The Mulino di Rimaggio is a XVIII C. water mill transformed in 3 elegant apartments, each one with its own character and charm. After a meticulous restoration the Mill has been awarded the status of protected historical building. The names of the 3 units evoke the old use or setting of their rooms: HAY LOFT, MILL STONES, STREAM.

The surrounding perfumed garden attracts many species of butterflies, bees and other insects as well as frogs and toads that are the joy of the children in the summer time.
The wide infinity swimming pool occupies the space of the mill pond and it is fed by a water fall of spring water. Parasol and sun beds offer comfort to the guests.

The Mill nestles in a rural well preserved area on the Valdarno slopes of the Chianti Hills. Ideally located in the centre of the Tuscan Golden Triangle of the three world wide famous art cities Firenze, Arezzo and Siena that can be reached in less than an hour, by car or train. Perfect location for daily excursions in Tuscany for wine/food tasting and art tours. Outlets of the most famous fashion designers are 20 minutes far.

The front side of the house faces the swimming pool, the garden area and the beautiful hill of Montegonzi that offers breathtaking sunsets.
On the East side the view opens on the valley and the Pratomagno on the Appennines Mountains.
On the back side a bubbling stream lined by tall walnuts, poplars and a wild thick woods populated by birds, squirrels, woodpeckers assure tranquillity and relaxing atmosphere.
The little village of Montegonzi overlooking the property has grocery and a good trattoria.
Cavriglia 3km far has shops and facilities for all needs; more shops and stores in Montevarchi, 8 km far.

In the 3 apartments the modern comfort mixes with the warmth of the old family furniture and quality materials of the architecture. Each one has its own private open space with parasol , dining table and sun chairs.

We stayed at Mulino Di Rimaggio after a 7 day cruise, it was exactly what we were looking for. We spent 1 week here and felt like we were true Italians. The countryside is beautiful. The owners were lovely. The wine was amazing, and happy to report we have found it here in the US! Everything was perfect, due to the hard work of the owners. They want you to have the entire experience thus making it wonderful. We hope to go back soon!

We, 2 couples in our early 60s, enjoyed 6 wonderful days here and found it to be more than we had hoped for. The location was perfect for visiting the nearby cities of Florence, Lucca, Sienna, and Pisa. But what we liked just as much was just lounging by the pool and enjoying the property. The owners are very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasantly memorable. We would definitely stay here again on a visit to Tuscany.

We could not have asked for anything more with this property, it is a superb place from which to enjoy Tuscany. The setting is lovely, surrounded by vineyards and Tuscan hillside, within a day's drive to numerous vineyards, hill towns, castles, and interesting sights. It is also an extrememly comfortable place in which to simply relax and lay by the pool. The apartments were designed by the owners for their own use so they have a number of personal touches and interesting design elements. They were equipped with all the modern conveniences (dishwasher, washing machine, kitchen appliances) and everything we needed to enjoy cooking and dining in - the hosts even started us off with a welcome bottle of Tuscan wine! The hosts, two couples, were all very welcoming and attentive. They greeted us, provided any advice we needed, and kept the place meticulously clean and well-functioning. One is a previous tour guide and is full of knowledge on the local sights, and the other works at a historic local winery and welcomed us for a lovely tasting. Their hospitality and charm gave us an excellent impression of Italian/Tuscan culture! We were two couples and a baby and found the Hay Loft apartment to be a perfect fit for us. We would definitely stay here again and recommend that you do the same!

Owner response: We all love our work at the Mulino and give the new renters the possibility to spend their time in a nice, confortable place is still our goal. We only use professional housekeepers, plus, Gloria and I follow their work constantly when they clean the apartments; Antonio takes care personally of the pool to be sure that the quality of the water is high. We only regret that we do not have all the time that we would like to spend with all our guests, but we are always happy to help with information and any need they can have.

It's been a few months since we stayed at Mulino Di Rimaggio but the memories are still so clear. Our family had a LOVELY time here. Very relaxing. Perfectly positioned. We rented a car in Florence and then were able to drive to so many great Tuscany locations using this home as our base. Plus we were able to spend a whole day just hanging by the pool. The welcome and willingness of the owners to place our family at ease in a foreign country was amazing. Thank you so much for making our vacation special! We do hope to visit again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely Francesca for making our first trip to Italy so special. The Mulino di Rimaggio is absolutely beautiful w/ old world charm yet all the modern conveniences. It was a great location from which to venture out and explore the Tuscan countryside, and then come ‘home’ for a relaxing evening. The best part of our trip though was spending time w/ Francesca who shared her passion and knowledge of Italy, its history and artists. I hope that we get the opportunity to return …….. this place is a little slice of paradise.

As we made our way from Rome, we arrived at the peace and quiet of Mulino di Ramaggio. The listing description and photos were accurate. In fact, it was much nicer than the photos depicted. The property was clean and very well-maintained. The owner greeted us and gave us a tour of the facility. All of our questions were answered. In addition, the owner contacted us via telephone in order to make sure that everything was perfect. Various wineries and restaurants were recommended, such as Badia a Coltibuono. Don't forget to visit La Bottega di Coltibuono. We recommend the following two restaurants, which were recommended to us, Osteria diMontegouzi and Ristorante Pitena. Both are a few minutes from Mulino di Rimaggio. We were fortunate to have met the owners Francesca (we did not meet her husband, Roberto); Gloria and Antonio. They were all extrememely helpful. We would definitely return.

I booked the Mulino for myself, my husband and another couple on a cold November afternoon, dreaming of a sunny Tuscan vacation in June. We arrived at midnight (delayed flight) to a warm welcome from Gloria, and discovered our delightful apartment! From then on, the vacation was all we had hoped for, with lazy days spent by the pool, short drives to town for groceries or pizza, along with other days of driving to one lovely Tuscan town after another. Every night we returned to the Mulino to enjoy dinner outside, drinking the newest purchased bottle of Chianti! We were so delighted with the apartment, and our hosts were very hospitable! We enjoyed our conversations with Francesca and Robert, and appreciated Francesca’s assistance in booking reservations. Gloria and Antonio recommended some lovely restaurants, and Antonio’s knowledge of the area was useful in planning some of our day trips. The Mill Stones apartment was roomy, comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, and I really enjoyed the days we cooked at home. If you don’t wish to cook, the surrounding area is full of very nice restaurants; we did not have time to try them all! The co-op store in Cavriglia (10 min drive) is very convenient for groceries; the town also has a good bakery, gelateria, café and takeout pizza. The location of the Mulino is so peaceful, and yet the towns of Tuscany are all within driving distance. The villa is within a 20 minute drive of a train station, where we took the train to Florence one day. We have booked several vacation homes over the years, but this one topped them all! Many thanks to our lovely hosts, I hope we meet again.

Owner response: So nice to hear that our guests have caught the right atmosphere to enjoy our villa !! Relax, cook, taste good meals at the local trattorias, sightseeing when in the mood to do that. It is exactly what we do when we stay at the Mulino ! The perfect place for the "otium" of the Romans or "dolce far niente" of the modern time.

Simply stated, we had an absolutely fantastic week at the Mulino. Francesca made us feel like a member of her family from the minute we arrived. We stayed in the Stream apartment and were extremely impressed with how well appointed the suite was and how very clean and comfortable it was. We could certainly tell that the owners take great pride in their property and they truly enjoy sharing it with others. The Mulino is conveniently located within easy access to the Chianti region, Florence, Sienna...just to name a few. To top it off, the setting of the property (amongst vineyards and olive groves) is what a person would imagine when dreaming of a vacation in Tuscany. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality and accommodation. Our stay at the Mulino was the highlight of our three week vacation in Italy.

We have just come back from two wonderful weeks at this beautiful spot. The ONLY thing that didn't work out too well was the weather which was fairly rainy for our stay. You could not possibly get a better value for your travel dollar than this wonderful old restored mill. Our apartment was beautifully appointed with everything we could possibly need (and then some) for a two week Tuscan holiday. This place was obviously a labour of love and it shows in all aspects! Gloria met us upon arrival and could not have been more helpful as a resource person during our stay. Francesca met us a couple of times for tours in Florence and has a huge knowledge of Florence! We would highly recommend dedicating some time to spend with her getting a better understanding of Florentine history. Time very well spent! We also really enjoyed a visit to the Badia for tastings with Antonio. And don't even get us started on the cooking school at the Badia! Wonderful! Thank you so much for all your kindness and helping to make this a truly lovely holiday!

We enjoyed an unbelievably beautiful week in the Hay-Loft unit at Mulino Di Rimaggio from Sept. 18 to 25. This is a perfect accommodation for two couples as each had a lovely bedroom with separate bath, one on each floor. The roomy kitchen, facing the patio and pool, was well-appointed and the large living room, with back door down to the stream and basement laundry, was perfect for lounging after a day of touring hill-top towns of Chianti as well as Florence and Siena, all very conveniently located. The unit was very clean and comfortable and the welcome basket most appreciated. We loved the walk up to Monegonzi for purchasing some food items and enjoyed wonderful dinners in the two restaurants. We also used services, and ate in restaurants, in Montevarchi and Cavriglia, visited the nearby rose garden and took in the local Friday market in Terranuova. Gloria and Francesca made us most welcome and Antonio encouraged us to visit the pottery/wine/olive oil shop at Badia a Coltibuono where we also enjoyed touring the abbey and having a fantastic lunch on the scenic patio. For my husband and myself, the upper bedroom, with windows on three sides, enjoyed a view that we will remember forever. We could watch hunters of wild boar, families picking their grape harvest and witness the sun hitting Montegonzi each morning. The trip up and down the winding road, between vineyards, made the accommodation even more inviting as felt we were living in a time warp. Life in Tuscany can be perfect!

About the owner: Gloria and Francesca: our life styles and experiences are very different, and thanks to this "mixed blessing" at beginning of the nineties with our husbands we decided to embark on our incredible adventure that has brought new life to our Mulino di Rimaggio. Today each of us contributes dynamically to the management and hospitality of this exclusive resort drawing on our own individual experience and knowledge. Passionately in love with Tuscany, enthusiastic about its history and territory and ready to share our knowledge with you so you too can have your own special memories of our mill and its surroundings.

                          Why the Owner Chose Cavriglia:
We were wandering in the area when we saw an abandoned building nestling in a little valley next to a small uncontaminated stream....we decided to have a closer look ..... and we felt in love with it, luckily it was on sale !

The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
Mulino di Rimaggio is in a rural area, away from the most crowded and visited towns of the Chianti area, but not too far to visit when we like. It is ideal for relaxing or enjoy the company of our friends. The phone doesn't ring, there isn't any computer to check the mail, any Pay TV, we can finally read the book that we bought some time ago, pet our flowers, cook or simply sit, close the eyes and listen to sounds of nature.
