Hi Gail: My family wants to say thank you a million times. We enjoyed your cabin so very much. You designed your cabin so cozily and comfortably, we could just simply relax. Yesterday, my family didn't want to leave your cabin even though we had to. We cherished every moment in your cabin. Thank you for preparing everything for us and it was the best cabin we've stayed in. Also, my son did a sketch of the garage and snow trail in front of your cabin. I'll e-mail you the painting when it's done. Happy New Year! -- TzungDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our annual "Road Trip"

Each year we take a week vacation in mid-September which we have come to call our "Road Trip" vacation. For the past 3 years our Road Trips have been determined on VRBO properties that meet all of our needs: waterfront, close to hiking trails, dog friendly and a really nice residence where my spouse and I can feel at home. We were both impressed with this property. We loved the "North Woods" theme used to decorate the entire home. We prepared many of our meals and this kitchen was stocked with ALL the necessary pots, bowls, skillets and a panini grill that was sooooo much fun to use. Our bedroom was huge and it came with a fireplace! The deck, firepit, and sandy beach front is exactly what we were looking for. In addition, we had access to a pontoon, canoe and row boat! We could not have been more satisfied. We have rented a property that we found on VRBO in the past and I will just say that the picture were lovely but we were very disappointed once we arrived at that property. Not so with this cabin. Also, Gail and Rick could not have been more helpful or "service oriented"; we experienced a somewhat embarrassing mishap with our pontoon boat and Gail and Rick resolved the little problem by giving us another pontoon (within like a few hours)!! When it got to called for the outside fire pit with simply started a fire in the great room - and Gail, if you are reading this, we loved the leather sofas!. This is certainly a property that we will be revisiting! The service, floor-plan, decor, appliances, and cleanliness of the property were outstanding. You get what you pay for and then some!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Wow! Thank you for all the kind words! Rick and I do pride ourselves with making sure our guests feel both, at home, and pampered. Being renters before ourselves, its so nice to get so many wonderful people like yourselves, renting our home, and taking such good care of it. We both look forward to your return visit! thanks again, Rick and Gail Rahlf

My husband, brother, sister-and-law and I stayed at this property last week and had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful inside and out. The house is very clean and appliances/fixtures look like new! They also provide just about everything you need. No skimping! Just bring your food, clothes, and towels...that is all you need. They even provide coffee! Wonderful place, great deck and view of the lake. Only trouble we had, was the water level was down about 2 feet that week and my brother bent the prop on his boat. this lake is very large, but you do have to be careful navigating. There are a lot of shallow places. Otherwise nice clean lake with lots of weeds for the fish.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners.

We went there as a family with adult children and our 18 month old grandchild. It was a great place for our family. The house is so warm and makes you feel at home! Boating was fun on the lake, enjoyed the Lumberjack Championship, and if you come with young children make sure you go to "Widerness Walk". Great dinner at The Chippewa Inn Supper Club. Food and service was wonderful! Gail is very helpful, if you have any questions or concerns. This is a place would definitly reccomend! Thanks for sharing your home as a rental place to go! We had a wonderful stay at Eaglesnest. The accommodations were very nice, decor was great, and the location was wonderful. It was also nice to have a pontoon to use on the lake. The owner puts a lot of effort into ensuring that her guests have a nice stay, and that is much appreciated. It is also much appreciated that dogs are allowed and enjoyed by the owner. She understands that they are part of your family, too. We hope to return in the near future!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Thanks for the review! The best part of renting is truly our renters! When you mentioned the dogs being allowed, and welcomed, a smile came over my face. This home was built because our dog, was not allowed, to vacation with us! Only dog lovers can really appreciate that. Hope to have you stay again soon! thanks again, Gail and Rick Rahlf

Very nice, comfortable cabin. Everything we needed! We had our daughter and her two dogs with us and took our boat out each day to enjoy the beautiful Chippewa Flowage. We fished, and took the pontoon out for a nice relaxing ride around the lake. The owners were great to work with too and asked our opinion on anything that could make the lake home better for us and future guests! Very nice get away, hope to be back again! Thanks Gail and Rick for sharing your beatufil home.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Helen, thanks so much for the review, juice glasses have been added, and bathmats are in, as well as the battery operated lamps for the end tables. thanks for letting me know. Hope you come again, and thanks, it was nice meeting you, the hubby, and Debbie. come back soon! Gail Rahlf

This was our first VRBO rental experience and it was fantastic!! Everything either met or exceed our expectations. The log home location is serene. The interior decorating is exactly what we were looking for in a log home without being over the top. We were two couples that rented the home with two dogs. We had a wonderful balance of relaxing at the location at the fire pit and on the deck and also driving into Hayward for shopping (outstanding bakery and candy shop) and another town for a craft festival. The owner was very responsive to every question / request. We can't wait to go again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: I am so glad you had a good time! thanks for the review, looking forward to your next stay. My husband said wow, the place was left so clean! I said quality renters!~ I REALLY do enjoy renting our home, and bringing the dogs, makes it even better! thanks again, Gail

What a wonderful family vacation. Eagle nest was everything we imagined and more!! The fishing was outstanding. The gills and crappies were biting very well as we left with close to or limit. The walleye bite was a bit slow but the eye's we did catch were right off the dock. Great location on the flowage. The owners were extremely committed to making this a great vacation experience for our entire family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: Our home has been a joy to share with others. The responce we get has been delightful. We welcome all and their little 4 legged friends (dogs). Come here to relax, and enjoy the Northwoods. People who stay at our home, are a true treasure.

About the owner: Welcome to our website! This home is our pride and joy. We have shared this home with renters, since we built it. We built it with you in mind. We have rented homes before, and thought if ever we could, we would build it with all the extras. This home has brought our family many good times. We are big dog lovers, so please bring the 4 legged 'kids too'! My husband Rick, has taken this home as his ever lovin pastime, adding neat touches, and making it one of the areas finest. I am a Real Estate agent, and have always loved making people feel comfortable in my home. My motto is, 'Treat people like you wish to be treated'. Thanks, for looking! Rick and Gail Rahlf
Why the Owner Chose Hayward:
This is the escape we were looking for...perfect vacation home that removes you from all the rat race of the cities. My husband grew up coming to this lake, his parents, owned a trailer at a resort. His stories, of coming to the lake and hanging around the kids, was a very fun experience for him. When we first started looking at properties, we found ourselves coming back to this lake, simply because nothing else compared. Our street is a Penninsula, so we don't have much traffic and can walk our dogs, with no fear, of cars.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The fishing here can't be beat, Fishing off our dock brings in fish...ALL THE TIME!! We built this home, so we added all the special touches. Our builder was recommended to us by a resort owner from this area, and we could not have been more pleased. We wanted a flat piece of property. When we seen this property in such a great area, that was it, we had to have it! This wooded property is just so private and relaxing. Come see for yourself!
