Location The cabin was build in 1937 by my grandparents --My parents bought it off my grandparents in 1946 and they added on master bedroom. In 1979 I bought it off my parents making me the 5th generations to the land.I have done alot of improvements to the cabin and then in 1999 built my new house on part of the land that goes with the cabin.Being my old home place it still feels like home to me and it does have the homely feel.
Cabin sits on two acres of large yard with childs playhouse
Located in one of the best neighborhoods in Asheville, it will offer quiet nights and friendly people where they walk themselves and pets.
Chain link fence around patio where pets can be let out on front porch to patio with out the worry of pets running off.
Grocery store and shopping is just two minutes away.
Grove Park Inn less than 10 minutes from cabin
Biltmore House twenty minutes across town. Golfers I can help with local knowledge of course

I spent a week here with my mom and our pets. The cabin was fantastic - as described, stocked with everything you need for a night or a month, and very tidy. The yard is large and there is a small fenced patio next to the house. We had fun watching a small flock of turkeys wander through twice a day. The owner is great, lives nearby, and is available if you have a problem. We didn't have any problems, but Tom gave us a great restaurant recommendation. Very convenient to in-the-city adventures, and near I240 if you are going further abroad. Nearby: Ingles grocery with a great deli, AAA travel office, lots of restaurants, several pet hospitals if you are traveling with furry friends, shopping, etc. I'm already trying to decide when I can go back again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Can you say "White Christmas?" We had about a foot of snow, but we did just fine. Snow angels, snowball fights and a joyous snowman helped make this a Christmas we'll ALWAYS treasure. Jerrie even decorated for us providing a lovely holiday ambience. We're impressed with the attention to detail and the care that Tom provides. The high quality furnishings and beds make the cabin feel like a home. The location is ideal for exploring Asheville. The kitchen is well stocked and we had no trouble creating a fabulous Christmas dinner. Everything is impeccably clean and tidy. We've never stayed in a better vacation rental. If you're going to be in Asheville, this is the perfect location! It's literally 10 minutes to downtown but has that secluded "out in the country" feel. We just returned after spending 4 wonderful nights with our dogs. EVERYTHING you need has been thought of and is there when you arrive.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

About the owner: Hello-- meet my wife (Jerrie) and myself (Tom) and our little eight pound havanes dog.I have just retired from Northfolk Southern Railway (May 2009)We plan to travel play golf and just take it easy and have alot of family get togethers With our three children /thier wifes and our three grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
I choose to buy the cabin from my parents account I wanted it to stay in the family I'm the 5th generation to own the land. My grandparents built the orginal cabin ,the my parents added on the master bedroom in 1959. It is my old home place and lived there until 1999 when I built my new home on same property (almost 6 acres) where the cabin and new home are.
