No Snow Mammoth

Condo was funtional and clean with everything needed for a enjoyable stay. A few points of notice. 1-The condo was freezing cold when we arrived and it took a whole day to warm due to the high ceilings. 2-There was only enough wood for one day and I had to chase the management office. 3-Wood was when then delivered when we were out with two guys in the condo with all our personal belongings everywhere.:-(. 4-Cooking utensils were sufficent, but the quality of Chef knives made in possible to cut anything, seriously restricting preparation and cooking options. (for families staying a week self catering "tough") All in all a nice experiance..... bus shuttle was great, walk to town easy and ammentites nice. Cheers Paul

Owner response:Regrettably, our on site support staff did not prepare the unit by turning the heat on for our arriving guests (the first time this has occurred in ten years of support to us). We have addressed this issue and the others noted in this review. Of note, the guest was given $100 on the spot to compensate for the unfortunate inconvenience. We will continue to commit ourselves to providing our guests with the best possible experience in Mammoth.

Condo was great. We had a unexpected event of the water heater going out on us so we had no hot water for 2 and a half days. When I spoke to John he was quick to respond but the complex management were not the friendliest people. One of the staff just walked in the appt. on two girls unannounced without knocking or identifying himself as an employee

Owner response:Unfortunately, this was an example of an instance when guests arrive with more folks than they said would be staying in the unit. When the on-site support crew addressed this issue, there was conflict. I fully support our support staff at Crestview and am proud of the support they provide in unforeseeable extremis circumstances such as this. The support staff knocked twice before entering in order to remedy the situation. Had the communication been better between the guest and support staff, all of this would have been 100% avoidable. I understand that the customer is "always" right but this is a misrepresentation of the service we provide to our valued guests. See all of our previous reviews to provide context.

What a great condo! It was perfect for our family. Very, very clean with lots of attention to all details. Wonderful location with access to shuttles (for humans and bicycles), and walking distance to the Village (shopping, restaurants & coffee). Owners were great with their communications - very quick to respond to emails. Great place for any type of vacation. Would have liked to have had the internet code posted in the unit, instead of having to ask the on-site manager for it, who happened to be very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this rental. We will definitely plan to come back.

Great place to stay

We stayed here last year on our annual vacation -- Condo is even better than we expected, clean, convenient and walking distance to village. Most importantly, John and Shannon were wonderful to work with, trustworthy, friendly, honest, and great communication. Prompt refund of our deposit. We look forward to staying here again!

Wish we lived closer!

Our family of 4 (kids ages 3 and 1) and 2 medium dogs stayed for 5 nights with plenty of room. John, the owner, was really easy to communicate with and answered all my questions, by e-mail and phone, with our last minute booking. The wood-burning fireplace is great and warms up the house very quickly. The 3 full bathrooms (one with a bathtub and the other two with showers) are a definite plus. The property was very clean and supplied with linens, paper towels, basic toiletries in each bathroom, dish soap and dishwasher soap. It is within walking distance to the Village and has a designated underground parking spot which helped because it was snowing when we arrived at night. We rode the scenic gondola one day and played in the snow and sledded for two days with the kids and the dogs at the Equestrian Center and had a dog sitter (Apres Pooch - phenomenal care!) for the other days. The shuttle stop is just in front of the unit. We put up a baby gate on the stairs leading to the loft and the unit was kid friendly. The on-site manager is very friendly. The only drawback is that there is no elevator and the unit is on the third floor (with 2 kids and lots of gear, my husband got a workout since one of us had to stay with the kids) and the coin operated laundry was being used by housekeeping when I was trying to use it, but once I found someone, they vacated the machines for me. The price of this place is the best we have found and we wish we lived closer because we would visit more often. Our daughter and one of our dogs did not want to leave. Our daughter kept saying she didn't want to go home and our dog kept pushing the door open and hiding in the condo when we would get him out the door. We plan to be back again soon. Thanks, John!

GREAT PLACE, VERY CLOSE TO CANYON AND VILLAGE!!

WOW! This place was great, group of 6 guys fit very comfortably. 3 full bathrooms make for easy shower rotations and comfy beds as well. New kitchen and good speakers to play music while in room. Very enjoyable stay with canyon bus stop right in front of condo 2 min. from Canyon. A nice 10 minute walk to village and other stores. Excellent choice for mammoth during Christmas time.

Great location and has everything

I'm so glad to have found this condo! It's in a nice quiet neighborhood just up the street from the Village (BTW as of 10/18/10 the Starbucks in the Village has re-opened and is only a 5-minute walk away - big plus!). Every detail was covered, all the way down to the coffee filters, corkscrew and wood for the fireplace. The owners were very responsive and everything was clean and ready when I arrived as promised. Parking is assigned in the garage and is very convenient. I will stay here again for sure - I feel like I've discovered a second home in Mammoth.

The condo was great!! Very clean, about a 5 minute walk to the village and a bus stop right outside the building takes you to the slopes. (Or the village if you don't want to walk) Highly recommend!

Great location.The condo is great..Very cozy, with a nice fireplace, and unlimited wood. Condo contained A-Z. Clean, Clean, Clean. Walking distance to the village. Underground parking so cars stay clean from snow. Very close to all ski locations. Highly recommend this property.
