As you wind down a country lane to our 2 1/2 acre Chewuch Riverfront Retreat, all you will see and hear are the river and pine trees.
Inside you are cozily ensconced in a warm, home with the flexiblilty to have one to three dwellings depending on the size of your group.
Only 1 mile from the charming "western" town of Winthrop with fun bistros, bakeries and plenty of shops to browse.
The main house has a hot tub and a pool/ping pong room. There is an optional wood burning stove for a cozy warmth.
The house can sleep 9 (two queen rooms, a twin in the loft, and a double bunk room). You can also rent our pine cottage (by itself or together) which sleeps 2 - 3. You can even include the "sleeping-room only" bunkhouse for another 2 - 3 people. You have a choice of renting a place for 2 or up to 14 people.
Winthrop is in the heart of the beautiful Methow Valley, the best place in the State of Washington for cross-country skiing and mountain biking. Hiking, fishing, birding, horseback riding, ballooning and rafting are all popular.
You can rent skis & bikes right in town. There are good grocery stores, restaurants and a seasonal farmers market as well.
The house is comfortable with a western theme. Everything you need to be comfortable is included - you supply food, drinks, and companions!

I stayed in the pine cottage for 10 days. I loved it! It was cozy and comfortable, a perfect place for a personal retreat. The location is fantastic, close to town but also very private. The cottage was clean, well maintained and everything I could have hoped for. The owners and the fellow on sight were incredibly helpful. I plan to return every year. Of course, the skiing is fantastic, with so many trails to choose from.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

We planned a family get together & were fortunate to find Chewuch Riverfront Retreat, which is about as perfect as it can get if you are planning a stay in Winthrop. The main house is spacious, well laid out, very clean, nicely decorated & equipped with everything you need. The cottage, which is separate from the main house, is a private perfect place for 2, beautifully decorated with its own bath & mini kitchen. There are bikes for your use & tubes to float the river. Very close to town & easy walking distance. You can lounge in the hammock or just sit in a chair & read a good book at the river's edge. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves & all agreed we will return. We also agreed it was more fun to just eat in than go to town. The owners make this place feel like you are staying in your own home. You can tell they take pride in ownership. We notified them of some small issues that needed maintenance & they immediately took care of it. We feel very lucky to have found this beautiful place & we WILL RETURN.

The cottage was perfect! The little town of Winthrop was close by and we had a great time playing at Sun Mountain. I would highly recommend staying here! If you were having a large family gathering this would be the perfect spot as they have a large house on the property also for rent, the both of them would be perfect.
Owner response:The property does have nice flexibility from the Pine Cottage for two the main house for up to eight and even a bunkhouse for another two or three if you have a group. There are nice aspects of the area in all four seasons. It is great to be on the river.

We highly recommend this vacation property. It is very comfortable, has lots of space and something for everybody. Our teenagers are very happy floating on rings on the river at the bottom of the property, and come in to play pool and eat ice cream periodically. My aging Dad is very comfortable in the Cottage where he has privacy and quiet when he needs it. We take trips to Pearrygin Lake to swim and float, Winthrop for put put golf and ice cream and breakfast at the Duck Brand, Twisp to the bakery. There are lovely trails to bike on all around. When we are home we sit by the river and read and play cards. The owners were so helpful with advice and patient with questions, it feels as if they want their guests to really enjoy their experience here. The house is well stocked and well taken care of. It is very clean and It feels like a home away from home. We feel very lucky to have found it. This would be a fun place to come with another family. Lots of space and privacy.
