I was completely satisified with my stay at this wonderful cabin located on the ski slopes of Northstar Village. The cabin itsself is kept up to date and has a beautiful view. The location is very convenient for those who want to enjoy the village of northstar as well as ski without traveling far. Having access to the community pool and gym was an added plus for our stay. I would reccommend this rental to anyone who wants to stay at a beautiful cabin with a wonderful location at an affordable price. The owner is very accommodating and easy to work with!

When we arrived, there was ample parking even though it was a major holiday weekend. The condo was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook for the 6 of us. I was so thrilled to see we were walking distance from the Village where we could easily grab dinner if cooking wasn't in the cards... The wifi was fast and we got every channel so my husband could watch every game he wanted to see! You are a quick 5 minute walk from the gondola and can ski down right back to the condo at the end of the day...nice with a big group and everyone coming and going at different times. Overall, a lovely stay and I can't wait to go back!!

We are frequent VRBO renters and this is our first and only negative review. We stayed in this condo for several nights between Christmas and New Years for a "ski in, ski out" experience. The high cost (in high season) contributed to our belief that the quality and experience would also be high. We were mistaken. About our experience:: - When we rented, condo was marketed as "ski in/out" which, in this case, really means walk two blocks to skiing. Not my definition of "ski in/out." Granted, no drive is required but that should have been disclosed in the info about the condo. - Cleaning fee unclear as part of the arrival instructions include walking your own trash to the bins (one block away) and there was a cobweb the size of a sauce pan in the corner of master bedroom. For the fee charged and number of nights, we shouldn't have had to haul trash. - Maintenance standards slim: Upon arrival, we found one smoke detector on the nightstand (presumably inoperable). Night one included a chirping fire alarm which required finding a ladder at 3am to remove from ceiling. Battery was warped, eroded and dated 2007 (it was 12/2012). We also closed the bathroom door and were locked out because the lock had been put together backwards. Again, off to the tool closet to find a screwdriver... - Don't plan to unpack: Many hangers were child size and wire (neither are appropriate for ski jackets), closets were poorly packed with lots and lots of extra bedding, only one nightstand and reading light in each room so you can flip a coin over who gets to have their water and chapstick handy. We brought all of this to the attention of the owner and she was defensive, full of excuses and blamed us for wanting to have space to unpack as, apparently, most people are happy to live "out of their suitcases." When we emailed about the smoke detectors, the owner told us that the spoke alarm batteries are replaced yearly- off to have replaced batteries in 2011 with batteries that expire in 2007. Pros: Tahoe appropriate decor, lots of games and books, well appointed kitchen, nice walk down path to village. Hopefully, this review will be taken to heart by the owner since all of the issues we experienced are fixable. Probably wouldn't have even written one if she had been at all sympathetic to our comments. That said, book at your own risk and be self sufficient.

            Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

Owner response: Please read the review with careful consideration….this renter has been very malicious towards us, demanding a high season nights rent refund for a cobweb behind a tall dresser in a master bedroom dark corner, few clothes hangers in the closet, a bad battery, and having to take out their own trash. Their review does not complain about the overall cleanliness of our condo, our commitment to provide a warm, nicely updated, all utilities functioning properly, which ultimately gave them a comfortable place to stay. Our “Ski Trail condos” are officially named “ski trail” for a reason, they are on the mountain. Our description clearly states where our condo is located, even a map is attached to provide further details. We never intend to deceive anyone on what is being offered and never will! We have rented our condo for 6 years and have never had a bad review, please consider this when deciding which has more weight. Thank you!

If you're looking for a wonderful rental at Northstar...this is it!! The owner is very easy to work with and makes the rental process hassle-free. The property is updated...has every kitchen accessory you could ask for...is within walking distance of the lifts and the village....has access to the pool, tennis courts and fitness center....all for an affordable price! We went in the summer for mtn biking and loved the easy access to the lifts. We were able to come back to the unit for lunch (which saved us from spending a fortune in the village)

Had a great time! Northstar is absolutely beautiful and serene, smell of pine trees was awesome! Lots of people on mountain biking on the trails and at the Northstar recreation center. Just a few minutes to the beach. Beautiful weather. Condo is beautiful and comfortable, we would definitely love to come back. Had pizza at Steamers (Kings Beach), watched TV, played some games, cooked breakfast, and then headed off to Trevor's baseball tournament on Saturday and Sunday, even had a team BBQ at the beach till after dark. It was a beautiful sunset over the chilly Lake Tahoe water! I was amazed at how much snow there was in July! Had a great time, accommodations were perfect, and we all hope to come back soon. We'd love to take the gondola up and do the mountain bike trails. Thanks you guys for letting us stay at your beautiful place! We loved it!
