This is one of the most amazing rental properties that I have rented. From our booking with Robin, to our greeting by Gaylord, the mgrs and his dog Raz, the whole process was very enjoyable and professional. The home itself is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The views from inside the home and from the deck is like heaven. We spent the last few days of our honeymoon at this home and couldn't have dreamt of a better place to do it. We will def be back soon. Thanks Gaylord and Robin. Your home is a truly unique place that can't be compared to a hotel stay. The home is fully stocked w everything u could ask for and very clean.

You never quite know what to expect when you are renting part of someone's home. We were totally thrilled with these accommodations. You feel as if you are in your own home with expansive views from the floor to ceiling glass walls that line the great room. This property is lovingly cared for. The two bedrooms are separated by the great room so two couples could easily share this vacation spot and enjoy privacy. The owners go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Beach mats, a surf board and beach chairs were provided. Ekena sits high on a hill and you wake up to bird songs and a fabulous view of Hana. The house is filled with many books and magazines about the area. I fully intend to return it was such a relaxing vacation. We chose to hike each day. We purchased excellent prepared food from vendors in town one dinner was vegetarian and one was Thai from Prawnee near the elementary school in Hana both meals were excellent. We also brought our own food from Maui and self catered breakfast and lunch. There were lots of extras in the refrigerator that other visitors had left such as salt, sugar, soy sauce etc. If you enjoy nature you will love the time you spend in this home. It is Hawaii at its best.

If you are like me and dislike crowds and resorts, then this is the place for your romantic getaway. We stayed at the Jasmine home which is very spacious with a view that makes you want to live there. This is a quiet and lush property. The photos for this location do no justice for what is actually as close as you can get to heaven on earth. The home was very clean and well maintained. Kitchen fully stocked with all you need minus the food yet some condiments were in the fridge. Laundry room with soap for your convenience. A shower with a good flow so that your not standing there rinsing your hair and body off forever. Books that are informative about your surrounding area. This is a great place to stay if you are watching your budget. Eat at home everyday and sightsee so many places that are free or others for a very small fee. We did go out to dinner once at the local hotel's resaraunt and had the very best food weve ever tasted. Even the local food and fruits were so tasty compared to some of the best food we get to eat in Californias Central Valley. We treated ourselves to the mouthwatering pineapple, coconut and bananas that are not native to our area. So delicious! Please remeber that Hana is a jungle and to use OFF repelent when taking walks which I did almost everyday. We would love to come back again and stay again for our one year anniversary. I would recommend this property to people who appreciate a beautiful home yet love the outdoors. Please see the Lava Tube, Koki Beach, Seven Sacred Pools, Waimoku Falls and local fruit stands. The local people here are very sweet and friendly. Open your hand, close your three middle fingers and wave this to others you pass by. This place changed me for the better. Mahalo

We have been to Ekena over 10 times and we keep coming back because it is truly "Paradise on Earth." Hidden away in heavenly Hana it is modern, spacious and comfortable. We love to cook and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need including a dishwasher. It is like a first-class hotel with all the comforts of home. A peaceful haven with a view to die for. A spectacular wrap-around lanai with amazing views of the ocean and the fields. You can watch the whales pass by as you sip your morning coffee or evening cocktails. Give yourself a treat and spend a few days or a few weeks at Ekena. You will never want to leave.

Heavenly Hana indeed! We arrived at Ekena jet-lagged and tired after flying for 12 hours. We awoke to a spectacular tropical shower, a wonderful golden sunrise and as if that wasn't enough, a full rainbow crossed the western mountains from end to end. Not bad for a first morning! Thank you Robin for being such a delightful host- your kindness warmed our hearts. Gaylord, it was a pleasure to meet you- you are a truly gifted artist. We will always remember the peacefulness and beauty of Ekena and Hana... the views, the sounds, the smells, Waimoku Falls on horseback, Hamoa Beach where we renewed our vows, the daily visits by Razz and just sitting on the deck, enjoying the moment. We hate to leave- we long to return. Mahalo.

Until you've seen it, there's no understanding how beautiful and serene this place is. The tourist sites- the parks and beaches- are wonderful, but the true magic is found right here atop this lovely hill overlooking paradise. I'll always remember the 20 minutes Razz (the dog) and I spent staring at the stars. I hope we return soon! John and Joy

Everything right; nothing wrong! Not much of life is just like that, and when it is we can't savor enough. This is surely such a place and we are thankful to have found it. Our best times on earth will include Ekena. Thank you for sharing your house and Hana with us. P.S.- We veterinarians love a good dog, and Raz is that. Mahalo. Ed and Sue
