Amazing View, Private and Quiet

A short drive down a dirt road in the vineyard and then up to top of hill for an amazing view of Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa from the front of the cottage. The cottage is very nicely furnished as shown in the pictures and the beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. I loved looking at all the cookbooks. The internet was not working when we were there, but we did not miss it. The hot tub is great and has a wonderful view. The pool is not heated and needed a vacuum. There is a nice patio area with table and chairs in rear of cottage for eating and BBQ. We had a problem with BBQ and could not get all the burners to work. The wineries are down the hill in Glen Ellen and Kenwood. We really enjoyed the view, privacy, and the comfortable cottage. We would love to come back again. A great place to relax!!

This is an extremely quiet and pretty location. The space is exceptionally private and secluded and yet it was convenient to all of the wine country activities. The owners were helpful and unobtrusive. We will definitely return on our next visit out and our friends who come back every year will stay again. It was like a home away from home for us. We travel all over the country with competition dogs and the ability to have our pets in a safe setting where they could relax was invaluable. No cars or roads to worry about. Thank you.

A place unlike anywhere else!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had an unbelievable stay. The views are breathtaking and unlike any other place we have been. You are literally right in the middle of rolling hills of vines. We were greeted in the morning by cows and the rolling fog on the mountaintop. The view from the hot tub was remarkable, the interior of the home was very clean, kitchen was userfriendly and equipped with all necessary items. Overall i would highly recommend this location.

Beautiful Refuge Off the Beaten Path

From the moment we arrived we were in love with the views. We spent a lot of time sitting outside just looking over the valley at all different times of day. Waking up to cows and horses in the fields behind us and the wild turkeys below was a surreal experience for us city folk. We loved watching the stars appear one by one while drinking wine in the hot tub. The views are amazing and for the long weekend we were there we tried hard to commit them to memory. We made good use of the kitchen and all of its supplies. The pellet stove works magic. The beds are ridiculously comfortable! We are pet owners but couldn't bring our dogs cross country for this trip. So for the non-pet visitors don't fear-- the house is clean and doesn't feel abused or hair-ridden like some pet friendly places. DeAnne and Mitch provide everything and we look forward to the expansion, as we hope to visit again. There's so much to do in the area! Our only challenge was finding time to enjoy all the amenities of the house and all the wineries and excursions. Booking on VRBO can leave you a bit anxious until you arrive at the location, but rest assured knowing that if you stay at Black Knight Vineyard you will be in good hands and will leave relaxed and in love with the area.

Wow!! Gorgeous property!!

Absolutely beautiful property with the BEST views we've ever seen!! The house is so cute and adorably decorated! Comfy furniture, plush beds, everything was top notch! There was a great selection of dishes and silverware! The pool was CHILLY, so one very brief dip in that was enough, LOL, but we thawed out quickly in the awesome sauna. :o) But the VIEWS are what really took our breath away! Incredible... and we loved watching the sunset from the hot tub! We brought our dog and he had SO much fun romping around on walks through the vineyards! We don't travel without him, so we really appreciate that such nice accommodations are also dog-friendly! He ran around so much the first afternoon that he actually had to stop to rest in the middle of a walk. He's very active and athletic, so stopping to rest is pretty much unheard of! :o) He didn't want to come home... and we felt the same way! :o) It was a great location, too! We spent a fantastic day canoeing on the Russian River with Soar Inflatables. It was so nice to spend a great day paddling and splashing around in the river, then be back sipping wine in the hot tub in less than 30 minutes. And we checked out a few wineries the next day! The property is a photographer's dream! We got sooooooo many awesome pictures! All in all, it was a GREAT trip and we would definitely recommend it!!

A Truly Special Place!

My friend and I were looking for a place to take our children for a couple days during their Spring Break. I found Black Knight Vineyard and we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! Everything about this place was exceptional. The home was extremely clean, comfortable and very well appointed. We never left the property until we checked out and there was never a dull or bored moment for the children - ages 4 through 10. They were happily amused during our entire stay with the pool, hot tub, sauna and free roaming privileges of the acres and acres of vineyards. The frogs, horses and wild turkeys also added to the fun. We, mommies, had everything we needed, too - from a well stocked kitchen where we prepared all our meals, to the relaxing hot tub with the panoramic views. My two beloved pugs enjoyed their stay, as well. As one of my pugs is elderly and needs a lot of extra care, it is so nice to find a place that is as wonderful as Black Knight Vineyard and is pet friendly! DeAnne and Mitch were the perfect hosts. When we had a question or needed assistance, they were right there. Otherwise, it was as if the home was ours and there was no one else around. I hope to return to Black Knight Vineyard often - it's the perfect place to get away or centrally locate yourself to the abundances of the wine country.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Black Knight. A great hideaway but close to all the exploring and tasting in wine country. The tension just melts away as you enjoy the fabulous view --either from the hot tub or a lawn chair. The place has everything you need from charm to a picnic basket. Glad we found Black Knight and we're already talking about the next time.

We decided to stay here on our visit to wine country and are we glad we did. The views from this property down to the valley are absolutely amazing especially at night. The house had everything you could want, down to a selection of spices when we decided to cook. The hot tub and sauna were great after a day out exploring. If you want to feel at home, comfortable, spoiled with a DVD library to relax and all the comforts you need, this is the place. We will be back SOON.... I had been speaking with DeAnne prior to our arrival and she assured my bf and I that no matter what time we arrived (we arrived at night) to not worry and just to relax. When we arrived, the fire was lit and the lights were on to welcome us, which was really nice. This is the first time that we used the sauna and it was a relaxing treat! When we mentioned that we were running low on fire pellets, we were provided with fire pellets the next day to continue to keep us warm throughout our stay. Everything was clean and as pictured. We would definitely visit again and hope to in the near future! Thank you for yet another lovely experience!

A Perfect Place to Be

My wife planned a simple getaway to extract me from a busy schedule for a short weekend of peace and quiet. We had "done" the Napa region in the past, but this weekend was just for us. We will be forever grateful to have found a piece of heaven at Black Knight Vineyards, a beautiful setting, a comfortable, lovely and thoughtfully appointed cottage, views that take one's breath away. The photos and property description are absolutely accurate and, if anything, understate how special this vacation rental is. We have been back now twice, and Mom and family are coming out this Spring to join us. For wine tasters, the whole region of wineries is right around the corner. If you just want to rest there could be no more restful place, truly serene, as much privacy as one could want, comfortable and cozy. And, they welcome pets! We walked our Bengal cats off-lead over acre after acre with the vineyard dog in tow, a new friend, a gentle old chocolate Lab named Cinnamon. The cottage lies on a hill atop the property far above the main house and vineyard, rows of Pinot and Chardonnay to the left rolling away below you, the sunset over Santa Rosa straight ahead, pristine hills and countryside rising behind, a big herd of rescued horses free-range in a meadow below, a flock of wild turkeys in the yard at sunrise, hawks and geese overhead. Dine outdoors at sunset and listen as nightfall awakens the frogs and crickets while you just kick it on the porch watching the stars come out. The view from the jacuzzi of the whole Santa Rosa Valley far below, sparkling at night, will take your breath away. Smell the air as it was meant to be, breathe in the quiet, and count your blessings. Thank you Mitch, DeAnne and your family for welcoming us.

Everything about this place was quite charming and definitely as pictured. DeAnne and Mitch were available when we needed them and wonderful. I had to change the days when I could come and DeAnne was very receptive to my request and most accommodating! Also stated, the security deposit was mailed back within the days specified. My bf and I would definitely stay at this place again as it was in a private yet good location (we could go buy groceries if needed) and the price (which also included use of a private pool and spacious jacuzzi) cannot be beat! Thank you so much!

Spectacular Views, disappointing accomodations

The trip was great, and views were stunning . . . all they claimed to be and more . . . BUT, the house smelled like dogs, and was not particularly clean. The pool was filthy and unusable (the owner basically said it is unusable year round, so I'm not sure why it is used as a selling point), and there was supposed to be a sauna on the property as well, but there wasn't one. I see that feature has been removed from the website, but it was something we expected but did not get. We enjoyed our trip immensely, but we will not be going back to this property.

Owner response:This guest left a glowing review in our guest book while at the rental. They then submitted this baffling review many days later. The next guest had the decency to tell us about a strange odor. We immediately tracked it down to mice in the wall under the kitchen sink. The kitchen was demolished and the problem fixed. The rental now has a beautiful granite counter top and the guest who did alert us received a significant discount. We take our vacation rental seriously. Our pool is perfectly usable in the summer. In March the pool is not open and during that time the pump was upgraded to the highest industry standards. We removed the cover for this work and the guest could see the needles from the trees that could not be vacuumed while the pump was out of operation. Our home is on the 60 acre vineyard in another location so that the vacation rental is very private. But this also means we can respond to any need immediately. Please - always give the owner a chance to fix something before complaining.

We had a wonderful time here - just wound up being one night. Perfect for two couples. Three of the four of us did the first Levi's Grandfondo in Santa Rosa. Needless to say, the cold pool, hot tub and sauna were all food for the bones and muscles! The view is amazing! We also enjoyed hearing the wind among the trees. A walk through the vineyard is a must. Another great view up above the Merlot & Pinot grapes. If you are lucky - Mitch will let you barrel taste his private stash! Yummy - We loved the Zin he had in a 1/4 barrel. We enjoyed talking with DeAnne and Mitch and hearing their story of how they got here - cheers to them for taking a risk we have all thought about. We hope to return!
