Appartamento Belvedere is a light and spacious modern villa apartment with a swimming pool. It is approximately 1 km from the Baroque town of Martina Franca, famous for its annual international music festival. Up to 6 people can be accommodated and there is even a fold up bed for an extra child, if required. This luxury apartment occupies the ground floor of our family villa and is situated in a prestigious, private residential area for local families. It is ideal if you do not wish to be too isolated from Italian life.
The garden has a patio area for eating "al fresco," a barbecue and plenty of outdoor chairs, tables and sun loungers. The pool is approximately 6.5 meters (22 feet) by 5 meters (16 feet) with a depth of 110 centimeters (3.5 feet). It is situated in a fenced-off part of the garden, accessed by a gate. Please note that the pool may occasionally (but not often) be shared with the family. There is also a full-sized table tennis (Ping Pong) table for guests to use. A fold-up clothes dryer is available outside for drying clothes, towels etc. in the sunshine.
The property is reached via a private driveway which has a remote controlled barrier at the entrance. At the top of the driveway, the villa is inside a fully-enclosed garden which is accessed by a remote controlled gate. The apartment has its own entrance and there is plenty of secure parking inside the garden.
With its under-floor gas central heating and log fire, Appartamento Belvedere is ideal for an "out of season" break. So why not escape from those dull days and benefit from some Puglian sunshine. Or have a relaxing Christmas away from all that stress and enjoy the excellent local cuisine and wines?
Being centrally-placed in Puglia, Appartamento Belvedere is an ideal base from which to explore this lovely and unspoiled region of Italy. It is only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful Baroque town of Martina Franca with its fascinating historical center and many shops, bars, restaurants, etc. making it very convenient. The other pretty towns of Ostuni, Locorotondo and Cisternino are close by and each have their own individual character. Alberobello, the famous "Trulli Town" is about a 30 minute drive away. Other places of interest include the caves at Castellana Grotte and the Zoo Safari at Fasano - which makes a lovely family day out. There are many sandy beaches on both the Adriatic coast and the Ionian coast -both are within easy reach.
The nearest airports are Brindisi (approx. 50 minute drive away) and Bari (approx. 1 hour and 15 minute drive away). A car is necessary in order to make the most of this lovely part of Italy and can be hired from either airport.
If you require any basic food shopping to be done prior to your arrival, we can do this for you. Likewise, if you are arriving late and would like us to purchase some local cold meats, cheeses, salads and wine for a simple meal on your arrival, we will happily oblige. (Food and wine to be paid for on arrival). We have a modest selection of DVDs, including some specialist Italian classics, plus maps and guidebooks of the area and a selection of Italian and English language novels which guests are welcome to borrow during their stay. We can also offer advice on where to go and what to see, should you require a little help.
