Why the Owner Chose Marrakech

I visited Marrakech for the first time in 2003 and fell in love with the innate generosity and warmth of its people, culture and hospitality. I was immediately seduced by the vivid colors, sensuous decor and laid-back life-style. My trip introduced me to an alternative way of life that I was to make mine. Mystic Marrakech, the Jewel perched at the gate to the Moroccan desert, is where decided to hang my hat.

The Unique Benefits at this Bed & Breakfast

The calm quiet atmosphere which allows me to recharge my batteries before returning to a stressful job in Switzerland. The wonderful food my little Saida prepares for me and just generally the pampering I benefit from including Turkish baths, massages and beauty treatments. Also getting out into the mountain villages or to the Atlantic coast to hike and breath some fresh air.

Enchanted in Marrakesh

The Zen House . . . there are not enough superlatives to describe our stay at this beautiful riad and our subsequent journey around Morocco arranged for us by the staff. There were four couples in our party, and all of us loved the entire experience. The riad itself is wonderful: comfortable, quiet, safe, and very beautiful, and the staff, who were cordial, efficient and generous with their time and attention, made the visit even more pleasant. Once we left Marrakesh, everyone still made sure our travel experience was wonderful. The riads and hotels in which we were booked were top-notch. Our guides in each city were knowledgeable, friendly and flexible -- if we wanted to see something in particular, we saw it. Everything about Morocco far exceeded our expectations. The wonderful people from the Zen House played a major part in this experience. Would we go again? You bet we would. Would we recommend Morocco and the Zen House to family and friends? We already have. Thank you, everyone, for a marvelous time all around. -- The Texas Contingent

We spent three nights at Zen House in November, 2010 and found the property to be gorgeous. The rooms were quiet and comfortable with BIG bathrooms. The meal that was prepared for us was delicious and we had a fun cooking class at the riad. I would recommend this property to anyone!

Zen House

Guest: Greg L. (Provo, Utah)
Date of Stay: 05/16/10 Review Submitted: 06/08/10

The Zen House was great. It's inside the Medina, which gives it more character and place. You can walk to the Square in about 20 minutes, or you can easily (and cheaply) grab a taxi, as the Grand Taxi depot is very close. Thomas is your host. He does an excellent job. He anticipates your needs, and can make any arrangements you need. A delicious breakfast of local foods is included, and is very nice. I definitely recommend this stay.

So many things to explain about this wonderful experience and so difficult to put into words...This is like a fairytale country : Its people, its couleurs, the smells. We are sure that we will come back. Thank you for everything, especially you, Najib, for making us feel better than at home. Maa Salama

You are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. I really appreciate all the extra effort you made to make the trip great, especially the trip to the Berber village in the mountains (and my mule trip down), the visit to the Ham'am and dinner "Chez Ali". The breakfasts were great and especially meeting so many great people who became good friends instantly.

Thank you so much for a great experience, great place to sleep, eat and meet people(and drink beer). You have made a beautiful island of peace in a hectic (but wonderful) city. Thank you very much for the trip to the mountains.
