  Rented this home to celebrate my 60th birthday . It was a great weekend to be with my 3 lifelong friends that joined me . The area is beautiful with the fall colors at their peak. Did not get to enjoy the outdoors as much as I would have liked to because of the weather, but if the weather was better would have spent some time walking on the beach.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

  This was our second trip back to the Dreamwold home... and there will be many more! This home is located in a QUIET wooded area, with large trees and lots of deer. Our children loved the daily walks to the beach and nearby park. Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizza is also a 10 minute walk and a must-do! We also made frequent short drives to New Buffalo for dinner, and a day trip to the Indiana Dunes was only a 15 minute drive. Also a great outlet mall just 10 minutes away in Michigan City. The home is clean, perfectly equipped for small children, has COMFORTABLE beds and furniture, and the screened porch is second to none. The owners live nearby and are so friendly and accommodating.

  We had the pleasure of staying for 4 days and 3 nights in August. We were most impressed with how clean the house was. It is exactly what you see in the pictures, except spotlessly clean. Maryia and Ian have thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable. The house is set up for families with young children. They have gates on all the stairs, a high chair, sand toys, legos, wagons; blow up tubes, bikes, and even a child step stool and potty seat. It was as if they knew exactly what we needed for our kids. Next time, we can pack lighter knowing that they have everything we need! The private beach at stop 39 was very peaceful. We visited the beaches at Warren Dunes, New Buffalo, and Beverly Shoes and the Michiana Beach at stop 49 was our favorite. It was a short walk and almost completely private. I would recommend water shoes for the little ones. The sand is VERY hot and it is a bit rocky when you enter the water. But the water was the cleanest out of all the beaches we visited. You can see fish swimming by you and all the way to the bottom. The kids loved seeing the deer come right into the yard and eat corn that Mariya would leave out for them. The deer visited every day and were spotted several times walking down the street with their babies too. We would definitely return to Dreamwold again.

  My husband and myself, our daughter and her two children stayed here for three nights in June. The house and the surroundings lived up to the description. The house was clean, beautfully decorated, and everything worked just fine. We enjoyed our chats with the owners, particularly Mariya who was helpful and answered any questions. The owners were present but not obtrusive at all. We enjoyed seeing the photograph album of the extensive renovations that were done to the house. We enjoyed the walk to the beach through the woods, and the beach itself was delightful -- clean, lovely waves, a great place to walk and play. We went to Michigan City for dinner, and the food we found was superb -- a brewery one night, a Middle East restaurant one night, and one night we went to the Stop 50 Woodfired Pizza just down the road. One day we went to Mount Baldy and played on the dunes. But mostly we enjoyed the peace and serenity of the house and the surroundings. A great few days! One other thing -- it was very hot while we stayed at the house, but the house itself remained cool. We used the a/c only one night, and I'm someone who doesn't like heat at all. One evening we used the fireplace!

  We stayed at Dreamwold for a week with our 3 small girls, and could've not asked for a more family-friendly vacation rental. The cottage is so charming and comfortable- it truly felt like home-away-from-home. Ian & Mariya were exactly as others have described- present but not intrusive- and so friendly. My husband and I have decided that staying at Dreamwold is so much easier, comfortable, and affordable than any Florida trip! We were sad to leave, and the girls are still asking (8 months later) when we'll go back. Thank you, Ian & Mariya, for a truly relaxing week for two tired parents. :)

  Mariya and Ian are attentive and gracious hosts. We had great weather and few mosquitoes!??? My son said this was the best vacation ever! There is a kids camp close by - one day ($12) or up to 8 weeks; you choose. Playground and beach walking distance. We went to the dunes, Capt Mike's fun park, and St. Josephs has a splash park and carousel right on the beach. The house is charming and clean,clean. This was our second year and we hope to come back.

  My family and I spent a week at Dreamwold and could not have been happier!! The cottage was fantastic. To call it a cottage may imply it is smallish in size, but that is not the case. Beautifully decorated, so clean and tucked in a wooded area. We played cards on the screened in porch when the weather did not allow us to enjoy Lake Michigan. Ian and Mariya provided for everything and anything we could have needed. They were available but not at all intrusive...and so friendly!! We were so sad to leave!! Thank you Ian and Mariya!!!

  We decide to try Lake Michigan as a beach vacation, not sure what to expect, but was was very pleased. Most people in the lower Midwest might not think to go north for a beach, but I highly recommend it. No salt, no crowds, no excessive heat, easier to swim, not overly commercialized. The Dreamwold Cottage was a very short walk to a very nice white sand beach. Very comfortable, had all the right amenities and the hosts were very attentive. I would recommend this for families and singles. The village of Michiana Shores is very relaxed, complete walking biking neighborhood, very quite and private. The cottages are amazingly maintained with beautiful gardens.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

  We had a lovely time with friends who spent the week with us at Dreamwold this year! We love coming to the Michiana Shores area each summer, and particularly staying at cozy, comfortable Dreamwold Cottage! We always look forward to spending a quiet, restful week at this delightful, homey cottage, surrounded by woods and wildlife. The rooms are all large, spotlessly clean and vey nicely appointed; the kitchen is fully equipped and we even took advantage of the gas grill and had a great barbeque! We spent time in the spacious screen porch putting together one of the 1,000-piece puzzles provided by the owners. We love the fact that there are many restaurants and wonderful beaches so nearby. This year, in addition to spending time at Michiana Shores Beach, we went to New Buffalo Beach and Weko Beach at Bridgman. It was amazing to spend the day at these pristine beaches, which are never very crowded, even on holidays. We went to the Saturday morning Michigan City Farmer's Market for fresh produce and flowers; we visited the antique shops on the Red Arrow Highway; we had a delicious cherry pie from the Whistle Stop Grocery. We enjoyed freshly made wood-fired pizza at Stop 50; we indulged in a delicious burger from Redamak's, followed by an ice cream from Oink's! The guys had a great time at the Hesston Steam Museum, and we stopped in at quaint Three Oaks for a great afternoon. These and many other enjoyable experiences are becoming traditions for us, and we will definitely be returning to Dreamwold soon to make more happy memories!
