  We had a wonderful two night stay in the Jasmine! The accommodations were perfect. We really enjoyed the views from the porch and watching the horses each morning as we had breakfast. Our time at Hamoa Beach was a highlight, as well as seeing Gaylord's work at the gallery. Thanks again,

  The visual beauty here is only surpassed by the quiet serenity that you feel. We have loved our time in this beautiful oasis. My three dear friends and I enjoyed 3 heavenly days and 2 nights here (not nearly long enough). After a deliberate search this seemed to me a perfect spot to enjoy our time in Hana. We found this home and this place to be so healing and thank you for blessing our stay with such hospitality. We vow to somehow return.

  Jasmine Ekena is even more beautiful than the pictures can show. Why? Because the view is more encompassing, because the living area is more spacious, because the birds in the morning can't be heard through a picture, because the peace can't be as deeply felt. It is truly a wonderful place and highly recommended. We're hikers and enjoyed the opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in the Hana area. And we loved then returning to the quiet of this house.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  Thank you for letting us enjoy our honeymoon in the beautiful Jasmine suite. The home was impeccable, clean, organized, well loved... and the views, we will never forget! We only wish our time was longer, but we will definitely be back. Until next time....

  I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The hosts were available and very helpful in regards to personal issues and travel plans. Privacy is not an issue despite sharing the home with the owners as the house is very spacious and the hosts are not in the least intrusive. I am a fanatic about cleanliness and this lodging easily met my high standards. The view is spectacular as is the yard surrounding the property. I would return to stay in this location without any reservation.

  Ekena is a beautiful place that lies high above the surrounding area - offering wonderful views and an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The property is impeccably kept and offers every luxury that anyone could possibly want. While it rests in it's own private seclusion, it is only a mile or so from Hana and close to everything that Hana and the surrounding area has to offer. Robin and Gaylord are wonderful owners, available to assist you with directions, suggestions, etc. if needed but otherwise leaving you to enjoy your privacy. We can't recommend this place highly enough! We would definitely stay here again.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  This is a lovely home. Very private, open space, and great views. It's location allowed us to split up the drive to Hana into two really fun days without getting totally exhausted. Great little food stands nearby for sweets or coffee. Friendly hosts who were very helpful if we needed anything.

  We were referred to Ekena by my sister and her husband who were guests there this past January. (They said they enjoyed the home so much that they almost didn't want to leave to go explore the beauties of Hana). Upon our arrival we were greeted with a warm "Aloha" by Robin (one of the managers) who took us inside Ekena and familiarized us with the house. It was immaculately clean and everything was in perfect condition. In the past we have stayed in rental properties where the pots and pans were old, scratched up and had no matching lids...but not here! They were all new and had lids to match and were stacked nicely in the cabinets. The dishes and silverware were new and the appliances all worked perfectly (and there were even a set of wine glasses)! The beds were very comfortable and the showers & tub were luxurious after a long day out hiking, swimming and exploring "Heavenly Hana". The panoramic view of the ocean from this home on the hill was breathtaking! We enjoyed our mornings eating fresh Papayas, Pineapple, Bananas, Guava & Passion Fruit out on the covered balcony. The tropical breeze was so refreshing as we enjoyed the view in the morning and also at sunset. This is a home that is peaceful and tranquil. We highly recommend Ekena to anyone who is searching for a vacation home to relax, rejuvenate and refresh your spirit! Hana is a place to experience what traditional Hawaii is all about. No commercialism, no high-rise hotels, not much concrete at all! Our two young adult children enjoyed spending their afternoons at Hamoa Beach (one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Hawaii) and we all took a picnic lunch to many of the other sights to see in the Hana area (Wianapanapa State Park which includes water caves, Black Sand Beach and the Blow Hole; Ka'eleku Caverns (Lava Tube); Haleakala National Park; Pools of O'heo (O'heo Gulch); Waimoku Falls; Kipahula; Hana Coast Art Gallery; & Hana Bay). Also one of the extra ammenities of Ekena were the use of large luxurious beach towels & mats and several boogie boards and beach chairs. The infamous "Road to Hana" was challenging but absolutely worth the trip! Waterfalls and Rainforests surround you along with breathtaking views of the Maui Coastline! What are you waiting for???

  This is one of the most amazing rental properties that I have rented. From our booking with Robin, to our greeting by Gaylord, the mgrs and his dog Raz, the whole process was very enjoyable and professional. The home itself is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The views from inside the home and from the deck is like heaven. We spent the last few days of our honeymoon at this home and couldn't have dreamt of a better place to do it. We will def be back soon. Thanks Gaylord and Robin. Your home is a truly unique place that can't be compared to a hotel stay. The home is fully stocked w everything u could ask for and very clean.
