  This was our second stay at the Laughing Dolphin & hopefully will not be our last. The home again was very welcoming, clean and cozy. We enjoyed our unexpected gift of mixed nuts and loved having all the comforts of home. The kitchen was was stocked with everything we needed from a coffee maker to dishes & cooking utensils. The overall area is great and just a short drive or walk to anything we needed.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

  Dear Rick & Patricia, Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. It was great having direct owner contact. The beach house was inviting and very comfortable. We read, fished, walked on the beach and watched a beautiful sunset. The home met our needs and we were able to relax! We are so glad we found you guys and look forward to our next trip. Thank you for the gifts. We will always remember the wonderful trip to the Laughing Dolphin.

  Dear Rick & Patricia, The only disappointment about staying here was that we couldn't stay longer. We LOVED this place and look forward to renting it again.We especially liked how "bed friendly" the house was. Having a 4 year old and a 20 month old that means a lot. Thank you for all the little extras upon arrival. They made us feel very welcome here. You'll be hearing from us again. P.S. My 4 year old loved the movies. Thanks again.

  Dear Rick & Patricia, Sorry we didn't get to meet you but we enjoyed the wine & cheese. What a civilized way to change gears and get "beachy". Saturday morning drinking coffee, eating Quiche and grapes looking at the water and a very large bird flying over the waves. Reaching into the water with it's feet, out comes a fish wrapped in the talons of a Bald Eagle. Right in front of us! At the beach! What a sight that was. Quick, take a picture with your cell phone. Battery low! So we get to tell everyone we saw an eagle at the beazch but without digital proof. hat a weekend. This was wonderful!

  Rick & Patricia, We had another wonderful tiome with our family at the Laughing Dolphin. The fishing was off but we just did other things. Our girls are now 4, 6 and 10. My mom & dad - 86 and 89. Time meant a lot with my folks age and them having fun with their granddaughters. We are really sorry it's up for sale and realize we may never get to return. (Guests were later told Laughing Dolpin would coninue to be available for rent - Rick) We pray your health improves too. Thank you for the hospitality and we have enjoyed our trips in 2010 and now.   Rick & Patricia, Our week here at the Laughing Dolphin was great for the whole family. Lia and Troy loved the bunk beds and playing outside under the house. Meals on the front porch looking at the Gulf were priceless. The house was perfect, plenty of space for those rainy times stuck inside and plenty of things to do (puzzles, books, movies and music). The pool was awesome and clean. I could go on and on but I'll just say you have a wonderful place and thanks for sharing it! It was great to meet you and we wish you the best. P.S. The cookies, wine and cheese were a nice surprise.

  We loved our week at the Laughing Dolphin. This was our first time in St. Joe Beach. It was just what we were looking for: somewhere low key with a pool and easy beach access, relaxing, but close to stuff for dinners out and the needed groceries. The house was just as the pictures showed on the website. Rick and Patricia were so pleasent to talk to, and always very helpful. The short walk to the beach from the house was easy with our two young kids (3 years old and 6 years old) everyday. The beach was awesome (despite the jellyfish one morning and seaweed the next day). We had plenty of room to move and enjoy every minute of vacation. The storage room was priceless for our beach stuff. We look forward to another visit to the forgotten coast.

  This was our second vacation at the Laughing Dolphin, a great place to stay across from St. Joe Beach. The owners, Rick & Pat Krause, provide everything and more that you could possibly need to make your visit really special. They even provide some wonderful goodies to get their guests started. The home-made chocolate chip cookies are the best!!!! The rates are the most reasonable that you will find anywhere up & down the Gulf Coast. We always enjoy swimming in the backyard community pool that we usually have all to ourselves. The beach is always inviting with it's white sands and cool breezes, even on a hot day. Best of all, access is a short walk across the street. We love the ocean and spend a lot of time there relaxing and swimming. Our only regret is that we've never seen any dophins, but there's still time in future stays there, we hope. Thought we spotted some one day, but they turned out to be large "dolphin" birds, verified with the binoculars provided. The house is so comfy and decorated exactly to our taste! Every kitchen appliance & tool is right at your fingertips, especially appreciated by us, as we like to eat in most of the time. Lots of beautiful dishes & glasses to choose from. We hope to be able to return in the near future. It's a long drive from the Chicago area, but is definitely worth it!!!!

  My family of 3 just got back from St. Joe Beach and stayed at the Laughing Dolphin. I have been going to the panhandle for 35 years and usually stayed in Panama City or Seagrove Beach. St. Joe Beach is much more relaxing and not as busy with traffic etc. The beach is great and this house is just beautiful. We had more than enough room in the house and the pictures don't do it justice. There is a deck in the front and back of the house which we used every day. The front deck has a great view of the beach and we watched the dolphins every morning swimming by. Rick and Patricia (owners) left us 2 bottles of wine that did not go to waste and the most delicious cookies. We came back from the beach every day and went for a swim in the pool and there was never anybody else there. The neighborhood is wonderful and we took a drive to Cape San Blas which was worth the drive. We also were right in the middle of Panama City and Appalichocola so drove to both places to visit and ate meals there, although there are great restaurants right there in St Joe and Mexico Beach. The grocery store down the street called The Dollar General grocery store was great to shop at. The food prices were great. Would highly recommend The Dolphin and we will certainly look forward to going back there.
