The beach at El Piemental is isolated from the normal pace of the surfing beaches. However, it is only 30 minutes from some of the best surfing beaches in the world. I have found the proximity to the airport a great advantage when coming from the USA. Literally 4 left turns and you are at the beach. Pick up a rental car or have a taxi drop you off.
Once you enter the private compound you find some of the most relaxing environments in the world. Guest are separated into two sleeping quarters on the nearly 1/2 acre site. The kitchen facilities, dining area and cabana make it easy to get away from the crowd if that is your desire. Walking on the beach tends to be very private as their are very few people on the beach most of the time. This is one reason I picked this beach for my second home. It is away from the crowd but only 30 minutes to shopping, restaurants or supermarket. The roads are excellent to all destinations.
Up the beach is a first class restaurant, hotel with horseback riding, 4 wheeler and beach buggies to rent. They will also cater food if you do not want to cook for yourself.
Most of the proceeds from our rent go to support the works of epilogos. This is a non profit group working with a number of villages in El Salvador to improve the living conditions of their residents. If you would like to volunteer with one of our groups please contact us for program schedules.

About the owner: I have been a builder in New Hampshire for over 30 years. I went to El Salvador to look at building a volunteer house for a not profit group. I fell in love with the place and ended up buying because of the prices.
Why the Owner Chose San Luis Talpa:
This property was owned by a long time Peace Corp executive and was a friend of a friend. After lookng at the place it was love at first site. Going into the compound is like walking into a new world. Quiet, peaceful and just steps to a beach where you see few if any people.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the biggest benefits is the fact I can leave my house in New Hampshire, get on a plane in Boston and be on the beach in less than 9 hours. A Boston flight at 8 arrives in San Salvador at 2. The house has a number of buidlings which allow people to get away from each other but great common space if you have a large group. The live in caretaker keeps the grounds spotless and it is easy to get a maid/cook if you want to be pampered. The hammocks are hanging before you get out of bed.
