends at a time to this peaceful, tropical setting!

  Movin' on up! Located in the Sunny Hills area of the Pupukea this home is ideal for two couples as you can share a home yet have your privacy. Well maintained, clean and open with ocean views throughout! We are world travelers, North Shore junkies as well as frequent VRBO renters around the world. We love this website and loved this house! This was our 7th home rental in the past 10 years on the North Shore yet our 1st not directly on the beach. I will admit we were a bit apprehensive as we love the ocean, sand and waves in winter. But this year it just seemed right to be away from the crowds and commotion that goes along with the big wave season and contests which we do so very much enjoy. Privacy it was and that is what we loved about the Pupukea. Relaxing! Jacuzzi was bliss! Kitchen large and fully functional including the outdoor BBQ.... Get your shrimp up at Kahuku and grill away! And yes there is a blender for your Pina Colada's! Everything else is as advertised. We had great communication over the months before our trip, the manager of the property Meme was a delight as well as helpful and all knowing of the area as she is a true local!   We recently stayed here and had the best, most relaxing vacation ever! The home was so nicely decorated and inviting, I would definately recommend it to just about about anyone. The home was close enough to the beaches and heart of the North Shore, yet seemed like we were in a secluded paradise. The pool area was better than any home I've been to and is great for kids, and yes it doubles as a bird bath, but we didn't find it too be a problem at all! In fact, it was actually quite nice! The huge yard also was perfect for an afternoon pick-up game of just about any sport. We can't wait to go back!!!

  While this is indeed a beautiful home it is not as serene and private as advertised. There are tenants who live directly under the master suite. During our stay we had to endure daily and nightly sounds emanating from them including music, video games, weight training (from the tenant only outdoor gym) talking etc. There were many sightings of these tenants and their friends. The washer and dryer are shared with them as well and they have restricted times. Also the advertised pool that doubles as a " 'Bird bath' for native species found nowhere else" does indeed bring very beautiful birds and ducks to the property, but they all crap in the pool and when we arrived the pool was filthy and the pool cleaner didn't come until a couple of days after we arrived. The location was great and we really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and the place was generally clean. So if you don't mind sharing then this can be the place for you.

  Owner response: We're sorry your experience wasn't what you expected. The "tenants" referred to are actually caretakers who oversee the gardening and pool maintenance service. They also provide a security presence on the property. The wild ducks (not a native species) are "new arrivals" we are addressing. They are responsible for the mess you encountered. The native species are quite little and delightful. They are not a problem. Again our apologies for your inconvenience and any misunderstanding that occured about the property...

  The house is beautiful and the views are amazing.We celebrated 10 days of our honeymoon here and would recommend this house to EVERYONE. We are currently already trying to plan a return trip here! The house has everything you need for an awesome vacation and the beach is 5 minute drive down the hill.

  The home was exceptional and there was great attention to every detail. We didn't realize how large the home was until we arrived. The neighborhood was very unique and we had no idea this part of the island even existed. We have been to the North Shore every summer for the past few years and this was our favorite trip by far. The property managers Mark and Beverly were very cordial and they greeted us upon arrival...we thought that was very nice. They returned our deposit promptly and had nice things to say about us. Overall the experience was wonderful and we felt like the home helped us capture the essence of Hawaii. Thanks again for everything.

  We highly recommend this property, especially for 2 couples. Private and quiet, yet close to beaches and grocery. Everything was as advertised. Well built, nicely kept, gorgeous view. Beautiful pool and lanai was a great place to relax and eat our meals. Bali design with sliding doors allow the ocean breezes to keep it cool. This was our first time on Oahu's North Shore and we enjoyed the walking trail along the beaches, the farmer's market nearby, the snorkeling in Shark's Cove, sea turtles, and the beautiful scenery at the beaches.

  I've stayed there several times. It's the greatest tonic for stress. I go to melt away my stress and recharge my batteries. It puts me close to the world class surf beaches, but yet far enough away for quiet evenings and sunsets. I saw my first "green flash" there (It's real, not an "urban legend").
