Our converted barn is located behind a private gate, one mile up a paved road. Once on the mountain, you step into a world of calm and rejuvenation. In winter the monarch butterflies come back and dance from tree to tree. Sunsets and sunrises are magnificent. It is said that the Big Sur sky is the darkest in the United States. This is a great place for star gazing. If you are an artist, this is a great place to paint. Musicians will find this space beautiful for practicing. Writers will go deeper into their work. Big Sur challenges the visitor to examine who he/she is. This is a place to step out of your routine and let go. Pfeiffer beach, below the barn is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Anyone who has seen guide books on Big Sur will have seen our famous natural bridges. Tide pooling is very exciting. The star fish are amazing. Whale and otter watching is great fun. Condors can be seen close by. They have landed in the trees in the garden, but most ofter you will be able to see them at specific points along the highway. Locally, visitors can explore Pfeiffer State Park, Andrew Molera State Park, and the many hiking trails and swimming holes.
We ask visitors to our home to treat it with the respect you would treat any great treasure. This is not a party house. It is a real retreat. It is a home. Please read the details of this property carefully before contacting the owner.
