This is one of the rare corner units at Maalaea Yacht Marina, on the second floor. Big windows wrap the corner, so even from the kitchen, the view is stunning. You can easily host dinner for six at the big lanai table. All new kitchen with beautiful cabinets and appliances, new tiled walk-in shower, new carpet, new furnishings! Many upgrades, including better beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, air conditioning, hand-held shower massage, plenty of towels, as this is our second home. We just added a broadband connection... bring your notebook computer along!
Yes, there is wind in Maalaea. But you are sheltered on the lanai and can enjoy the views all day. We will gladly trade the traffic and congestion in Kihei for the quiet residential feel in Maalaea, and we very much enjoy that second glass of wine at Buzz's Wharf without risking a traffic stop on the way home. There are four excellent restaurants within a short walk.
There is a small beach inside the breakwater, but you can walk to the end of Hau'oli Road to the four mile beach (it's about 1/2 mile and there is parking should you choose to drive). Great for walking, swimming, and snorkeling. But you can watch surfers challenging Freight Train, a shore break known for it's speed and intensity, from your comfortable lanai seat! You might even see the resident Monk Seal (named Humpy) or the two eagle rays (named Spot and Ray).
Enjoy the famous Waterfront Restaurant, Beach Bums, and Seascape Restaurant, there is also the Maui Ocean Center, Maui Dive Shop, ice cream and gourmet coffee. Carl's Junior is at the highway intersection, and there are miniature golf and bumper boats. You can catch the Maui Bus ($1 per transfer) at the sidewalk below the Ocean Center if you'd rather not drive to Lahaina, Kaahumanu Mall, Wailea, Paia, etc. The routes can change, I try to keep updates in the condo, but there are up to date schedules posted in the Village.
We have owned vacation rental on Maui for over nine years. We visit frequently and keep our property clean and in good repair. We have one housekeeper whose personal touches make all the difference. She has a name: Carmen. You can call her if you encounter a problem and she will respond!
Vacation rental helps me afford to keep the condo I love so much. In and out visitors (with Carmen's cleaning service in between) make the condo breathe and stay fresh for when I visit. You get excellent value, Carmen likes the extra income, and I come "home" to clean comfort... I open my suitcase just like you, and relax and enjoy. "Thank you for choosing my condo" is sincerely felt.

Just wanted to drop a note of heart felt thanks for the use of your condo. It was truly a home away from home for us during our two week stay on Maui. I already miss my mornings on the lanai watching the Pride of Maui and other charters set sail for the day along with the beautiful sunrises and sounds of the waves crashing. Tradewinds, who can say enuf about this little deli/market. LOVED their homegrown produce and lunch specials. They are so nice and friendly, just like old friends. We also visited the Ocen Center just up the road, had some of the best BBQ ever at Beach Bums and spent one morning at the mini golf center. All within walking distance of the condo. Renter beware of the laundry room (lol). Hours posted are 8am-8pm but you have to remember all things run on Hawaiian time. The machines most likely will not be turned on till after 8am but will shut down a bit before 8pm. Dryers will dry your clothing in the time alloted so no worries there. Also be prompt and respectful in the movement of your clothing from one machine to another. The residents certainly are and we appreciated that. Denise, you were most helpful in our decision to rent from you. Your kind emails and the help our first night there were what will make us come back again (if you'll have us!). Our return visit will be in 2 yrs for another family reunion. The kids voted hands down this is where they want to stay :) Again, Mahalo for a wonderful place to build memories for our family.

My husband and I honeymooned here in Septemeber 2010. Very comfortable. Denise was so helpful and left a lot of good tourist information in condo. Very clean and inviting. Food and store within walking distance. The Maui Ocean Center was only a few minutes away also! I loved waking up and watching the sunrise over the ocean from the balcony. Thank you for sharing your home with us. When we come back (Hopefully soon), we will come right back to you!!

We just got back from our trip to Maui. We loved the condo...perfect space, the big tiled walk in shower was wonderful. We ate at the three restaurants with in walking distance and all had great food. The little store next door was very nice, but we did most of our shopping at the Safeway in Kiehi. We went out on the Pride of Maui for snorkeling, whale watching, and a nice Bar BQ, we just walked out the front door to catch it...very convenient. Every morning we watched the surfers and all the boats leaving the marina while drinking our coffee. Our weather was great no rain, there was wind but we thought it was great as it kept us from getting too hot. For sure we would go back....it was lovely

Myself and two other sisters stayed here from March 22-30, 2011. We loved the condo, it had everything we needed. The Lani was lovely and perfect place to get out of the wind. It was nice to watch whales breaching from inside or outside the condo, we too generally stay in Kiehi but enjoyed this great change of pace. Be assured we will return. Denise gave us several good tips, one was about the little store next door. It contained lots of goodies some are homemade by the locals. Also a pleasure watching the boats load and go out each day for snorkeling or whale watching. The condo is wonderful and we will be back.

Three 50+ ladies stayed at Denise and John's Maalaea condo for almost a month. 2 of us have been staying over at Kihei for several years and decided to try Maalaea as a comparison. We chose this condo because it promised a great lanai with lots of room and views of the ocean that was as close as possible. The lanai and the view was absolutely delivered and was the best even when it was a bit windy (and even when there was a bit of rain). The condo was clean and well maintained (thanks to the ever helpful Carmen). The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of mugs, bowls and plates as well as a good selection of pots and pans. We ate every meal at one of the tables on the lanai (in the evening by candlelight although there is an outdoor light fixture). Although the BBQ and pool area is at the opposite end of the condo complex it is really just a few extra steps away. The exit stairwell instead of the elevator gives direct access to the reserved parking spot #1 as well as the walk over to the harbor shops and the oceanside access to the BBQ. We did enjoy the access to walking on the long, sandy Sugar Beach but for the most part we drove to the many and varied swimming beaches all over the island - this was a personal choice. Some of the attractions that we would recommend include 'Surfing Goat Dairy', 'Kula Lavendar Farm', visit to Makawao town, Bubba Gump's restaurant in Lahaina, watching surfers at Napili or Paia, Wok Star International in Kihei for a vegetarian treat, getting a pedicure anywhere, the french toast at Beach Bums. Denise was extremely helpful and answered our many questions as we made our booking with her. We even got to meet since they arrived for a short vacation on the same day that we left! The only thing that was 'not as advertised' for the condo is that the washer and dryer is not within the condo but there are coin operated facilities on each level. All in all, we would definately recommend this complex and this condo as a great place for a quiet comfortable convenient vacation location.
