Bright, airy, Florida-style house with deeded access to private Gulf beach about a quarter mile distant. 2 Bedrooms: (14x14) Queen and Twin. Living room/dining room (16x26); separate Kitchen with plenty of utensils, dishes, glasses, all appliances, cuisinart, etc., Laundry. PLUS quiet, quiet, back patio with barbecue , birds, birds and flowers, elegant lounge furniture. We'll consider a well mannered pet (discuss).
Located in a single home residential part of the Island of Venice one-and-one-half miles from shops, town beach, library, little theatre, churches etc., even closer to private beach...walk or bike in 5 minutes; park on the side of the road--no "no parking" signs here. One hour to Tampa or Ft. Meyers airports, less to Sarasota airport. Venice has been discovered by only a few and retains its low-key atmosphere reminiscent of older Florida. GREAT for families and retirees. Definitely not life in the fast lane.Less fun for groupies and yuppies.
Our end of the beach (South) is untrammeled, NEVER crowded, nearly pristine (beware turtle nests), and glorious. Walk it any day of the year. 27-hole golf a mile away. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, 20 minutes drive north to Longboat and Siesta Keys and St. Armand's and all the sophistication they have to offer.
We rent only by the calendar month in season and in 4-week intervals off season (you can take it for a shorter period but the price is the same). Our tenants, like us, seek quiet, comfort, cleanliness, peace, and a civilized stay. This will be our SIXTH YEAR offering our property on VRBO. We've never had an unpleasant experience and have always been able to return the security deposit in its entirety. Some of our renters are repeaters. - Step out your door, walk less than 1/4 mile, pass through a "secret" gate, and you're on one of the broadest whitest, most quiet, least used, and loveliest beaches anywhere. Another 1/4 mile to 27 holes of golf.

2010 RATES: still availabl: Feb. 1-15: $1700; April 1-15: $1400;
April 15-30: $1400;
Rest of 2010: $1900 for any other 30 days
2009 RATES: $1900 for any 30 days until 12/31/09
Supplements: Thanksgiving: $300; Christmas: $500; Pet:$100
No Charge for utilities (except LD phone). No Smoking .
Security Deposit: $500 (refundable). Cleaning Fee: $95. $100 per Pet (see above)
