At the north end of Half Moon Bay, on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, "Harbor Vista" is a spacious 4BR/3BA home with 2 master suites and 2 guest bedrooms. It has a Great Room that combines a fully equipped kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table and seating area, allowing you to share the fabulous sunsets with your friends and family. It's our relaxing Coastal California retreat.
The front deck at Harbor Vista runs the length of the house and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. At 330 feet above sea level, the view is panoramic and runs from the Ritz Carlton in the south to Pillar Point in the north, with ships at anchor and at sail in the middle. The sunsets are beautiful and can be viewed from the lower or upper deck, or anywhere on the main level. A BBQ with propane is situated there for cooking up a grilled meal. Grilling fresh fish from the local harbor is one of our guests' favorites.
The main level consists of a spacious great room, combining a fireplace seating area, sofa/loveseat seating area, dining room table that seats 10 and an open kitchen with granite countertops and a breakfast bar. Picture windows take advantage of the view but can be covered at night for privacy. A HDTV projector shines on one wall, providing a home theatre with 5.1 DTS Surround Sound. You can watch DVDs, digital cable TV or hook up your laptop to view your own videos on the wall.
The kitchen at Harbor Vista is outfitted with double ovens, a 5 burner glasstop range, double sink, large refrigerator, dishwasher and trash compactor. It has dishes and flatware for 12, plus all the pots, pans, mixing bowls and serving dishes you need to put on a great family meal. We use the kitchen ourselves and have cooked a Thanksgiving dinner for 16, so we have worked hard to make it complete.
Upstairs is the first master bedroom, with a comfortable King bed and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. A sliding glass door leads to the balcony, and stairs lead up to the rooftop deck, with glass railing and a patio set. Taking in the sunset with a glass of wine is one of our favorite pastimes on this deck.
Down the hall are the guest bedroom with Queen bed and the "Kid's Room" with 2 Twin bunkbeds, as well as a guest bathroom with shower.
Downstairs from the great room is the second master bedroom, with Queen size bed and a Full size futon sofa. A 42" TV with digital cable and DVD awaits you here, with hookups for your favorite gaming system or video camera. The 3rd bathroom is here with shower. Out the glass sliding door is the backyard patio, where the 6 person spa awaits your arrival, along with a gas fire table to keep the chill off before or after a dip in the spa. The yard has room for kids to run around, and a play structure with 3 swings and a slide for them to play on.
Linens and towels are provided, including beach and spa towels. A full washer and dryer is on premise. Propane and firewood are provided. High-speed WiFi and phone service is included.

Why the Owner Chose Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay has always been a special place for Rich, growing up in nearby Sunnyvale, it was the closest beach town and THE place to get your Halloween pumpkin. Jen used to go vacation in Pismo Beach from her hometown of Fresno with her family, so getting away to the ocean and the cool breezes was a highlight of growing up. We both love the Half Moon Bay Coastside area, and having an ocean view home is a dream come true. It's close to San Francisco, but feels worlds away, with huge open spaces and nearby organic farms. There's 20-plus beaches in the area, tidepools, whale watching, sailing... it's a great place to get away and relax.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We remodeled the home in 2006 with the goal of making it family friendly. It has a spacious great room with fantastic ocean views, 2 decks for outdoor entertaining, a 6 person hot tub and a home theater system. The bedrooms are upstairs and separated from the great room and downstairs master suite, which makes it easy for some people to go to sleep while others stay up and visit.
Great local beach with mild, regular waves and a long stretch of sand. Can get busy during the summer, but is a great place to people watch or surfer watch.
Local shops, restaurants and bars. Great seafood spots and cool local art.

Thanks, David. I did indeed replace the knives with a new set of Henckels knives last weekend. We also had a friend over who cooked dinner for 8 of us and she said we had everything she needed to make a great meal. We hope to have you back again soon!
