Fantastic stay at the ideally located Cozy Cabin

Guest: Yvonne S.
Date of Stay: 03/31/12 Review Submitted: 04/18/12

We have just returned from a fabulous vacation in Austin. We chose the Cozy Cabin due to it's location and facilities and were not dissapointed! The cabin is very clean, homely and comfortable so we settled in very quickly after our long flight. The owner has thought of every amenity and responded promptly to any queries we have both in the run up to and during out trip. We loved the hot tub and our two children looked forward to feeding the fish every other day. Right accross the street is an outdoor heated pool, with lifeguards and changing failities, which we we took full advantage of. The cool area of SoCo with it's 50s style and restaurants to suit all tastes, retro stores, vintage clothing shops and a great trailer food park was 10 minutes walk away through leafy quiet streets and Stacy Park. Although the cabin is really close to the city centre, you feel like you are in the middle of the country as it is a very green and leafy neighbourhood with squirrels aplenty. Zilker Park is a 5 - 10 minute drive away and you can walk for hours turtle and bird stopping as well as cycle and kayak. Barton Springs is a fabulous amenity and a great place to cool down in the summer heat. We cannot recommend the cozy cabin highly enough and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Charming Austin Getaway!

Guest: Stanzies (Thousand Oaks)
Date of Stay: 06/30/10 Review Submitted: 07/13/10

Our family of four spent nine days in Austin this summer for a volleyball tournament and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. This two-bedroom house is a charming renovation that includes all the amenities you could want, is close to so many cool Austin restaurants, shops and trailers on SoCo and the surrounding areas and is a very short walk to the warm, spring-fed outdoor pool at Big Stacy park. Everything at the house was as wonderful as described, it is well maintained and clean and there is even a large bonus room with a six-person dining table and window views of the quaint backyard. You will love this place. P.S. We do suggest parking out front on the street since the driveway is pretty steep...but other than that, this place is a wonderful retreat.

We found the cabin to truly be cozy and comfortable. It is in a great loation to access all of Austin's attractions and a short ride to Jo's for morning coffee. The house was just the right fit for us. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning is super. Nice quiet and safe neighbrhood feel. Would definetly come again. The owners were great to deal with, really responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Austing Getaway

Date of Stay: 06/07/10 Review Submitted: 06/18/10

My family and I had a wonderful time at your cozy cabin. This was our first visit to Austin and we found the cabin was perfect for our needs. We loved the surroundings! Everything was very clean when we arrived. We had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. The jacuzzi was a real plus..we used it in the morning and at night! The coi pond was a hit with my younger daughter who also found a toad in it! She loved the backyard. The location was close to all to the cool shops/restaurants on South Congress but tucked in the hills so we didn't feel like we were too close to the action. Thanks again and we hope to use your cabin again in the near future.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage in Travis Heights. We walked through Big Stacey Park and went for a swim in the pool across the street almost every day we were there. We ended most busy days in the hot tub. Very quiet location and close to everything we like to enjoy in Austin. Great communication and great service from the owners. We would recommend this home to any active couple or active couple with older kids.

We enjoyed our first trip to Austin. Our once-a-month get-aways have been Dallas, BUT now it's Austin. We loved the cottage home the best. It was wonderful to come "home" and rest in the hot tub and then go out to nightlife and return back "home." No more hotel stays for us!…We will be back!

Great location, great home

We stayed in this great bungalow for my sister's graduation. It was very well located on a quiet street right in the heart of Soco. Lots of great shopping and dining options in the neighborhood. It was also stocked with everything you could possibly need. I travel a lot and always use vacation rentals and this was one of the better equipped rentals I have found. The great little yard was beautifully landscaped and my sister's kid had a great time feeding the koi fish in the pond. The next time we are in Austin I wont even look around, I will rent this place again. Thanks to Jac and Jeff for the hospitality!

We had a great time and enjoyed this cute property. It sits on top of a small hill and has a beautiful, relaxing backyard. The washer and dryer came in handy as well. Very much worth the price. I would recommend it highly.

Peaceful area with quick access to all of Austin

I have lived in Austin off and on over the last twenty years and work as an appraiser which has given me the opportunity to explore a lot of different neighborhoods. The "Cozy Cabin" is a great example of a very comfortable and happy South Austin home with a nice front porch and oak-veiled view of the downtown and capitol at night. We enjoyed being able to use the playground and pool at Big Stacy park with our daughters and everything we like is just a short trip away. The size of the home is really perfect even for a family; we will be back to enjoy again in the near future.

This was my first trip with my twins, the house was almost baby-proof. The property was very clean and well maintained, the washer/dryer came in handy. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, even on warm nights. The house is minutes away from South Congress, which has many restaurants and awesome shopping. My wife and I highly recommend this property.

Great cottage in ideal location

We stayed in this great cottage when we were in town for a UT football weekend. The location was perfect for getting to the campus as well as wonderful restaurants & shopping on South Congress. The neighborhood is a wonderful place for walks and picnicking. Although our favorite spot in the entire neighborhood was the back patio at the cottage. We enjoyed breakfast and evenings out by the pond. The house had everything we needed - comfortable beds, room to relax and visit, cookware to prepare breakfast for the patio and an ipod docking station and speakers to enjoy our music. Would highly recommend this great vacation cottage.

Ex Austinite's new home away from home

This review is long overdue Jacob. I stayed at this wonderful home during my last visit to Austin for the ACL festival. Centrally located; we walked to South Congress (SoCo, really?) and the festival. Enjoyed the patio and hot tub after a long day of listening to music. It has all the amentities of home including a small bar area where I set up my computer to send music reviews back home. Our nickname for the place was "The Cowboy Treehouse". Love the fact that it sits on a one way street. I hope to stay again in this cozy little home.

A Sweet Spot

Guest: Canadian Gal (Kelowna, BC)
Date of Stay: 09/13/08 Review Submitted: 10/28/08

Loved the place - very cool neighbourhood, close to South Congress shops, restaurants, downtown, S. Lamar and highways to venture further away. We had everything we needed and had no trouble finding our way around from this central location. Inside is very comfortable, the kitchen had all the necessities, the back yard is private. A great place to land. Good place for singles travelling together or first-timers to Austin who want to be central (us). My only other comment - beware the driveway, park on the street in front. Just trust me.

I live in Austin but was having a small "reunion" of sorts. My house is much too small, so we rented this lovely house in Travis Heights in Central Austin. It was PERFECT! We cooked (and barbequed!) a great meal, hung out, caught up, but then were close enough to downtown and South Congress to play. We were able to walk to most places on Congress and catch the bus downtown--cheap cab ride back at the end of the night. Also short drive to Barton Springs. We loved this place! Thanks.

The house was great – really nicely furnished and very well equipped. We loved the neighbourhood – it’s an easy walk to the cool South Congress area & also the bat viewing. It was hard to believe that such a lovely place could be so close to funky shops & restaurants.

Jac & Jeff, Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. It was perfect, inside and out. The location was great, walking distance from SoCo, and we loved walking through the park in front. Plus our landlords? (hosts) were the best. Bob & Bev

An awesome house. This is true Austin - both the neighborhood and the house's character. I am originally from Austin and wouldn't pick another area to stay - right in the middle of all that the city is about. Thanks to the great crew for a great time.
