We bought this place where we live, and where our Serendipity Apartment is, for one main reason, "The VIEW". Other than that, we loved the house.

What are you waiting for? Book it!! lol I just returned home to the freezing cold from the best trip ever!!! And I have to give a huge thanks to Bob and Carol for making that happen. We had such an amazing time :) Bob and Carol were so genuine and honestly the best hosts we could ask for. Bob picked us up from the airport which relieved a lot of stress on arrival. They are such sweet people which really was the icing on the cake. The view from Serendipity is beautiful with crystal blue waters as far as the eye can see. The apartment is spotless and very well equipped. Carol even drove us to the grocery store. We didn't rent a car and so it was a big help to be able to depend on them to give us a hand. It would probably be better to rent a car to get around the island but, we enjoyed walking in the sunshine. If we did need anything, Bob and Carol would get it for us. Highlights were: 1.Secluded beach which we walked to in 2 mins. 2.Watching New Years Eve fireworks next to the bonfire on the beach with live drumming Junkanoo band! 3.Bob taking us to North Point with a detour to see Flamingos and go to Da Conch Shack . 4. Carol setting up the undersea adventure so we could see spotted eagle rays. 5.Kayaking through the mangroves were we saw lemon sharks in the shallow water. 6. Getting to know Bob and Carol 7.Taking pictures. I could go on forever....We had SO much fun and I would definitely stay at Serendipity again, they made us feel as if we were at home (I even asked them if they could adopt me...) All in all, Highly highly recommended!!!!! It truly was a serendipitous find:) We miss it already.... Thanks Bob and Carol (good luck with those pineapples:)

Positives: snorkeling, solitude, comfortable accommodations, Bob and Carol. Negatives: there’s not much within safe walking distance other than the beach. About us: mid-40’s; married 20 year; no kids; like outdoor activities; dislike crowds. Length of stay: 10 days. About Serendipity: reasonably priced for the apartment, but a real bargain when you throw in Bob and Carol (see About Hosts section). The apartment is just as described on VRBO, so I won’t go into that. It was very comfortable for the 2 of us. It would be OK for a couple with 1 or 2 small children. Two adult couples would be pretty crowded. We bought meat at the IGA and used the grill 3 nights. The pool looked inviting, but we are beach people so we hit the beach nearly every day. About Hosts: Bob and Carol are simply the best! They are attentive, accommodating, friendly, funny, respectful and available to answer your questions. What more can you ask for in a host? We had dinner with them several times and really enjoyed ourselves. Before renting, you can contact Bob & Carol via VRBO and then connect via Skype or phone. They’ll answer all your questions. About Babalua Beach: It’s an easy 10 minute walk for people in reasonable shape. You might want to bring a cooler with wheels if you plan to haul a case of beverages to the beach each day. Plan ahead, you don’t want to run back and forth from the beach to the apartment for things you forgot. You’ll find excellent snorkeling all along the beach and as close to shore as 15 yards. It is very quiet, so if you’re looking for a party this isn’t the place. We were the only 2 people on the beach most days, which was perfect for us. This is not the wide gentle sloping beach you’ll find by the resorts. Much of it is pretty narrow and quite rocky. There is a very nice sandy area more suitable for kids and those just looking to take a dip. Misc: You should consider renting a car if you want to go anyplace other than the beach. The Turtle Cove Marina is a challenging 20 minute walk in daylight. I strongly advise against walking to or from the marina after dark. Talk to Bob and Carol about car rentals; they can give you some advice. If you go: Stop by Sharkbites and give a hug to our good friends Simone, Janet and Carny. Ask for a Reserve and Ginger if you’re looking for a taste of the local rum. If you have more than 2, call a cab for a ride home. Everything else you can find by googling Turtle Cove Turks and Caicos.

If you are looking for the perfect vacation rental, STOP….look no further. Bob and Carol were the perfect hosts. Two wonderful people who are so accommodating, Warm and friendly, they made you feel right at home. Bob picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of the island (Showing us how to get to Smith’s Reef), Then drove us to the grocery store and one evening even took us to see the glowworms w/ a cooler of beer. They have lived on the island for many years and were able to give us perfect advice on places to eat, whom to dive with (flamingo divers), rent a car from (Grace Bay car rentals). Bob even told us where to find turtles and spotted eagle rays on Smiths reef. And wouldn’t you know; they showed up regularly… where he said they would! These are places/special moments that we would have never found on our own and what makes a vacation memorable. The beach is beautiful and just a 10 minute walk. But we would advise renting a car so you can see the whole island. The view is a spectacular and can be enjoyed hanging out on the hammock or sitting on the chairs. We spent every morning drinking our coffee on the patio. Serendipity is very clean and has everything you may need for a prefect vacation. You can stay at a ridiculously expensive resort and pay 2 or 3 times the amount of money. Or you can stay at serendipity and spend that money going out to dinner, diving, shopping, tours or extend your vacation and extra few days.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Serendipity. Our hosts were terrific! We were grateful for transportation to and from the airport and the bonus of help via a mini tour of the area and getting some groceries. We had everything we needed to prepare meals and we enjoyed eating out a a variety of restaurants. Our hosts were an excellent resource and answered our questions. We joined our hosts for a night out to dinner at an excellent Restaurant on the beach in Grace Bay that was superb and to top it off had delightful live music. We enjoyed the use of their pool and fireworks from the upper deck. Our favourite activities were snorkelling, swimming with the turtles, and walking on awesome white sand beaches, watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We found it helpful to have transportation for some days.

If you're looking for something outside of a hotel, this is your spot. My family stayed here and it was all that we needed for a great and relaxing time. First off, Bob and Carol treat you like family. They open themselves up to you from the moment you land. When you're traveling it's the little things that help make the trip and they fill in where you need. I have a little baby girl and they were like new grandparents to her. They give you your time to relax or if you want to hangout you can. I can't say enough about them as people. There is a beach a short walk away and the view from the property is amazing. There is no question about your safety. You're a short drive away from most everything. This is just a better way to enjoy a trip to Turks and Caicos. Not to mention at a better price then other places on the island.

A great alternative to resort stay for those who want to see more than just beach - wonderful hosts, GORGEOUS view, and quiet, comfy, clean digs. A car is HIGHLY recommended - the nearby beach is lovely, but exploring the island was the highlight of our trip. And in the heat, 10-15 minutes is a longer walk than you might expect (esp with a baby/beach chairs/etc). One of the best aspects of the place is full kitchen, as eating out on the island is quite expensive. We had a great time cooking for ourselves, and enjoyed eating on the beautiful patio (b'fast in the hammock!). Bob & Carol are truly as fabulous as noted by other guests - they went out of their way to be helpful and kind without being intrusive. It's also a pleasure to stay with folks who really know the place - another advantage over staying in an anonymous hotel. If you are coming to Provo ONLY for the beach, stay at a resort. If you want a beach vacation AND a feel for the greater life of the island, stay with Bob & Carol.

We can't say enough good things about Serendipity. Lovely, quiet, restful accommodations, includes everything you need except groceries, which are nearby. Carol & Bob are wonderful hosts, very knowledgeable about the island, the people and where to access most anything. The apartment is spotless, spacious and very comfortable. Loved the snorkeling just a short walk to an almost private beach. A delightful place to stay and a great get-a-way from cold Alberta winters. Again, thank you for the great hospitality. Brian & Pearl.

We got more than what we paid for. The location is convenient and the room is clean and comfortable. What we like best is that our hosts are very knowledgeable about the islands and are always ready to help. My wife and I enjoy our stay so much that we can't wait to return for another vacation.

We stayed at Serendipity for 9 days in February 2010. We prefer a more quiet and spacious place than the usual hotel/resort in the Caribbean. Serendipity met this preference very well. The apartment has a large living/dining room that was perfect for evening and watching the Winter Olympics on TV . The private patio is a lovely place to relax, read and just view the Caribbean. Beach access is available by walking, but is more convenient by car. The snorkeling off the beach is excellent, making it easy to do this conveniently without having to book a tour. Providenciales has a number of excellent restaurants. We chose to eat breakfast and most lunches at Serendipity, but if you feel like cooking dinner, the full kitchen and outdoor grill easily fill this need. Bob and Carol are perfect hosts -- available and helpful if you need them, but respecting your privacy. We had an enjoyable time.
