Casa Alta is a three bedroom one and a half bath Mediterranean inspired home located in a charming neighborhood near Napa's downtown. The house has been recently renovated and will welcome you with its gleaming hardwood floors, freshly painted interior and exterior arched doorways and curved ceilings. Each bedroom is appointed with a luxurious queen sized, pillow top mattress, fine linens and cozy bedding. High quality furniture, antiques and many original works of art are around every corner. Sit at the desk where you can make unlimited local and long distance phone calls, plan your day, peruse the guest book or connect your computer to wireless internet access.

Enter the house through your private courtyard shrouded in potted plants, climbing wisteria and Olive Trees. The back yard is a world all it's own with flagstone patio, hot tub, charcoal barbecue, and partially enclosed outdoor dining room and sitting area. If it's cool, light a fire inside or enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Listen to the sound of the fountain running, read a book or take a nap in the outdoor daybed.

Take a ten minute walk to Copia, the center for wine, food and the arts and enjoy an array of daily activities and programs, a casual cafe or fine dining at Julia's Kitchen. Just a few more steps to the incredible Oxbow Market, which houses three restaurants, a wine merchant, an actual micro-winery, bakery, tea shop, chocolatier, spices, butcher shop, organic ice cream, olive oil, gifts and more. Catch a trolley from here or continue on to Napa's downtown, where choices abound from day spas, theater, wine tasting rooms and shopping to a plethora of world class restaurants.

Hundreds of wineries are a short drive away, many in the beautiful Carneros region or the Stags Leap wine district, both within five miles. Take flight in a hot air balloon, ride the wine train or hire a tour company to pick you up at Casa Alta and explore.

This is the Napa Valley Lifestyle!

Casa Alta W Hot Tub ~ Walk to Oxbow Public Market & Downtown

Year Purchased: 2001

Why the Owner Chose Napa

This was my first home, and I loved it. It had all the things I wanted ~ I was able to walk to town, it had hardwood floors and lots of charm and plenty of space in the backyard. I worked for years to make it just the way that I wanted it. Then I fell in love and moved in with my sweetheart. The house is almost entirely as it was when I enjoyed living there so much.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Walk to the Oxbow Market every morning for fresh pastries, incredible coffees and teas! Relax in the back yard and really settle in. Prepare a wonderful meal and enjoy it on the patio or just share a bottle of wine and some conversation. It's a great, relaxing space with fireplace, daybed, hot tub and flowers.

Owner's Map of Napa

I bought my first vacation rental in 2005. I love traveling and never realized what a great way to vacation it was to stay in homes until I had made the purchase. The Napa Valley is such a wonderful lifestyle, and I am always so excited to share the experience with visitors. Maybe, like me, you'll come for a visit and never leave!

    • What a great place! We enjoyed every minute of our vacation. The house is perfect. The backyard is worth the price by itself. Thanks again.

    • We stayed at Casa Alta in May of 2009. The host, Belinda, was very much accommodating. The house was just perfect. Everything we needed was at hand. The yard was peaceful and perfect for evening dinners under the stars. Thanks for everything!

    • Three adults and one "tween" and it was perfect. The home is very comfortable and peaceful; I especially enjoyed the windchime touch. The back yard is a vacation spot all by itself. Easy access to everything Napa has to offer. The owner was very accomodating and honest. You'll love your stay!

    • I just stayed at Casa Alta last week (April 27-29, 2009) with four other women (5 in total.) We were in Napa 3 nights and we were very comfortable at Casa Alta. We used all that was there -- jacuzzi, outdoor livingroom/dining room, fire pit, bar-b-q grill & everything was wonderful. It is in a beautiful little neighborhood across the street from an elementary school. We stayed very busy with a 9 hour wine tours via the most fabulous & knowledgeable limo driver in Napa (John Copollo.) We were just minutes from hot air balooning (Ballons Above the Valley - which I highly reccomend) and shopping so we did not even take time for t.v. Hurry and rent it before someone else does... Thanks Belina for everything.

    • This property is exactly as described on VRBO. This is an older home just a brisk walk from downtown. We found it very convenient compared to others in the area for similar price. The home is in excellent condition for its age and has been remodeled. The backyard/courtyard was one of the highlights of the property. We enjoyed sitting at the outdoor Travertine table and lounging about. We never used the outdoor fireplace even though it would have been nice. It was a fantastic place for wine & cheese or home made dinner. The spa was very relaxing for 2, but could comfortably fit 4. The Home Owner was very friendly and EXTREMELY responsive. Suggestions for the owner: There's only one TV (add one or more to the bedrooms). Additionally, add a shower in the half bath & blinds. We were concerned about 4 people sharing a 1.5 bath, but we coordinated well and there were no problems.

    • Wine country was great, but to be honest with you the highlight of the trip was Casa Alta!! I stayed there with 3 other adults and we could not have been more comfortable!! It was spotlessly clean upon our arrival, and had EVERYTHING we needed for our stay!! I would recommend a rental car, because for our group who were older and/or overweight, I wouldn't say things are necessarily in walking distance...although we never did take advantage of the cable cars. Casa Alta is by far the most charming and comfortable place I have ever stayed away from home!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place Belinda!! Dana

    • We stayed at Casa Alta during the last weekend of January and really enjoyed it. This charming house is located in a very quiet neighborhood. We love the antique furniture and the beds were very, very comfortable. The outdoor setting was beautiful though it was too cold for us to use but 2 of us enjoyed the hot tub. It was an easy walk to Copia and Downtown and we had a lovely Saturday. We all had a relaxing and peaceful weekend. Thank you very much, Belinda!
