Our group of 4 stayed at this condo in September and it is perfect for a short getaway to Rome. The condo is exactly as described and full of the amenities most travelers desire. It is a short walk from the main train station that links travelers to the local metro and countrywide Trenitalia. This was super convenient, since we used trains almost every day. The condo itself was perfect for our needs and the washer and dryer were a welcome benefit. Beds were comfortable and kitchen and baths were nicely appointed too. The only drawback was the location in Rome, the condo is over a mile away from some of the main sights like the Colosseum & Pantheon and well over 2 miles away from the Vatican. If you are looking to solely walk around Rome, you might want a more centrally located property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Four of us stayed here and it was very nice. The neighborhood is very ethnically diverse but also very safe. After the first day we felt right at home. We loved the market down the street and cooked more than we thought we would since there is such a great variety of fresh food available. Mary and Martina were there to meet us and show us the ropes. We used the metro to go everywhere. It gets a little crowded but is so quick and easy. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Mary arranged a car for the airport that was really a blessing. Her guide recommendation was spot on.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This was our first time in Rome. Mary's apartment was perfect for us. We were a family of four traveling and the apartment was very spacious. It has all the comforts of home. We met Matina at the apartment and gave us the key. She welcomed us with some groceries.....milk, coffee, bread, eggs, butter and jams. Thank you Mary for being so helpful and giving me so much information. We enjoyed our tours to the Vineyard, Castel Gandolfo and the Vatican. Buses, taxis cabs and the train station are close by the apartment. We hope to visit again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Our stay at this apartment was wonderful! The location is great. We literally walked to everything. The apartment itself is very nice. It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fantastic, although we only used it for breakfast, you could easily cook a gourmet meal with all the appliances. The washer/dryer was very helpful too! Mary (the owner) was so helpful with everything from the minute we booked the apartment to right before we arrived. She arranged a car for us to get to the airport on our last day, put us in touch with a wonderful tour guide who gave us a private tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's. I can't say enough about this apartment. When we go back to Rome we will definitely stay here again! Joanne and Steve Carlsbad, CADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Four of us (includes 2 kids) stayed for a week and found apartment very convenient and in good condition overall and everything as expected. Apartment owner and her assistant were very helpful getting us in and showing around on the first day. We used the guides provided and these were very helpful. Location near both Termini train & Metro station and another Metro station is great if you plan to use Metro system and use rails to get in and out of Rome. We used taxis in addition to Metro; buses not so much. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, we mostly grabbed quick breakfast but had lunches dinner in other areas of Rome where we happened to be. Apartment is very charming and large yet feels very cozy and authentic. If you are like me and dislike hotels look & feel, definitely this building and apartment is for you. We mostly ate out but we used the well-equipped cook's kitchen, washer and dryer once or twice and this kitchen is a great option to have, especially when traveling with kids. Other amenities are in good and usable condition, no issues. There is plenty of storage and close space to spread your belongings. Building itself is as old as advertised which I liked, it is large, clean, good condition and surprisingly quiet at night. As other reviewers pointed out the elevator is small but this but this is typical for Europe and building this age and adds to the charm of it. Windows are mostly into internal courtyard, relatively large by US standards. I do not care much for views out the window so for me this worked well. Neighborhood is as described, it is near Termini; it is ethnically diverse residential as described. Most buildings are larger apartment buildings, quite a number of hotels as would be expected near major train hub. However, there are no people crowds or heavy traffic in the streets near the apartment as it is away from the busiest entrances to Termini. We had no fears or issues with safety or street crime, It appears safe and most likely is safe. This is a great apartment and great location to be in Rome when traveling as a family of 3-4; unless you want to stay right in the most tourist-filled location (think staying right in Times Square in New York or Piccadilly Circus in London). At the same time it is in the center of Rome and close to everything, including on foot.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our family of 5 including 3 boys ages 4, 2, & 1 stayed for 5 nights. We found the flat to be child-friendly and big enough for all of us. We brought our own pack & play, as well as a booster seat for meals. The elevator was tricky with a stroller because there are a few stairs leading to it, and the elevator is very small so it required us to fold up the stroller to get everyone in. We were able to manage though. The location was great. There is a coffee shop right on the same block that we went to everyday. My oldest cried when we came home because he missed their cookies so much! There is a grocery store and playground all within walking distance. We scheduled a driver with the owner to take us to and from the airport, which worked very well. The van was big enough for all of us and our luggage. Taxis were easy to get throughout the city, but if we were to go again we would hire a van to take us around to the sites to make it a bit easier with the family. It was a very nice visit to Rome, and I would definitely recommend this apartment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My family and I stayed in this apartment for almost a month and I can say that it is a truly wonderful apartment. We travel quite a lot because of work commitments and one of the most important things for us is to have a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. This apartment has really comfortable beds and I think that the kitchen is even better equipped than the one we have at home. The kitchen has all the utensils and gadgets you might wish for. The apartment has plenty of storage space and the lounge is very comfortable with TV and DVD player. It is also superbly located since it is only a very short walk to the Coliseum and to Termini. There is a fantastic market just down the road from the apartment and Mary who is a wonderful host has a great list of restaurants, gelaterias and cafeterias which she suggests for her guests. This is list is a gem since I am sure that we would not have tried these places if we had not had these on the list. The Gelateria which she suggests is a must. A great apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

How excited I was in planning my trip to Rome!! This apartment looked perfect for our needs. The owner, Mary, was a great communicator. She sent me all sorts of useful information about the apartment, sight seeing, dining, shopping, etc. She really helped me feel secure about making this trip. Several weeks after I made the deposit, I learned that one of my traveling companions could not make the trip as planned due to physical problems. Sadly I contacted Mary to let her know. I was shocked when she told me that she would return my deposit. What a kind gesture!! I will definitely try to stay there in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Location, location, location. Even with our large 50 pound bags and carry ons, it was an easy walk from the Termini station into an ethnic but safe and friendly neighborhood to the building. Mary was always available to answer questions and sent great information about the area and restaurants. She even had her assistant Martina make reservations for us at an excellent and hard to get in restaurant. She was also in contact by email once we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. She is in a word a very caring and wonderful owner. The condo itself is exactly as it looks in all the pictures. A wonderful place to come back and relax in after a day of walking all around Rome. And yes you can walk to almost all the major sites or jump on the subway around the corner. A nice treat was the things one needs for a morning breakfast (eggs, bread, milk, juice and coffee) were all there waiting for us on our arrival. It was fun to turn on the TV and see all the Italian stations but there were plenty of English stations as well. A treat was the CD player to listen to as we relaxed and had our wine and cheese before heading out to the many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The beds were comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. The four of us would not hesitate to return and stay here once again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My family of 4 stayed in the apartment for a week. We loved the space and amenities. What makes this rental special is the wonderful assistance Mary, the owner, gave us before and after our arrival. She left details about the best shopping, dining, tourist signt seeing, ect. Mary assisted me with planning my 20th anniversary so that we could build memories for a lifetime. This apartment is close to dining, train stration, metro, supermarket, and the bus terminal. You will love the comfort of knowing you have someone to contact while you are in Rome if you have any questions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and two of our children stayed in this apartment in Rome for four nights during July 2011. The owner Mary was very helpful right from our original enquiry, during and after our stay. Martina met us on arrival and was kind enough to supply the staples for our first day - the apartment had brand new appliances and lots of material guiding guests to places to visit and eat in Rome. Initially unsure of the safety of the district we soon realised that it was all ok and there was a great restaurant called Aquila Nera further up the street that we went to twice with great staff and very affordable prices and delicious food. The proximity of the station was a bonus and the shopping centre therein was huge. We enjoyed a marvellous "Roman Holiday".Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

The three of us enjoyed our four nights in your spacious apartment. It is very conveniently located to a great market, metro stops, and for walking to some some of Rome's wonderful sites. We appreciated the modern kitchen with great appliances, including dishwasher, washing machine AND dryer. The internet access was helpful, as we were able to check on things at home and set up some of our tours.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I and a friend stayed in the apartment for 3 great days and all of our expectations were met - and more. Mary is a responsive owner, answering every email promptly, and as promised Martina was at the apartment when we arrived to show us the apartment. The description and photos are so accurate that I felt like I had already been there. Very clean, quiet, private and comfortable. The building itself is in a super location close to Termini, a short 5 minute walk coming off the airport express train. For real local flavour we referred to the recommendations for restaurants and markets which are all a short walking distance. Touring the rest of Rome easily done on foot and from the nearby Vittorio Emmanuele metro stop. Great kitchen - wish that we had been able to stay longer to take more advantage. What a bonus having the computer and printer to check-in online and print boarding passes for our return flights! Highly recommend for two couples. If you want to experience living in Rome like a local, this is a great apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My friends and I spent 4 days in Rome at Mary's apartment. It was a great space and Matilda was very welcoming. We appreciated having wireless internet (we had our laptops) as well as a washer and dryer handy. I wish we could have stayed longer to partake of the great kitchen and had some more meals in the space. We will have to save that for our next trip. I'd surely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The appartment was very nice --It is tastefully decorated, is very comfortable, and has all of the comforts of home--even down to very little details. Everything is nice quality (bedding, furniture, kitchen/appliances) --The owner goes out of her way to provide everything you need to navigate your stay, including finding grocery stores and restaurants, touring Rome's well known tourist spots and local secrets, etc. --The location is good, the Underground station (take Vittorio stop; not Termini) was few short blocks away. --The owner's communication skills are also excellent. She is so responsive to emails and phone calls. She was personable and made us feel trusting in the "deal"....that it was legitimate. --Would definitely stay here again,Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Four of us stayed here for 5 days and really enjoyed cooking each day. The kitchen has every utensil imaginable. And the market 2 blocks (on same street) away has literally everything you can think of...fresh fish, prosciutto, pastas you've never seen, wines, vegetables. Even if you don't cook, highly recommend taking a morning stroll through the market. There is also Pastry shop mentioned in the guide that is sent to you. OMG. We went there everyday! It was really nice being able to take the train and buses from the Termini (2-3 blocks) everywhere. We took trips to Pompeii and Florence with ease. And if you like to walk, it's not a bad stroll at all to the Forum and Coliseum. We even walked back from the Vatican (but we stopped for wine twice). Note, no need for converters or hairdryers, there are some at the apartment. There is also a mall below the train station. If the large, fresh market is closed, the grocery store on lower level of train station has good supplies. Enjoy! Ciao Bella from Chapel Hill, NCRecommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We are 2 couples touring Italy for 3 weeks, beginning in Rome. I searched all rental sights many times over to find a central location and 2 "real" bedrooms. Am so glad I continued looking because when I came across this condo it had everything we needed. This was our 1st trip to Rome and interested in seeing sights. The location of this apartment is perfect, 2 blocks from train station and 1 block to subway entrance. The only way to navigate in Rome is public transportation and is easy, buy a 3 day pass and you can ride on everything, armed with Streetwise maps & Rick Steves we were ready to conquer Rome. From condo to Vatican by subway (very clean) took under 10 minutes. The apartment was fully stocked, kitchen, linens were dreamy, furniture, beds, appliances ( including washer and dryer unheard of in any other rental I was looking at) were all top quality. The building is secure and has an elevator. It was the perfect start to our Italian dream vacation. Restaurants, bakery, market all within walking distance. The owner of this condo is American, and she is very helpful, supplies several pages of information on restaurants recommendations, complete book at the condo on how to run everything in the unit. Very through and kept in contact during our visit on her in house wifi computer to make sure things were going well. She also has a manager that meets you at the condo and is always available. I highly recommend this wonderful condo for your Roman experience. We certainly enjoyed our stay. Thanks, DebRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My parents, husband, brother and I all stayed in this apartment for four nights in July. It was very comfortable and spacious, even with the five of us. There is an elevator in the building, which is great for those who tend to overpack. The staple food items that Martina left for us were fantastic - we all thought the butter was the best we've ever tasted! The proximity to the train station was perfect, and makes getting to the apartment super easy. And there is an air conditioner in every room which was amazing since July in Italy is HOT! Thanks for everything, Mary!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at Mary's Rome apartment for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The rental was spotless and perfectly fitted with all the necessities we could have asked for. It felt like we were home! The apartment is very spacious and has a lovely, typically Italian view into the the inside piazza of the apartment building. Truly cozy! The bedrooms are quiet and comfortable and the kitchen and living area is very spacious and perfect for a nice evening of rest. We were a party of two couples and had enough privacy when necessary, although we spent most of our time sightseeing. The rental is conveniently located about a block from the main train station (Termini) and within two blocks of the metro station. Getting around Rome was very easy and the people in that area were pleasant and helpful. We had no problems walking around at night. Martina was very accomodating and responded to any questions promptly. We were glad to find that the rental is bigger than the pictures and looks even better in person. Thanks for all your help, Mary! We hope to visit Rome and Italy again soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This spacious apartment was so perfect for two couples. We felt at home and absolutely loved the space and the kitchen. It was a true gourmet kitchen with all of the bells and whistles. We shopped locally and were able to enjoy true Rome living by preparing some of our own meals. There was a vegetable market close by and the supermarket was in the train station building. Metro was close and we were able to move to the areas we wanted to be in a short time. We felt safe traveling around in the neighborhood and sometimes we would ask for directions to locations in the surrounding area. All of the locals helped us with a friendly manner.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We just returned from a week in Rome staying in this apartment. I have two teenagers and my wife. We all would very highly recommend this apt. It is exactly as described and the photos are accurate. Dealing with Mary and her staff in Rome was wonderful. Mary arranged a car to pick us up at the airport, which was welcomed after a long flight. Martina met us at the apartment to give us a walk through and she was very helpful, making sure we knew we could call her at any time with any problems. The apartment was very clean and very spacious and we felt right at home. Beds were comfortable and the apartment was very quiet which made sleeping easy. The kids loved having access to the computer to keep up with their friends. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped and having a washer and dryer was a definite bonus. Martina made sure we had bread, eggs, milk and butter on our arrival. You couldn't ask for a better location! The apartment is two blocks from the main train station in Rome, which had a supermarket and mall inside it. We took a day trip to Florence and the train back to the airport with great ease. It is also a block from the Metro which made getting around Rome quite easy. The apartment is only a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum which we made on numerous occaisions, especially at night to see it lit up. I would highly recommend doing this. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood at all times of day and night. It was great to be able to go to the corner coffee bar to buy Metro tickets, espresso and panini. Mary has a book with recommendations of neighborhood restaurants, gelateria and bakeries which was very useful. In sum, this apartment was wonderful and met every expectation we could have. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to any friends/family traveling to Rome. Thanks Mary for making our stay so enjoyable.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

What a wonderful apartment! It was large and spacious, well equipped with everything we could want and so very comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were centrally located, a short distance from everything in Rome, and we were close to the railway Terminal for travel to other parts of Italy. The subway and bus were a block away. We shopped in the nearby Farmer’s Market (which was HUGE) and prepared dinner in the gourmet kitchen. The television, washer and dryer were brand new. We were able to keep up with business correspondence on the computer. We will definitely reserve this apartment the next time we plan to travel to Rome! I've had the pleasure of staying in this apartment on 3 occasions, for an average of 1 week per, and the next time I find myself in Rome, I'm hoping very much to do the same. The apartment is luxurious but comfortable; I was not afraid to put my feet up and truly relax. All apliances and building features (elevator, etc.) worked just great. The location is ideal for those interested in sightseeing and also for those who wish to have more than the typical tourist experience. You feel like you're really staying amongst people who live and work here. Because you are. An added bonus? It was easy to get to from the airport - a big plus after a long flight!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent 5 days at this property and will do it again when I go. The apartment is perfect. It is furnished very well. The kitchen has every amenity you could ask for, including washer and dryer. The bathroom was really lovely as well. It was like being in America with all of the conveniences. The location is right smack dab in the middle of things. Transportation, be it public or if you are walking or driving - does not get any better. You are right in the middle of the city!!!! The supermarket was just aroiund the corner and it was even open on Sunday!!!!! The bedrooms were complete and the beds were so comfortable it was sometimes hard to get out of it to go see the city. My girlfriend and I went shopping, site seeing and boy did we eat - we shopped and ate all over the city it seemed, but we were so close to everything it was very easy to do. It was perfect to end the day by returning to the apartment and watching television or listening to music - all of which is available at this property. it was like coming home!!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have stayed in this wonderful apartment many of times and it is the best that I have ever stayed in Rome. The location is just great, you can get to see the best of Rome because it is close to everything. The subway and bus is just walking distant and It's close to the terminal so you can travel to other locations in Europe. The property was very clean and the owner provided good customer service and yes I would recommend this property to everyone going to Rome. But the best is the beauty of the apartment that is what made my stay there Heaven!!!. I really did enjoyed my stay there and will stay there again when I go back to Rome.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.
