My family stayed here during the first week of Oct. for our fall break. So sorry it took so long to review--I guess that explains why vacations are so important to my family and me. We had a wonderful time!! Jim and Melissa were so pleasant and easy to work with--they made staying an extra day (yes, we couldn't leave, just had to have one more day) an almost effortless transaction. The condo was wonderful and we had everything we needed for meals and such. Melissa even recommended a seafood market that we really enjoyed! The resort is clean, close and convenient to everything needed. Walking to and from Pier Park (just across ther street) was great---especially after eating a yummy meal or dessert. My husband also enjoyed fishing from the pier right next door. Calyso was both family friendly and fun at the same time. We loved the pools. The atmosphere is so much nicer than the typical "concrete pool". Of course you can't beat the beaches here. We walked on the beach several times a day and did not see a resort kept as nicely or as festive as Calypso. Many hours were spent on the spacious balcony reading and watching the water too. We even saw dolphins most mornings. We will absolutely come back and hope to book with Jim and Melissa after the first of the year.

This trip is appropriate for the family, friends and even a romantic getaway. I enjoyed everyday of my stay. The Calypso is definitely on our list of annual trips:-)

Hi Jim, We had a fabulous time at your condo. That didn't bother us. We went to Pier Park and did our shopping. We were a little worried about getting out on Sunday, but the plane took off in the rain and we had a pretty smooth ride to Houston and on to Vegas. The only problem is that the 9 nights just went too fast! Thanks. Gary

We stayed this unit during July 2011. The view is breathtaking, and the room is very clean when we were there. We walking to pier park every night after dinner, great location. Especially, one thing touches me deeply. About one month after our vacation, I realized I left my favorite swim suit at this unit. This suit means a lot to me, so i called the owner even I know I might not find it. The owner Jim called the cleaning company, and found my swim suit, and sent a couple email to make sure I can get my swim suit back. I can never imagine I can find my lost cloth after a month later. Thank you, Jim. We definitely will choose your unit next time.

Needs Cleaning

We just checked in and are very disappointed in the condition of this condo. The furniture upholstery is filthy, as are the carpets. The bathtubs are moldy around the grout and the tubs are stained. We have stayed at Calypso before and are very surprised by the condition of this unit. I guess this expains the low price.

Owner response:After receiving this review, I arranged to go see the condition of the condo myself on August 17th. I found no evidence of stains on the tubs and only one small 1/8" spot of discoloration in the caulking of one of the tubs. I removed that section of caulking and re-caulked it. I did not find that the furniture and carpets were filthy, but I went ahead and had the carpet and furniture professionally cleaned. The carpets had just been cleaned the first week of June. The guest paid the normal late summer published rate of $196.59/nt for the stay. The guest did not contact me with any concerns about the condo during her stay. We work very hard to provide a great vaction experience for our guests and will continue to do so.

just stayed - needs to be deep cleaned

We have stayed at Calypso before so knew we wanted the location. First let me say you cannot beat location and we appreciated having beach chairs and umbrella as part of our cost. The owner was very easy to work with. Our biggest concern and one that may prevent us from renting this one again is the lack of cleanliness. The carpets are so worn and dirty (they are getting tile in the fall) and the unit needs paint, but we had to do some cleaning when we checked in. The kitchen counters and master bath counter had debris on them, sticky stuff and some kind of colored liquid on the cabinets, none of the doors, door handle areas, door jams, light switches, looked like they have ever been wiped down, baseboards dusty and the ceiling fans all had a tremendous amount of dust on them. At one point I was looking for something that dropped in the living room by the couch and bent down to look under the couch and was disgustd to see food, a sock (which was not ours, tons of hair and dirt). It is quite evident that the Hunts are not getting their money's worth from whomever is responsible for cleaning their condo. For us, this was a huge turn off, I don't want to go on vacation and feel like I am staying in something that is not clean and that is how this felt to us. Great owners but not a great unit in our opinion.

Owner response:The guest is correct concerning many parts of this review. We (The Hunts) arrived on May 29th to inspect the condition of the condo ourselves. The condo flooring is porcelain tile in all areas except for the bedrooms. The bedroom carpets were dirty and we arranged to have them steam cleaned on June 2nd. We are replacing the carpet with tile in the fall. We already had the condo repainted two years ago with a caribbean blue and it looks great except for a 4" scrape in the living room where a guest pushed a chair against the wall. Other than some dust on the ceiling fans, we did not experience any of the other issues. The cabinets were clean, all counters were clean, the doors and door handles were clean, light switches were clean. Our cleaning company has been instructed to inspect all of the above areas of complaint after every cleaning they do. We take comments regarding our condo very seriously because we want to provide an excellent vacation experience for all of our guests!

Jim, Melissa we would like to thank you for our third consecutive year staying at your condo at the Calypso in Panama Beach, Fl. Our recent stay was from April 11 – 18, 2011. The weather was great. Sitting out on the balcony during the evening is very relaxing. If you want to vacation at one of the worlds greatest beaches then Panama Beach, FL is the place to visit, and a stay at the Calypso will totally complete your vacation. Not only is this condo neat and spacious but it is located directly across from Pier Park, which has great restaurants, shopping, over a hundred stores, and entertainment for all ages. I have already made vacation arrangements with Jim for next years 2012 stay at this condo. I definitely recommend a stay at this property.

this was an excellent condo, clean, well looked after. The owner was very efficient, and took care of a minor problem immediately. I definitley recommend to others, in fact, have already booked for same time next year, Dec. 30/11 to march 30/12; We love the closeness to Pier Park, shopping and the many restaurants, name brand stores etc.,,. A GREAT CONDO IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION!!!!!
