If you are looking to get away from it all but still be really comfortable and enjoy great ocean and peak views, then this home is for you. Recently constructed, the home was designed to be bright and airy with spacious rooms and an open floor plan. It has lots of windows and high quality fixtures and appliances. The views are great. You can sit anywhere in the great room or work in the fully equipped kitchen and see Morro Rock, the Bay, the Morro Bay Golf course and various mountain peaks.
The owners describe their place as "Shangri La." We are sure you will agree.
Everything is present to make your stay memorable: a high quality home, a quiet neighborhood in a semi-rural area (no sidewalks) and yet it is only a few blocks from the Expresso Cafe in Baywood Park. Take an early morning walk, pick up your favorite latte, and sit on a park bench overlooking the cove and discuss why you didn't move here years ago.

When you get ready to leave, please leave some comments in the guestbook and let us know about your great vacation.

There’s never a shortage of things to do here on the Central Coast. You can walk, drive, or ride along the Embarcadero with its wonderful views of the Bay where you can watch seals and otters at play, or eat at some of the best seafood restaurants you will ever come across, and explore the many unique shops. Farmer’s Kites rents out Surrey bikes which seat up to 5, take a ride on the new bike trail to Morro Rock. Almost every month in Morro Bay is filled with special events from the Kite Festival, Cruisin' Morro Bay Car show, Harbor Festival, Art in the Park, and so on. For a round of golf try Morro Bay's bayside premiere golf course, or one of many other spectacular courses in the county. Discover the entire coastline by driving up world famous Highway 1, right along the cliffs and shores of the Pacific Ocean. The town of Cambria is known for its many unique restaurants & wonderful works by local artists. Plan to take a tour of Hearst Castle in San Simeon. The castle was the dream of newspaper/magazine magnate William Randolph Hearst, who began construction of the castle in 1919, after falling in love with the area after camping there as a child. You are likely to see zebras roaming, and other exotic animals, descendants of W.R. Hearst’s personal zoo. Castle tour tickets may require advance purchase. An IMAX theatre shows spectacular films including the making of Hearst Castle.
North of San Simeon you will find elephant seals lying side by side covering the beaches. Breeding season begins in December. Male elephant seals are up to sixteen feet long, weighing up to 2 1/2 tons, the bulls engage in violent battles to establish dominance. Births are usually first observed in late December and continue increasingly through February, peaking near mid-February. It is estimated that about 3500 pups are born yearly at the Piedras Blancas rookery.
Drive on up Hwy 1 a bit further, Ragged Point is a great place to stop and grab a bite or take breathtaking photographs of the rocky shoreline there
Heading back south on Highway 1, take Cayucos Drive exit, then set out for a leisurely stroll onto Cayucos Pier where you may see dolphins playing alongside surfers in the waves. Cayucos has a variety of unique restaurants and an old West saloon, the Cayucos Tavern.
Back in Morro Bay rents kayaks and enjoy the estuary close up, or sail the wild Pacific just beyond the breakwater, where you can get a completely different look at 576 foot tall “Morro Rock” and the coastline. The north side of “The Rock” is a favorite surf spot. If you have arrived during whale watching season, a boat tour from Morro Bay harbor may be in order. Hungry? Local Morro Bay favorites include: Dorn’s for breakfast, Lunch at Bayside Café, which is next to the marina, Morro Bay State Park Campgrounds, Golf Course, & Morro Bay Natural History Museum (great place to take the kids), and Harbor Hut for delicious seafood and steak dinners.
Montaña de Oro (Mountain of Gold) State Park is just Southwest of Morro Bay and has awesome panoramic vistas. While in Los Osos and Baywood Park enjoy the fresh air on the boardwalk through the Elfin Forest or Sweet Springs Preserve, each along the shores of the bay. Pick up Noi’s Thai Take out on 2nd St. for your picnic lunch.
To the East, you will find more than 100 of our exceptional local wineries and vineyards offering tastings of famous Central Coast varietals. Discover Central Coast history by taking a tour of a local museum or one many California Missions in our area. Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa was built in 1772. Learn the history of our local Native Americans; the Salinan and Chumash tribes.
Thursday nights San Luis Obispo closes down Higuera Street for their Farmers Market where you can pick up dinner at the street vendors BBQing, listen to live music, eat a caramel apple and take a peek in at Gumball Alley while on Higuera St.
Just South of “SLO” you’ll find a local favorite beach, Avila. Avila Valley Barn, Avila Hot Springs, or the restaurant at the end of the Olde Port Pier has tables that you can see the ocean below through, are all great places to stop and relax.
If you have a wild streak, drive on down through Pismo right onto the beach at Oceano Dunes where you can drive on the sand along the ocean or rent an ATV to ride the dunes.
Whichever direction you decide to wander, you are sure to have the time of your life!
