This Cedar lodge is located just 25 minutes north of Grand Rapid off Scenic byway #38. Three mile north is the quaint little town of Marcell with a nice park, tennis courts, basketball court, hockey rink, and some fun shopping.

Over 30 years ago we started Top-Notch Hand Crafted log homes and have since built 100s of log homes, from 7000' estates to modest 2nd homes. We wanted to make the log home experience available to everyone, not just those who can afford a second home on the lake. We have now built three big log lodge rentals, each very private on there own 200' of lakeshore. This one was built in 2005. After viewing this listing with all the amazing photos, needless to say, we were beyond excited about our reservations for Cabin #1. But when we arrived, the Cabin EXCEEDED our expectations! I can’t even think of one thing that was wrong, missing or could be improved upon. We stayed from a Thursday – Sunday. Even on the last day, I found myself still in awe with all of the beautiful details of this Cabin. While we were there, we all kept talking different groups we would love to come back with. The drive for us was approx. 3 1/2 hours, but WELL WORTH THE DRIVE! Peggy was very nice, friendly and easy to work with. Thanks Peggy! I wish I could click on more stars for a higher rating than Excellent!

Our group stayed at this log lodge for a weekend of calm, peace and beauty. And boy, did this place deliver! Our stay was perfect. It is spacious, private and clean. This is not a cabin. It is a home, with everything you could possibly need furnished. The yard is huge with room to play and stroll as you wish. The drive is on one of the very best scenic roads. The lake is nearly as clear as the Caribbean Sea!! We would not hesitate to rent here again and look forward to visiting in the future. The only downsides we could see were not enough time here and finding time to visit again! There are no TV's, but we honestly did not miss them and spent our time sleeping in, reading, playing cards and exploring the area. Thank you for a relaxing getaway........we needed that!

When you book this cabin, cabin #1, you are staying in what we believe to be the most beautiful cabin on the lake. Cabin was very clean and well maintained. This cabin easily accommodated our group of 11 with room to spare. You will delight in comfy beds, ample seating, a well equiped kitchen and large gathering area. The smaller size of the lake makes it possible to be out even in windy weather conditions. Fishing was great. Peg: Thank you for your kind hospitality. We so much enjoyed our stay here. We will definately recommend this property and will definately be back.

I'm hesitant to write a review because I don't want the word to get out about this fantastic resort! We stayed at Cabin #6 (large log cabin on the water) this past week (Aug 14-21). The cabin was spectacular. It was huge, very comfortable, and well-appointed. The cabin had just about everything we needed with the exception of food. :-) The property is beautiful and the lake is splendid. It's crystal clear, mostly weed-free, and very quiet. We had fun fishing, swimming, canoeing, paddle-boating, hiking, playing games, and having bon-fires. If you're looking for a true "up-north" experience with all the comforts of home, this is your place! We can't wait to come back!

We are a group of very fussy adults who have traveled all over the world. We love to cook and appreciate a well equipt kitchen, and clean, beautiful surrounding. This place fits the bill. It offers everything a group of friends or family could hope for in a vacation escape. Beauty, peace and quiet, enough space and privacy for everyone. The owners make it feel like your own private cabin, and each time you retrun it will be like 'coming home' A great place to start a tradition.

Absolutely fabulous retreat. I have stayed here twicw alone and love it for writing and thinking and INDULGING. Access in winter is just fine. Wish I had moretimeto explore the ice fishing and other amenties outdoors but business travel precludes. I have recommended this property to numerous friends and coworkers-- maybe not a great idea (?)

Four of us recently stayed for three nights in cabin #1. It is a beautiful structure, well cared for, clean and comfortable. All bedrooms are lakeview in this cabin. We had rainy days during our stay but loved the big fireplace, and enjoyed use of the game room, playing pool and ping pong. The kitchen had everything we needed and we had plenty of wood to keep the fire going. Peggy is an outgoing host and is eager to make sure you enjoy your stay. Mid-week deals are a good deal for small groups, weekends are affordable for larger groups, which this place can certainly handle. An easy drive just outside of Grand Rapids. Highly recommeded, we can't wait to return!

My friends and I stayed at this beautiful log cabin in October. We enjoyed the fall colors, an invigorating sauna, great meals in the open kitchen, and relaxing by the fire. This log cabin is spacious and can easily accomodate a large group. This cabin is secluded. There are two other log cabins on the other side of the property that are near each other and equally fabulous. My friends cannot wait to return for another vacation!

We stayed in cabin #7 on Mother's day weekend 2009....this cabin and amenities exceeded our expectations. We also viewed cabin #6 and it is gorgeous as well....someone was in cabin #1 (so we did not get to see the inside), but as I understand it is the best of all and the one displayed on VRBO listing. This resort is awesome and I can't wait to share it with family and friends in some future stays. The cabins are huge and can handle many people easily, yet they are so cozy, that even our weekend getaway for 2 was spectacular. I have been asking guest to add the nice comments they put on our guest book onto this site and they tell me that they want to keep the place a secret so I won't raise the prices. I promise, you will love the place. Well equipt and beautifully hand crafted. A true nortnern experience. We keep a book in the cabin with guests coments. Every guest loves the place and say our photos do not do it justice. 95% or our guest return again and again. If you want July, book a year in advance.
