Michiana Shores, a popular vacation getaway of unique cottages, is located in Northwest Indiana and borders the State of Michigan. It is 1.5 hours by car from Chicago and minutes away from Michigan City, Indiana and New Buffalo, Michigan. It is also accessible by South Shore trains.
The cottage is furnished with antique and comfortable vintage furnishings. The living room has warm wooden floors, arched doorways, an antique leather sofa and side chairs with lots of pillows, and a Regency gas fireplace insert. There is a first-floor bedroom with wooden floor, a four-poster full-size mahogany bed, a bookcase desk, and a highboy.
On the second floor, there is a queen-size bed (with pillowtop mattess in bedroom two) that affords a lush wooded view, and two twins in bedroom three. Both bedrooms have plush carpeting. There are two modern baths with glazed, faux navy marble walls, both with a tub, shower, and a tubular skylight.
Amenities: Beautiful, large modern kitchen with vaulted ceiling, 12x26 screened and carpeted porch with beamed ceiling, basement and large sprawling yard for outdoor fun.

All rentals require a $500 security deposit. PAYPAL accepted.
Daily rates > for rentals less than one week, if available.
Two-Night Week-end rate, if available, $400 plus 12% tax.
June 7-14, $950; June 14 - June 28, $1250; June 28 - August 30, $1,375
(June - August, full-week rental rate includes a 12% tax and $100 Cleaning Charge)

Thank you for a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed the beautiful weather at the beach, all day and some evenings. We used the bikes, wagons, and the sand toys - -thank you. We loved the cottage. It was perfect for our family. Thanks again for all your help and wealth of information.

Barb & Ian What a wonderful week we had in your lovely little cottage. The house was comfortable, homey, and contained everything we need. We loved and used the bikes several times a day - -thank you so much for making them available. Golfed at Michigan City Municipal course; $17 for 9 holes, including carts. Nice course. Enjoyed the restaurants in New Buffalo and Oinks ice cream was a favorite. Screened in porch was a nice place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and an evening of Pictionary (one of the games thoughtfully placed in the bookcase). We hope to return to your lovely little cottage in the woods. Bless you both.

Back again for our third time! Already a tradition... Our stay was as always, an island of serenity in the hectic world. The lake in all its majesty, lazy afternoons on the beach, the tennis courts, the tire swings, the lovely gardens (our day trip - thanks Barb), your splendid house that we have come to love, the peace that it brings to our lives during these end-of-summer sojourns that have come to be a yearly occurrence....Peace be with you until we meet again. We have greatly enjoyed the two weeks we have spent here and we are very sorry to be leaving. We have found the cottage peaceful and relaxing and we have loved the time we spent at the beach. We have taken the opportunity to explore Chicago and have appreciated its impressive art and architecture, the Museum of Science & Industry, the aquarium and the zoo. Your cottage was, as usual, magnificent, the facilities accommodating for an easy stay. We got to witness the lake in all its infinite variety and majesty. The fireplace came in handy during the cold dips in temperture and added a coziness to our stay.
