Our converted barn is located behind a private gate, one mile up a paved road above Pfeiffer Beach. You can walk to the beach from our home. When we purchased this slice of paradise, we couldn't believe how fortunate we were to be able to live on the edge of the continent. No one can build between me an Japan, I tell my friends. Okay, well Hawaii is in the way. The occasional ship sails by in the distance. The whales blow during their migration. Condors sometimes land in my trees. Hummingbirds suck nectar from the bottlebrush. Monarchs visit and settle in the eucalyptus trees. Dragonflies compete for mates suspended over our pond, and bumble bees zoom back and forth, their weighted bodies defying gravity.
Our converted barn is beautifully, and simply furnished, and equiped with top of the line kitchen utensils and dishes. Once on the mountain, you step into a world of calm and rejuvenation. Sunsets and sunrises are magnificent. It is said that the Big Sur sky is the darkest in the United States. This is a great place for star gazing. If you are an artist, this is a great place to paint. Musicians will find this space beautiful for practicing. Writers will go deeper into their work. Big Sur challenges the visitor to examine who he/she is. This is a place to step out of your routine and let go. Pfeiffer beach, below the barn is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Anyone who has seen guide books on Big Sur will have seen our famous natural bridges. Tide pooling is very exciting. The star fish are amazing. Whale and otter watching is great fun. Locally, visitors can explore Pfeiffer State Park, Andrew Molera State Park, and the many hiking trails and swimming holes.

- The barn is delightfully rustic, and cozy, Property has views of the south coast on one side, and uninterrupted white water view above beach, Paved road leads to beach one mile down mountain.This property is the closest rental property to the bbeach in Big Sur Lots of hiking is available. Private hikes can be arranged with local expert guide. Details available on request. This is our second, and frequently used home. The barn comes supplied with all basic cooking ingredients etc. Many writers have come here to work on books and love the peace here. Guide books in the house detail hiking and activities in the Big Sur area. A must-see is the Point Sur Lighthouse. Guided tours of the lighthouse are available. Take advantage of the full moon tour if possible. This is a great place for self nurture, and to spend time with a loved one, Esalen Institute is 15 miles south. In home massages are available from qualified Esalen massage therapists, as are massages from well established Big Sur Val

- Yoga classes are offered in the village for all levels on a drop-in basis. Private yoga sessions are available by appointment in the barn. Massage is available from very experienced massage therapists, Therapists will come to the barn. The Henry Miller library is close, and has a year round program of various activities, Ventana Wilderness organizes condor watching expeditions. Worls famous restaurants are 10 minutes drive away, and include Sierra Mar at Post Ranch inn, Nepenthe, with its fabulous views, and Deetjens.

$300 for the first night. $250 for subsequent night.
50% Deposit is Required at Time of Booking, Balance Due 30 Days Prior to Arrival
